dam i slept on my sony e-series 2gig ,wish i havent done that . now the screen shows ''snow'' . Only plays when connected to the pc usb using wmp. None the less ,this is one of the most ridgid designs +reliable mp3 players. I had mine going on 2 years . Fell Multiple times , Chipped In 1 corner , Ding here N their . Lended IT out to a friend. NOTE: THe Unit + headphones are A++.... Highly Recommended ..

when my mp3 player is on shuffle mode, it always starts out with the first song on the playlist. and if i were to play it in shuffle mode and go to playlist to pick a song that i'd like to listen to, after the song finishes the player plays in exactly the same sequence as the one before i picked the song from the playlist. does that happen to u too? or there's something wrong with my mp3 player?

@TheUnforgivin100 take a small needle or sharp pencil and prick the tiny reset hole. it should be on the back, probably on the bottom left corner. make sure you feel a click. then make sure the hold switch isn't on and press any button. it should turn on. if not, then just take it back.

@TheFlippinburgers You need a special program called Content Transfer. Go to Google, type in "content transfer userdrivers" and it should be the first result. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click where it says "Download Sony Content Transfer Software 1.1 for Windows XP/Vista". Then, click on the link that says "ContentTransferInstaller-v11.­exe". Then you're good to go. Just install it and then you can use it.

@desertswimmer87 You need a Drag and Drop software called Content Transfer. It comes on the CD with the player. It's quite easy to use, when you're in Windows Explorer, hold down the mouse on the song you want to put on the player, then just drag it to the Content Transfer window.

@kingofall1986 You have to use a converter to convert it. I recommend Leawo converter because it's 100% free FOREVER and it converts videos well. An episode of Family took about 35 mins to convert. Not bad considering that it's free and the quality is good. The best option is the "iPod MP4 320X240 H.264" option (you can't miss it). Once you're done converting, just drag and drop the file into the Content Transfer window. Content transfer is the drag and drop software that came on the CD

i ran into the same problem. it seems that although the walkman plays mp4 vids in h.264 coded, same as the ipod, it won't take .m4v files which are similar to mp4. And when you try to convert the video, it says that its protected :(

i have the 8gb version of this, sound is really good but try to replace them with sony in ear earphones they sound much better compared to the stock earphone included... another thing i like about sony mp3's is the long battery life. this player is around 40 hrs. playback will give you more time to enjoy and last bit longer...

about durability -

if u drop it a few times, nothing bad will happen however you should get a silicone case and a screen protector for it cuz i didnt and that was a mistake cuz it got scratched and a bit banged up after about 4 months but that did not affect performance. About water - if you get some raindrops on it its fine, but like you said, dont put it in the toilet.

DRM i'm not sure. AAC stands for "advanced audio coding" basically those files are the format which iTunes downloaded files use which the player supports. It doesn't break easily it can get a bit scratched though if u don't have a case. For music and photos you can go into the memory of the player (on XP or Vista it should appear as "Walkman" in My Computer) and drag and drop or u can use the Content Transfer program. which is also drag and drop, but it is recomended that u use it for itunes

yupp. you can literally drag a song from the itunes window and drop it into the content transfer program for the walkman and it will show up with album art and stuff and it plays just as good. This isnt the only mp3 that can do this, but i think the walkman is the best

personally, i dont like the glossy finish, i hate getting fingerprints all over it, its really annoying. i prefer the brushed aluminum finish, all you would need is a screen protector and thats it, no fancy cases or nothing.

even though this is awesome, an ipod nano cant be beat. Both are nice, but the walkman is at a really good price and has fm radio vs any ipod. if price isn't an issue, get the nano. if youre on a tight budget, get the walkman. I would recommend both

I haven't put any Youtube videos on it, so i dont really know how. I'm guessing that after you download the video, you convert it to .wmv or .mpeg4 in a 320X240 resoultion. If that doesnt work, then i dont know how
