You should have a hoop for the drive shaft at that speed. Also they tend to rate 20% higher as a safety cushion

not really my 03 cvpi came with a composite driveshaft which is rated at 150 mph + but i think it was only available for 2 years

My 03 interceptor is limited to 135mph and from what I have read is that the drive shafts are rated to 150mph.

I didn't know the crown victorias had console shifters. I thought all of them had steering column shifters.

the speed limiter is in the stock tune and you can get rid of it with a costume sct dyno tune or mail order,,,,,,,

@smokndrew i think they make one it would be really hard to find one lol if you had a 96 i could help you out because i got the 1725 model it works on 96-03 4.6 models

@bwsr70ccrathena no this one doesnt they have one on ebay that does though but its like 600 bucks try blue oval chips they can hook you up with a really good custom tune thats why i'm trying to sell off my old model 1725 that i got cus the blue oval chip kind give you alot of extra hp compared to these tunners

Yes, that is correct. Anyone with a sliver of intelligence knows that on the newer cars, the speed limiter is computer controlled. Gee, I wonder why all of the handheld tuners and custom chips work directly with the PCM? Could have fooled me. LOL

superchips ???? for the same price or close to it you could have got a 93oct tune from blueovalchips on a sct system that is better ,,,,superchips is a universal tune but blueoval sct tune is for your car,,,if you have a intake or other bolt ons sct blueovalchips,com will make a tune for the parts you have,,,iv sean dyno charts with close to 30whp over stock on top of bolt ons,,,,,you get like 11whp with superchips ,,,,

i just put superchip in my 97 towncar today i felt the difference a little it actualy shifts a whole lot better mine is model 1725 they work great it will work on almost every for 4.6 car to 03 if you come across one i would get it if any one wants mine shoot me a offer it would work on your 03

@waco420 same thing with the SCT tuner is only used on 96- but it was able to get a tune and work for mine since its obd2 engine and trans i mean u know the engines in the 94-95 vics and town cars same thing just intake box is opposite side but yeah if u know ssomeone that has a pre 96 car with the 4.6 check it out plug it in and see if it gives u a strategy code

@1sikbirdy it may be the same motor but the computer is totaly different im not to much into all that stuff my moms bf works at a high performance shop here in waco tx and he said the motors are totaly different becase i have two town cars both 97's but my newer one has a completly diff motor its all to do with the computers

@waco420 true the computer may be different but ill tell u wut i know about these 4.6s 92 vics and wut not they were actually a small block 302 design 2 bolt starter instead of 3 aluminum intake until 96.........94 95 birds and cougars got the 4.6 aluminum intake until 96 and the mustang got the 4.6 well in 96 of course pi (performance improved heads) mustang 99 truck 01 for sure 99-00 trucks the widsor plant that made them got pi heads 01 in vics for sure if it reads the ecm it can be tuned

@waco420 man i went to a speed shop and got a super tuner cost me 500 but i got straight exaust no rtestrictions and a compleet real cold air intake my o3 is crazy i race 96 imps all the time i hand maurauders their own ass bro my tuner wrked magic

@drewboul86 i got the same tuner as in this video i paid 100 dollars for it off of ebay thats all i'v done so far my town car has the stock dual pipes and i belive it has a marader rear end its a touring addition it runs like hell though i cant wait to race some one i just put mine in yesterday i wanna go headers but i really dont want my car to be too loud till i do everything i dont like to have loud pipes and no power and where did you get the cool air kit at i want one really bad

@waco420 a guy named ben pull in philly he gets them for mustangs 03 and up cause the air sensrors r built into the mass air so it fits perfect i got shorty headers put on it addes 25 hp rite away lol u just got to get ur engine jacked oout 4 inches to install on 4.6 motors but u need to open ur exause some hoe less restriction more hp

The speed limiter can be raised, but the driveshaft is limited to 129mph, so its not safe.

did you swap the Interior from a lx ?

Yes it is not safe to go over 129mph, but the drive shaft is rated at about 130mph. The interior is from a Marauder, but only the overhead console and dash trim. The center console and shifter is from a Continental. The rest is original interior.
