  • Finally a great series of videos that are informative and I enjoy watching....Thank you

  • What wood do you use?

  • @YNR4X

I make my strings. I have videos on my channel.

  • I am interested in buying a bow for primitive hunting, what size and weight would you recommend for a beginner. Thanks in advance.

  • Do you make your own bow string, or which string do you reccomend.

  • Any tips on making a tillerig board as so i can see how much weight the bow draws back. Nothing fancy, just a silple one that works. Thanks

  • hello would like to know which wood to use as you bow and do I know how many pounds is my bow you see that one is finished

  • Again, nice bow, though i enjoy to torture myself more with hand tools than powertools:-).Question: what to do if i get little set?

  • @MrSnorreke A little bit of Set is perfectly normal. Some woods will set more than others and the moisture content is also a factor. Although, with a kiln dried board bow it isn't as much of a factor as with a Stave bow because the fibers are collapsed in the kiln and they will never absorb as much moisture.

If you get more set than you feel comfortable with you can back the bow with Sinu. It will actually dray the bow back quite a bit and make it very durable.

  • 5 stars. Thanks

  • You didn't talk about isolating a growth ring in the vid. Do you have to isolate a ring down the back like on some selfbows? You talked about growth rings but I'm not sure if there is one continuous ring down the back. The bows look great!

  • @yasotay you don't have to isolate in board bows. generally for the poundage he was going for, he could have even had some run off and twist maybe even pin knots. board staves are awesome, but what really makes this bow great is it's design, pyramids, are built to last and made for speed, with long enough limbs, dead accurate too. isolating is reseved for paleo-primitive staves from splits, not boards.

  • do u have to snap shoot when u shoot these kinds of bows or can u hold ur anchor point cause i heard tht if u make a self bow u have to snap shoot or u will break the bow so is tht true

  • You don't have to shoot as fast as I do in these videos. I tend to anchor for a second or so when it really counts. That shouldn't harm any bow I make.

  • man, this is just what I needed. This is the kind my first functional bow is gonna be. Thanks for doing this short series.
