Does this also work if the your getting up on a roof and the roof kinda hangs a bit out over the wall, wich makes you distance a little from the wall when you do the cat position?
I'm confused about the cat leap position, another video said tht u should not let ur arms hang but bended so tht u dont fall?? let my arms hang or bended???
I'll try this movement... for the moment I can't do it, i don't know why... I put my hands on the top of the wall but when I try to go up, my feet slip and i fall. I think it's a problem with the trainers too... what do you think?
LMAO!!!! youtube fail, i put the cc on cause tv blasting in background and i cant hear and it's like: i am dot mixed up and stay tuned into the tunnel the college to space in the eastern again walls as best you know its
How do you do a climb up if you grab a ledge and there's no wall to put your feet on? Like let's say you do a wall run up a 10 foot barrier, but the ledge is protrudes like 6 or 12 inches from the wall, your feet are dangling, and you're hanging by only your fingers. Would you have to use your elbows to climb up? But that would be bad technique, or so I hear because it's not efficient? I hope you can visualize what I'm describing lol?
@jrk987 Jrk When your dangling its all about the upper body strength you have to lift yourself up and either swing your leg over the ledge or do what he said in the video hope this helps
@TheHitManM1 you mean the "less efficient" method?
I mean anyone can just put their elbows/legs over and pull themselves over, but not only is it not as efficient, it's also less safe because you take longer to get over and you may lose balance and fall from putting your leg over.
You didn't show any progressions before the straight arm variation. Good luck to all the people who are going to attempt and fail at a straight arm climb up on their first go.
Can i get a few tips about how to lift myself up and put my palms on it cuz everytime i try it i jump off a little to the back and cant get the right momentum :O Thx for the help though :D
@Beasley2k We actually use different terminology, we are aware of the Urban Freeflow terminology, but we call a "Cat Leap" an Arm Jump based on the original french name "Saut du Bras". Not that the name matters, only the movement :)
@BenChristianFilms Sorry, I was unaware of that - I assumed the Urban Freeflow terminology was universal! True, it's only the movement that matters, but it's useful to be able to associate a term to each individual movement to uniquely identify it amongst other traceurs. It just sounded rather unprofessional when he referred to "this hanging position", although I suppose that's easier for people unaware of the terminology to associate it with what they're doing. After all, this is a tutorial!
@Beasley2k why are you such a dick who gives two shiney shits about the termoligy if youre so intrested go read a book and stop looking at the wrong tutorials
@pkanatordhug Why are you such an arrogant cunt that comments on something that doesn't concern you. If you read the entire conversation you'd understand. Now piss off and don't bother commenting again because your inferior views are not wanted.
I have watched a video before this where he said "when your in the cat position, you should lean your body up and not lean it back." but you said to lean it back because you need weight to pull up so you can go over. that makes sense but with your body leaning back you can fall because your on your fingers and all that weight is pulling down... i am not seeing the better one, i just don't get it.

xenonnati 2 years ago
no, cos hanging with ya arms bent, means ur wasting energy, which u could use to power ur climb up.
gingershaun08 2 years ago
I think it does depend really, the straightened arms do give more power, but slighty bend arms does give more grip (i use this on wet surfaces) :)

you basically need the strength of 5 pull ups to get a climb up, after that its drilling on technique.
darkmurai123 2 years ago
hey mrgfunkyman i think you just dont have a good enough technique so you use your strenght
parkourisbest9099 2 years ago
