Why don't you try actually shooting the ILS Approach with limited visibility and fly a CAT 1 Approach manually. ILS doesn't mean automatic!

ILS is pissing me off! It approaches runway fine then 'dumps' it on the asphalt at the last minute? any ideas what is wrong?

are you coomming in on final approach before 14nm at like  3000ft or below. dotn't worry if your below 3000ft it will take longer to find the localiser

I think it is a case of not turning off autopilot at the last moment. Ihave just realised that ILS does not perform a soft landing for the pilot, it just guides it in. Maybe i live in the future :)

Yeah you will have to flare up on touchdown for that smooth landing as always. it will take a few attempts to get the flare right.

fsx cant really autoland unless u have the pmdg planes. u have to disengage 200-300 feet above and flare

when you have to laND YOU NEED THE COURSE HOW DO I FInd it?

well... to find the course, you have to put in your destination Airport ID ( where you will land) and then it will put a pink line all the way from where you are to where it finishes. if you are having trouble with this then watch my ILS tutorial which will show you how to set it all up ect etc.

Great vids, thanks very helpful. Im having a problem flying to certain airports. Im trying to fly from cairo intl to baghdad intl but when i click select aproach, the aproach lsit is empty? thsi worked fine with other flights its just this one, would apreciate any help :D

yeah some airports dont have an ils frequency so you will have to do a visual

i came in at roughly 165 knts and i turn off auto throttle around 150ft so you dont stall

14 nautical miles its on the gps in the top right hand corner, thats the distance you are from the airport

i dont know mate, just try turning autopilot off because i think thats what make the plane want to lift off again so when your around 150ft, just turn it off and get practise in mastering it thank you for comment

I normally just fly in around 165 - 170knts and slowly increase flaps as i near the runway. i am usually on full flaps when i hit the glide slope cheers

with a 737 i usually land around 165. but its up to you really. my guess is try out some speeds and see whats the best for you. thank you very much for the comment

With a 737 proaviation, your final Approach speed should be 140 knots not 165 knots ! ( as you said to buknoy 1 month ago )

how about i put a video of what im doing and you can tell me what is wrong? i really want to learn how to do an ils landing because sometimes i do a 2 or 3 hr flight and i crash in the landing somehow like i go of the runway or im too much to the left or right and it makes me very VERY, EXTREMELY angry!

it actually doesnt work now. if i put to nav from gps it goes straight and starts heading away from the airport. if i put gps, well, you said to put nav so im pretty messed up now.

wait a second. if i put gps then it goes around in circles then when i try to switch to nav it goes sraight away from the runway. i put in ils36r and entered that in my nav1. what do i do now?
