  • @sailorjason ls9 will only make 600+whp with a Eaton four-lobe supercharger.... ls1 weighs more then a single turbo 13b... the 13b on single weighs in at ~300ib... the v8 does not maintain the 50/50 weight just because of how it operates... the 13b has a lower CoG and the fact that it goes in circles which keeps its 50/50 weight... a fd on single turbo will last 150k-200k as of the ls1 with all the extra crap it needs to keep up... the 13b can do 500whp+ easy on just a turbo swap...

  • @sailorjason the ls series motors where just as much reliable as the rotary under modification...

  • DAYEM!

  • @joelz1221

Excuse me retard but Australia and the PAC performance Mazda 6 runs 6.68@208mph. So that destroys your comment saying 20b 3 rotors can't reach6.6 secs. Funny thing is Australia have the worlds fastest rotary :) do your research and v8s that are supercharged run 5.7 secs down the quarter mile. So that destroys your comment again. Please do your research :) thanks

  • Rotors <3

  • This is the best RX7 Vid on here by far!! It's so funny when he falls out of the car! lol

  • @RealFix FD3S wankel with all accessories is more like 400lbs. big heavy cast iron twin turbo manifolds are heavy. So are a/c pumps, two turbochargers, etc, etc.... a stripped down LS1 install can be pretty similar weight wise.

  • @islandfd3s yes and when you take all the twin turbo shit off like this car maybe ~300ib but a ls1 will weigh in at 300ib~

  • LS1/LS2/L76/L98 block can crack over 500whp

  • @ocauTMM I am not a Chevy man, but those motors are pretty respectable.

If I was in AUS I would have an xr6. But since I am in the states I will stick with my big diesel.

  • v8 r slow

  • @wonka808 HAHA

  • your full of shit mate .......go suck on more yank dick

  • LOL, ls motors aren't reliable soon as you start making big power out of them the rings and the block won't cope with the stress loads.

  • @ sailorjason ... ls1 Doesn't get better mpg, does not remain 50/50, and isn't cheaper. le mans 1991, no v8 came near us.

  • STILLWAY is not in Kobe... it's actually in Himeji, which is famous for its castle.

  • How the hell do you do a burn out in a manual

  • you rev up drop clutch slam left foot & hold on break while stepping on gas

  • line lock

  • i hate how people under estimate the cosmo motors get an rx7 and just go drive the f*cking car and see for yourself.

I am a proud owner of two fb 7's an 83 and an 84 love em both.

  • damn did the tires melt or somthing?

  • Like I said. You do that.

Personally I like my rotary and no one will convince me otherwise.

If i want to tow a boat van etc I'll go get something like an 8 or a good 6. Until that happens I'll stick with my rotor and enjoy all the misguided quips I get from those who may have a bit of an idea about rotaries but still haven't quite got all the facts.

No offense intended but I've heard them all before.

P.S Rotors are unreliable if poorly built or maintained otherwise its exagerated.

  • Yeah. You do that.

  • Ceramic seals tend to shatter due to the fact that they are CERAMIC. They tend to do that if you have any element of tuning issues & you have a highly stressed engine.

The factory seals can handle a suprising amount.

If you want a rotary to last, Find a shop that knows their shit. Its that simple.

As for running super rich, again get someone who knows how to tune it.

Thats just common sense. They are sensitive so ya gotta do it right & look after them, and reliability will follow.

  • idk why but i fucking heart rotary! boxer engines are awsome too. but god damn i wish i had a mazda

  • fuk muscle cars man!! jdm for life!

  • good gear changes

  • After a few months of revving high and spitting flames out of your straight pipe, come to your senses and swap in an LS1 with a 6 spd trans. I had 180k on my 98 Z28, I used 91 octane and synthetic fluids . Modz: Slp longtubes, Slp forced air induction, Slp mass air flow sensor, dual flowmaster cat-back, new owner couldnt believe the power. The Ls1 weighs roughly 30 pounds more than that steel block in your in engine bay.

  • id pick a jappanes import over any car, ROTARYS RULE, cheaper, faster, nicer and sound beter!!!

  • Cheaper? I dont think so!

