@garioldwin newfies have a strong bite,if they really would bite,but newfies are gentle dogs,they are not easily provoked. They are used also for rescuing people out of the water,they take the drownee by the sleeve with their mouth( gently) and pull them out of the water.
Haha! My Newf, Cub, just slimed my keyboard, trying to look at the screen to see where the barking was coming from. Harry is a sweet boy. Love those brown dogs!

But I really related to your comment about a slimed keyboard. The one problem with a giant breed dog is that their head is above table level... Harry explores and slimes all horizontal surfaces in the house... very frustrating, as I'm sure you know!

considering the size of their head new founlander has probably one of the hardest bites among dogs .
