Mace 1: Had a very old Dudley wheelchair speed controller and motors,these were upgraded in Mace 2, also a bypass circuit was made so all battery power could be dumped straight to the motors and bypassing the speed controller when needed,this acted like a turbo boost.

Mace 1: had 2mm thick aluminium armor.
Mace 2: had 3mm thick aluminium armor.

I think in Season 3, the third round had the Pit closed but had use of the Flipper, if I remember correctly

Mace 2 does little wheelies as it accelerates, like Gemini (although obviously less pronounced).

The fight went to the end of the round, both robots were still mobile so the fight went to the judges

It was never open in the 3rd round onwards, probably to make it harder and more variation (not just pitting them)