  • Anyone know where to find the stats for this?

  • Corvettes are underated...

id buy a Z06 over any tuner..

  • corvettes are overrated...

id buy an FD3S over american brick anyday

  • Corvettes are not overrated, are you stupid? Seriously? A stock $45,000 Z06 does nearly 200 mph.

  • $45 000... what a rip off

  • Rip off? Lol, you obviously know nothing.

  • obviously...

  • Explain to me, how you think a sports car, that does 190mph+ for $45,000, is a rip off?

  • because i have more sense than to pay $45k when in the next few years itll be down to $10k. E.g. Dodge Vipers, in the UK they can be found for under £9000.

  • Who cares? Most people that buy performance cars, want to have fun, not make an investment like it's a lump of gold. Every car loses value, espcially Japanese cars.

  • but you dont need to pay anywhere near 45k to have fun in a car

  • I know that, and I know it comes down to personal opinion, but in no way is the Corvette a rip off.

  • fair enough, all im saying is i wouldnt pay that much for any car... all i want is a RWD car, FFs are boring as hell to drive

  • Lol yeah, I like 6 and 8 cylinder RWD cars.

  • i cant say that bothers me considering i drive the shit out of the world 2nd shittest car

  • I like em' too but I still want a rotary :)

  • Rotary engines (found in rice burners) can get over 1500+ hp out of a 2.6L engine. Is that not better than a vette?

  • "Can't compare to a decent motorcycle or a Corvette?" Could you sound much more ignorant?

  • mwahaha, those zipheads have been tuning overall killers rides for the past decade the corvette just came out with its first overall good corvette this past year!

  • I would hope so, a muscle car should be able to beat a stock civic with fart can and decals

but I'm not sure why you would post that comment on this video since it doesn't apply unless you're a total dumbass

  • yes they do, but not tuners. Ricers are the ones that have the fart cans. The tuners are the ones with turbos and tuned computers.

  • wat r u all on it was running on street tires as well would like to c ya stupid r34s do that

  • wankle engines are rediculous

  • i fort that speedo was the rev counter at fist lol

  • I know of a Mustang that runs 8.80's @ 160 on 17'' wheels and drag radials. Procharged 427 stroker with a stalled auto. Still like this RX7 more though haha

  • Imagine what this 7 could do if it was dragged.

  • But what your forgetting mr.joelz1221 those cars that do go over 253 that spank 3turbo 20b's!!! cost $600,000+...LOL.. I mean even the Bugatti Veyron has 4 turbos and a W16 to reach those #'s.... The SSC Ultimate Aero TT has a V8 yes, but still cost $585,000... and those are the only two "Production car's" that reach those speeds...u make it sound like every car on the market can do it.

9 seconds /street tires/ and in full street trim??.. i think its impressive

  • But what your forgetting mr sinned2545 is the reason why these cars cost this much is because a PISTON motor is faster and more RELIABLE!!!!! (cant emphasize the reliability factor enough!!) then a rotary motor any day.. If any major car maufacturing car company thought it was worth putting the money into building $500,000 rotary car I think they would..

  • A well built race rotary is about as reliable as the equivalent power piston engine- and more efficient for its size.

  • "and more efficient for its size." and three times the production, build, and maintenance costs.

  • not all piston engines are faster than rotary engines. try a standard 12a would beat any standard four or six cylinder engine....some v8's aswell.

  • I'd disagree there. A 12a stock is like 104 hp. A 13b-t/tt will beat a lot of piston engines, though.

  • no im talking mph even the 4 rotor cant touch 253 mph dont believe me? look up scoots top speed run on youtube..

  • wasn't there top speed run in the wet?

  • Look here i have the up most respect for rotarys, but for ALL THE RETARDS!! that call v8 motors garbage look at the facts morons the 20b 3 rotor cant even break 6.6 in the 1/4 while v8s are running low 6's all day, besides that when it comes to top speed it took 3 turbos and the 20b still only hit 253 which is being spanked now by PRODUCTION CARS!! so be carefull what u say before u get beat by a v8 urself..

