Yes, she got into Hollywood because she saw how fun it was for her brother, but SHE actually reached a world wide name on her own. If Eric is the one with 'beauty and talent' then why isn't he in the cover of newsstands? Why didn't he win an Oscar? Why wasn't he the highest paid actor at one point in time?? Oh, yeah.. it must have been his 'talent'....

@nolegirl97 Eric got her the break in Hollywood with her first role in 1986's Blood Red and other roles through his fiance (at the time) Sandy Dennis. If you don't believe me, research it.

Eric had major drug problems and it derailed him for years; instead of supporting her brother, Julie completely abandoned her brother for decades...even AFTER he cleaned up. Shameful.

The media sells Sara Jessica Parker as some raving beauty, when clearly she is no such thing. Ditto Julie Roberts.

By all accounts, Eric is a very talented, humble, down to earth person...his sister Julia has a terrible rep as a mean, nasty woman who routinely parks in handicap spaces.

But, I've known a beautiful woman I dated (really fine) and she was a really good person. We didn't last long, because it's probably because I didn't deserve her at the time, but at least I can admit it.

I wish I could figure out why I found this audition clip so uncomfortable to watch. I think seeing Alan Boyce's astonishingly bad acting or was it knowing that both had no idea that her career would become legendary and his would go into complete obscurity. It's painful to watch!

You can tell that she had a lot of first class acting talent sculpt her into what she is today, and I doubt she'd deny that herself. Richard Gere in "Pretty Woman?" He's an awesome talent and has looks. Always has had it all. Pretty Woman? Gere carried her. I don't doubt it at all.

My guess is that she pretty much goes about her day un recognized and those TMZ moments are paid and sanctioned by her publicist just around the new release of her latest project. Again, Julia Roberts has been very blessed!

I should clarify my definition of being blessed. Julia Roberts is blessed because she is doing what she was put on this earth to do. Very few people get to do what their heart's desire is. She decided to not go to college because she knew what she wanted to do and did it. No "Master of Fine Art" was necessary for her.

Yeah, it is. I saw the behind-the-scene footage of a film called "ShowDown" and was moved by the tears of a grieving woman character. When the director yelled "cut" her expression went completely blank! A great actor or actress is simply a great liar. That's all there is to it. Pretty scary, huh? Very disturbing to watch!
