I was 15 years old and at the game (section 214...we had the "weekend plan" that year).

That was without a doubt one of the most ridiculous calls I have ever seen (if anyone remembers game 7, the Devs score a goal that literally hit the back of the net and neither the ref nor the goal judge signal goal)...the Devils had no chance in this series! I also remember Terreri played incredible.

@skalover517 All true, but I watched that game. After scoring the previous 2 goals, they had ALL the momentum. Then the fans proceeded to throw their hats and towels on the ice after this call, which stopped it for 10 minutes, slowing the game down. You can find it on youtube.

@skalover517 Of course, they could have. But when you score 3 straight goals and you're at home, I'm sorry for assuming the Devils would have had some major advantages in that case. That's the point. I just think the cards would have been too stacked against the Penguins. It was the ONLY time that Pens' team faced adversity (or an elimination game) that entire playoffs. With the Devils, they faced it twice.

Thanks for the memory sjcherno77. Pens fans, get over it, you all whine about so many things even though you have been lucky enough to have three of the best players of all time (Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby) in a 20-year span. There was no kicking AND the puck hit his stick on the way in. That disallowed goal could very well have saved hockey in Pittsburgh, think about it.