  • 253MPH or KM/H? If it's MPH, that 407KM/H, and, as far as production cars go - very few cars get close. And, if you're talking KM/H, well there's video's of 13B RX7s doing over 300kmh on the street, right here on YouTube...

  • at 1:47 he says over 260 K so i'm assuming KM/H, also in japan they use the metric system so that would also suggest KM/H...

Also, you should take into consideration that this run is claimed to be done on street tires. So anyone bragging about a closed circuit quarter mile run done on slicks should please be quiet.

Last thing, the strength of the rotary engine isn't in straight line racing, it's in the corners as everyone knows.

  • My reply was directed at the previous comment, not the video.

  • best clip on youtube lol!! Love the way that guy falls out of the car at the end LMAO!

  • alright i've watched this vid twice now, nice car yada yada yada, but why is it at 1:14 that the guy with the blonde hair is holding the other guy? is that a cool thing to do now? i sure hope not jesus h

  • That's just Ketzel, he's crazy! (this clip is from the High Octane series, well worth a watch)

  • alot of rotary workshop's in australia and new zealand tend to go with microtech. it is a proven street\track ecu. the LT-10s would suit many enthusiast with only the ultra-modified car's running the LT-12s. there user friendly and there are many pre programmed base map's to suit most car's meaning that only the final tuning is required once the system has been correctly installed. there very good value for $ easy to set-up they range from around $1100-2000 depending where you buy.

  • V8's lick arse compared to this LOL. ROTOR POWER!!!

  • Son of a bitch! That's love right there : )

  • imagine that going on the wangan.

  • the spedometer had to stop going up cause there was nowhere else to go, nuts

  • That's a nice ride, but it's not the only 9 sec street car in the world. That guy needs to hit up Chicago and St. Louis.

  • F*kin insane!

  • This is why I luv RX7s. They dont need that much power (and apparently not that much traction either) to whip some ass.

  • thats a fuckin weapon!!!!!

  • im in love

  • rx7s rule

  • it would run strong as long as you maintain it.

  • That is simply breath taking, unbelievable performance well done.

  • WHAT A DREAM CAR

  • i bet that engines gonna last a long time...

  • Shame they don't though, they're pretty interesting. Too bad a Supra can't run nines with only 650hp and a full interior.

  • Im sure they overbuild the shit out of it. and its a companies car. its gonna last a long time. everythings been done correctly

  • You don't need to tell me that...

  • Haha, good point.

  • damn...

  • anybody know what final gears this fd has? and what ecu? Power FC? Microtech, Haltec? which one is better?

  • HOLY FUCKIN SHIT DID YOU SEE THE ACCELERATION BETWEEN 100-140 Km/hrs ???

  • i no I did.

  • I hate all my 2 cars and truck.... I feel like a loser after this video.

  • Sickness

  • america sucks, i know this, cause i live here, what can you do besides laugh at it.

  • wtf? why do u hate america? if u dont like go live in iraq or something

  • Pretty much. I live in N.Y. I can't stand it.

  • thats 160 mph thats fucken fast some fools know nothing about cars and i bet that car is good for one 180 mph

  • haha prob 200mph bcoz it was a fullboost after the speedo stopped reading 4 a while ;)

  • yah 200 mph in about 5 sec after getting moving even with a rolling start. your a dumbass

  • miss type i meant 200 K ph

  • i can`t help it i`m addicted to shit...i go on u tube and smell it out i can`t help myself...got to go my medications running low

  • are u just feelin that sad that a rotary can kick the s**t out of ur v8, and no im not bashin on all v8's :)

  • lol...lol...speedo is in kph not mph

  • thats a good point but i know of 9 second rx-7s that last many miles .

  • what about 30 miles? or am i being optomistic

  • Only an uneducated moron would say something like that. How about long enough to say that rotary one the 24 hour of lemans, yeah mazda was the first jap company to do that, on your piece of shit rotary. Wow 24 straight fucking hours of high revving action. yeah what a piece of shit alright. lol idiot

  • lol....put ya dummy back in u must be american....u don`t understand irony

  • Yup american and still proved your dumb ass wrong.

