I have been pretty much in love with your album " Acoustic Minstrel" ever since i bought it. I am actually Tom Epsteins nephew i know you and him have worked together. You are an amazing artist and i look to your music for inspiration while I work on my own projects with other musicians. Keep on inspiring and Thank You
I am playing a home-made dulcimer 15/14 I made it in 1998 with okoume 5 ply on the back, cedar on the top and walnut front and back rails. I built 4 of them, this was my last one, before I decided I was too afraid to cut my fingers off to build anymore. I like playing better than building!
I used rock maple 1" that I laminated into a three piece pin block. It seems to hold ok but be careful when you drill the holes for the tuning pins. Go in once and out once, dont redrill or you will make the holes too loose!
very GOOD music!! and playing! I love hammered dulcimer!

hey Johnny:
Why should the Devil have all the good music?

This instrument was prohibited by the Inquisition for having a hypnotic sound (hence demonic).

What did you use for the pinblocks? I can't seem to find any suitable wood for the one I'm making.

Nice clean playing - I had the pleasure of meeting Russel Fluherty through Sam Rizetta, and this is a fine tribute to his memory. Please post more!

Is the santoor the same instrument? I never heard of santoor but it is here on youtube featured in much raga.

What an excellent musician. It wasn't an expression of anything on an extreme end -- it was simply played for enjoyment, I loved it.

Beautiful! Anyone know if he has any recordings available for download or otherwise? I'd jump to buy the rest of that track.
