I hate to say it, but this is VERY mediocre! Not her fault--props to her for winning the contest--but I could name dozens of grad students who write circles around this. And they, at least, wouldn't give such pretentious introductions to their own poems! Talk about a big no-no. I suspect Gluck just wanted to pick something different, but I think she did a disservice to Ms. Fisher by plucking the fruit before it was ripe.