  • i think you will find that if u look in the mirror it is u that is dumb....u have no concept of humour....is it medication time for u

  • you like jap bikes and you dont like the rx-7...your a duesche... bikes are high reving vehicles.... they are pretty reliable machines...your contradicting yourself

  • what is wrong with everybody....doesn`t anybody understand irony or is everybody on utube american

  • understand what irony sir...and no im not american. hah... deffinatly not.

  • can`t spell either

  • I WANT IT!!!! lol

  • damn fuckin amazing for the street :D

  • yea like any of your cars can go faster

  • na bitch

  • damn thats crazy. the road is so narrow too

  • This vid was made around the 1999-2000 mark so all you dipshits saying "ooo ive seen Rx7's running 8's on slicks" need to get with the times. Just a little food for thought. :D

  • this was not filmed in 1999-2000 look at the S15 is the last year edition. so its at least in 2002. and looking at the evo VIII in the back shows that it might be in 2004 !!

  • sic

  • fastt

  • fuk, u wanna put more of a bend in the pipe work

  • 123

  • fucking hell...

  • Hey re20bt, When imports are running 4's in the 1/4, then you can talk about whos toping who. Sweet ride though!

  • Ummmm yea but that's on slicks buddy.

  • lol you couldnt even see the road til he let off the throttle. Thats a beast right there.

  • damn thats a pretty big turbo

  • like to see some meathead v8 loser top that

  • That's some sick RX-7

  • lol look at that thing bounce... it wants to go forward!! bwahahah!

  • Thats a Fast RX7!

  • how many miles do you guys cover before you needed to rebuild the motor ???

  • it will go forever as long as u don't rev it off its nuts like a lot of rotary owners do :) especially on cold starts!

  • Rotary power!

  • dose 1.3 liter njin are fuckin awesome...

  • 2.3...the rx-8 is a 1.3l

  • actually its a 1.3 lol

  • I still think it a pity that Chevrolet dropped

their 6 rotor Wankel project after its holeshot

broke the test drivers neck <grin>.

  • 6 ROTOR! was that the corvette test car?

  • {go to tyrbolo's comment}

  • What's the title of this DVD or Video? i mean the whole video they took in japan..

  • Its from the Hi Octane series of dvd's from New Zealand

  • My DSM runs on BF Goodrich T/A KDs and I have ripped off mid 10s on pump gas. 9s on race gas:)

  • What is done to ya DSM??

  • rx7 is so beastly

  • 9 seconds on street tires unheard of anywhere but Japan? Mr. British accent needs to take a trip to America.

  • Thats a New Zealand accent and how many Rx7s are there in US doing 9s on Street tyres??

  • Sorry I dont have my accents down. And as far as RX7s in the US, I wouldn't know. I stick to DSMs. All I was trying to say is that a 9 second car on street tires is nothing unheard of, and most certainly not limited to Japan.

  • Its an old video. It was fairly unheard of at the time. Same thing then how many dsm cars are there running on on legal tyres?? Not too many.

  • Alot here in Miami, its because of the Puerto Ricans they breathe, eat, and sweat rotary.

  • rofl

  • its a 13 B.....learn ur engines

  • 13b from a na FC? jk u mean a 13b-rew right?

  • at around 40 seconds into the clip, he says its a 13B.

  • did they mention what kind of motor it is using, i assume 20B...

  • Looking right at the manifold from when they take a look at the engine bay it's clearly a 13B...

  • should put a t88 in it

  • Why? T51 flows almost as much and they arent runnung that much boost anyway.

  • it would be funyand probly run 7's

  • Cause many ppl out there only care about how big the turbo is....

And don't realise that bigger the turbo bigger the lag, more air pressure that needs to be run through it...

Dw you hit the nail on the head :)

  • Yeah it seems like anyone around my age(24) and younger thinks fast and furious is a car bible and that everything in it is fact. Luckily i didnt really get that into it as even the first one is filled with so much BS. "NEW MOTEC EXHAUST". Fuck i hate those movies that have made ppl dumber.

  • I think thats a harsh call...anyone that calls themself a car enthusiast would kno that F&F is BS....

And theres also the minority that think anything japanese or with a turbo is rice....but these ppl are ignorant...let them think what they want cause at the end of the day we kno better
