Basically the Democrats just have to tap enough of their independently wealthy supporters to run. Democrats are no less capable of making money, and once you find the ones who 1) can't be bought off and 2) don't have a problem speaking out with integrity, they can be the core of whatever movement it will take to rebuild the country. Basically the Democrats just have to tap enough of their independently wealthy supporters to run. Democrats are no less capable of making money, and once you find the ones who 1) can't be bought off and 2) don't have a problem speaking out with integrity, they can be the core of whatever movement it will take to rebuild the country. Grayson was good because he is sharp. Other Dems have to stop being so circumspect and just plainly and confidently describe the corruption running the other side.

Watching Borger and the other shills attempting to hamstring Grayson helps clarify where the left went wrong. If they were as shrill, nasty and hostile as the right-wing are on virtually every website that they infest, the left would probably be at least as successful.
Grayson lost because the opposition was bought off. With enough money you can do anything. There are always people unscrupulous enough, exhausted enough and often just plain lazy enough to prefer doing what the money says.

hmmm... it's a little misleading to say republicans want no reforms, because many of them do want tort reform and interstate competition... grayson is pretty partisan, it seems more like he's somebody that might be inhibiting compromise. For him, Republicans would need to go halfway toward universal single-payer health care.

Certainly compared to European monarchies it was but the founding fathers would be neither republican nor democrat today so it's difficult to label the constitution in that sense. The constitution draws on a lot of John Locke's idea's and the founding fathers would probably favor a form of libertarianism

Mine....has raised the Co-pay, I have to pay a higher premium each paycheck,, they cover less.... Any of you have the opposite affect? Like has your co pays gotten cheaper? Less is deducted from your paycheck for premiums? Do you get now almost 100% coverage? And finally, did your deductible go down???!!!

When I retire, and in any given day I may need heart surgery....how am I going to pay for it??? The lastest cost for 5 way by pass surgery is now almost a million dollars!!! I doubt if I can hide that much money in between my mattress to pay for my medical bill! These rethugs thats on here, HAD TO BE PAID by the insurance companies!!!

You are the most naive of all the posters here. Spending causes deficits. If you get a raise but you still SPEND above your total receipts, you go into debt! Under Bush there was a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly record of revenue into the treasury.
Clinton NEVER had a surplus; it was projected. It was not in the federal treasury.
Reconciliation is for budgets... NOT FOR NEW PROGRAMS.
Break the insurance state monopoly, then you get competition. Do your homework!

I thought the Democrats HOLD THE MAJORITY IN BOTH HOUSES... larger than Bush had in 6 years.
Why is it the Republicans' fault? I think it's the Democrats who are holding the legislation up. It should pass easily; so why are the Democrats 'dragging their knuckles?'

I do follow the money. That's why Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any President in U.S. history(no wonder he's for 'too big too fail')
And I agree with you: let's purge ALL of these phony Democrats. Although you are sooooo naive to think that these other lilly white Democrats don't receive money from corporations; just ask someone like Chris Dodd.
