Big mistake of MS to install IE6 on windows phone. Everyone is moving away from IE6 now, and is currently sitting below 10% on my clients websites.

I'm not going to be fixing IE6 issues for the sake of windows mobile users.

They should be using webkit for both windows and windows phone.

Would installing wm 6.5 replace the current touch flo 3d interface of HTC devices such as my very own touch pro 2? i really like the current UI on my phone and I dont really see why the new look on the 6.5 would be any better in my own opinion.

I own a HTC touch which came with wm6.1. I flashed wm6.5 into it (latest beta).

They really improved windows mobile over previous versions, so you should update (if you have the means to).

If you are going to buy a new phone, at least try the HTC G2 (google android) or the iphone. You don't want to get a big disappointment like I had.

Though it's better than PIE, IE6 must be more than 8 years old and is a sickness of its own. I just say "box model", which is responsible for a lot of borked web sites, becase they are "optimised for IE6". Why didn't Microsoft use newer IE engines, which are more standards-complient?

What apple fanboys need to understand that their OS is running on a 800MHz custom processor, and the HTC devices are using a more mobile economic processor at 500Mhz or less. It was only recent that Toshiba and nVidia are coming out with mobile devices th at are 800Mhz-1Ghz. microsoft has been trying to get manufacturers to make phones with better specs, but the problem lies with lackluster hardware.

It wont be laggy at all... if its lag...then it's the phone.  Nothing to do with the OS. Check WinMo 6.5 on the Toshiba T01. Extremely snappy and the product isnt even finished yet...

It's possible that 6.5 will work with most recent HTC products. XPeria, Touch HD, Touch pro and diamond all use about the same processor speed and RAM specs...

It looks really nice and I'm hopeful, but you have to admit that is "borrows" a lot of it's features from Opera 9.5 Beta like automatic fullscreen by default, the Zoom Slider from the Omnia builds of 9.5, and the large buttons at the bottom do almost the exact same thing. It's a real shame it doesn't currently support multiple tabs.
