I have a similar at home and it works fine. but you need to slam it hard not mush it down. Do it again and SLAP it. And when chopping tomatoes you need to have the skin side down.

The Slap Chop is not a new concept. I've had something like it for several years. In the infomercial, they act like it's a new thing that they brilliantly engineered. I have news for them.  They've been selling them at kitchen supply stores for decades. Same exact thing, just that mine is yellow and has a different brand name on it.

@kristikclark Yup. I've had one myself for probably just over 20 years. The only difference between the one I have and the Slap Chop is mine doesn't open up for cleaning like the Slap Chop does. But, cleaning it has never been a problem. I was even at a home show more than 10 years ago and there was someone there giving a demonstration that was a lot like the Slap Chop commercial, and selling them. He was talking as if it were a new invention as well, even though I'd already owned one for ages.

The slap chop's blades are too dull, and it needs to be mechanical (not press down manually) coz for tomatoes and soft fruits it just mushes it unless you really bang your hand down!

I regretfully bought one. What a piece of junk. Tried tomatoes, onions, green peppers, etc. Does a terrrible job and by the time you spend unjamming the clogged food, you could have done everything with a knife. Absolute waste of money.

first mistake is your using the container. second mistake, your pressing it like your a little girl. third fuck up, with the tomato yes it has to be round side up but you have to do it FAST. you are an idiot... press a knife down on a tomato like you pressed the slap chop.. the same thing will happen. now take a knife and do it fast.. it slices right through it like the slap chop does when you hit it fast and hard enough. you are an idiot lol.
