  • We've had solar power lighthouses in the UK for 15 years now! The Americans are starting to think about the environment at long last. Nice scenery along that part of the coast.

  • Our lighthouses have been going solar or abandoned for several years too. Sadly, many of the beautiful Fresnel lenses were dumped in the ocean. I saw a lighthouse in Oregon where most of the lens from an abandoned lighthouse had been saved and the facility operated by volunteers who help protect and preserve the property.
