People have yet to realize that when they hate on someone....they're equally just as stupid only adding insult to their own stupidity for a lack of being modest, informed, and poised. I really hate when people try to judge him by these totally stoned interviews, if you want sober videos, look at the ones from his miami trials. Yeah, he was bearded and somewhat bloated but there were no drugs involved
wow....how fucked up was he... he got to the point where his perception of everything was so much deeper than everyone elses..he cudnt live in such a shallow world anymore. so he drowned himself with alcohol.
@Katya1091 I agree, and I respect him fully as an artist and everything else, but I still don't think alcohol is a justified reason to get out of reality. I'm sure life is more than that. I fell sorry because I know he could have done alot more, too bad he chose not to.
if i was an interviewer, call me old fashioned, but i would find him being so wasted incredibly annoying. he cant seem to really spit out a coherent sentence. and yeah were traces of heroin found in his system when he died?...but howd they find it if there was no autopsy?
@TheBebelaura although there was no autopsy.Pam Courson always told friends she 'accidentally killed him' meaning he died supposedly by accidentally snorting her heroin(although I'm sure he tried it before, his main addiction in has last two years of life were red wine and cocaine). Anyways he(according to Pam's account)snortd a large line that was on table in their apt thinking it was blow. You wouldwant to snort way less if you knew it was heroin, especiallyifyouweredrunk. She OD 3yrs later
@leedumett444 Actually, Jim Morrison did do heroin, it's what he died of ...his friend confessed everything. He also did acid, blunts, coke, you name it. It was the 60s, he was the lead singer of a rock & roll band, and he makes it clear as hell that he's stoned 24/7, he prob doesn't mean to but you're not focused on "trying to look sober" when you're as high as he was most of the time. I don't think it's a bad thing though, back in the 60s, it was to expand the mind...Jim Morrison is beautiful.
@fannicoleely he actually didn't die of heroin, they did't find a suficient level to say he overdose they believe he died of a heart attack because a bubble of air got into his bloodstream and thats fatal. I believe someone killed him for those people that didn't know he was in the FBI's files due to the fact that he could start riots. Check it out on the web that is a true fact in the 60's they eliminated almost everyone that seemed to be a menace to them. Like john F kennedy, bobby, monroe etc
they will, they have to understand, eaven if its hard, because the things he and many, many others before and after him said, about the essence of life and how modern systems changing our consciousness and so on, are touching, belonging their existence, the existence of every beeing. so therefore, as long as we are all sons and daughters of mother nature, we are all able to understand the important things in life. because we are life. i apologize for my poor english, sorry

answer to "swagman8" : even if it is so that only 10% understood his point, it would be their duty to explain it to the next 10% of people. i absolutely disagree with you if you meant that most people aren't able to get to know his ideas..we need people who explain important things like that to the others...otherwise you would say "sorry guys but you are part of the majority of mankind who are just unable to understand what life and society is about in a deeper sense. so continue your stupid...
@Steve0773 Really though, if you've read the book, jim was ever doing acid, he did acid even almost as much as he drank Whiskey. Its amazing that he didnt go crazy like Syd Barett.
The so called zionists and also politicians, because a) there's billions to be made, and b) it's a huge medium for propaganda and mind control (see Eldon Taylor: Mind Programming), powerfeul self serving people would be foolish not to take advantage of it.
@Gilad11235 it is mostly controlled by a lot of greedy, scandalous people who would piss on your face to get it on camera if they thought it would make money. Personally, I don't know the ethnicity or the religion of everybody in Hollywood, I've never looked much into it. I'm positive there are connected people within it's main structure though,
@Gilad11235 It had a double meaning actually. Most people have some sort of conspiracy model that Hollywood is controlled by a certain group, or certain individuals; the elite, the Jews, Satan (Fundamentalist Christianity), the embodiment of western materialism, etc. I said it how I did, almost as to let people fill in the blank. As for my own understanding,
Morrison wasn't a drug addict and was known to speak very critically of drugs, especially Heroin, the supposed drug that killed him. There's a big difference between the Jim Morrison that Anne Morrison (sister), Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore and Pamela Courson speak about and the JM sold in books and in Stone's movie. Don't believe the hype, Hollywood and the Industry are owned and controlled by...well you know.
jim morrison's IQ was tested when he was in highschool. who knows how much he was hurt mentally by drugs and alcohol from that time to the time he died.
@wasteland70 people have different opinions. I for one, think YOU'RE full of shit. but other people won't have that opinion, and those people are most likely the ones who agree with you. I'm not saying my opinion is more superior to yours, either.
Who are you, telepathyfever? That's not a typical lyric at all... that's not even an example of his poetry. Go find something real. Otherwise, your comment is completely worthless. Look up the lyrics to "Riders on the Storm" or any great classic.
I don't need my art spoonfed to me. In fact, i go so far as to create my own on a daily basis. Now is it your disillusioned view of life that makes you connect to jim morrison?
I'm not a slave to anything other than the corporations that run the country i live in.
Here is a typical example of "doors" lyrics. these guys were WAY overrated "All hail the American night! What was that? I don't know Sounds like guns...thunder. (Roadhouse Blues) ...Alright! Alright! Alright! Hey, listen! Listen! Listen, man! listen, man! I don't know how many you people believe in astrology... Yeah, that's right...that's right, baby, I...I am a Sagittarius The most philosophical of all the signs But anyway, I don't believe in it I think it's a bunch of bullshit, myself"
i simply copy and pasted from a quick google search of "doors lyrics" so i make no claim to accuracy. i'm still waiting for someone to counter with a good quote from his instead of expecting me to take his brilliance at their word.
"oh, uh joy. pure like, uh, a celebration of... uhh... existance, you know? and, like... the coming of spring or the sun rising or something like that"
because we all know that IQ and creativity are so closely related...
someone give me 1 example of anything interesting this guy had to say. all you keep coming up with is "but he WAS deep" with nothing to back it up. i've come up with 2 examples to the contrary so far.
@telepathyfever lemme take a stab at this. I used to be really into the doors when I was younger, mostly because they are completely unique when your tripping balls on LSD-25. I've had both bad trips and good trips with a doors soundtrack, the only thing that I'd say is comparable to the effect of hearing this shit on LSD, is listening to the Grateful Dead - which I prefer these days.
Morrison was a creep - he was good singer, but his main goal I think was to just fuck anything that moved.
@telepathyfever Also, when you eat enough acid it kind of gives you this like... 6th sense. In his case he used it to seduce every chick he could. Manson used it for helter skelter. They say when Jim walked into a room, you could FEEL it without seeing him enter. I don't think the Doors would be a house hold name if everyone wasn't tripping balls back then. Riders on the Storm is a suck song - I've never liked it, but when you're tripping it's completely different. It's fucked up.
@voodoochile68686 : Havent said anything about Jim Morrison at all? I adore the guy, but its a damn shame he died early, and if the whole world was hooked on dope, it wouldnt be a pretty world, i surely hope you agree, and if you dont, well, then then you dont:-)
There wouldn't be wars because everyone would have forgotten what the problem was in the first place. HOWEVER, there maybe casualties because everyone forgot how to use guns and then BOOOOM! Someone's head would be blown off trying to make the chamber into a bong accessory! >;)
Sorry, that was way too true to be funny. Jim Morrison was an incoherent, self-centered douche, and Bill Murray nailed it so perfectly that I couldn't tell it wasn't Jim.
How do you figure he was clearly on something powerful here maybe LSD who knows and used it to express EXACTLY what his heart desired musically you can see him searching for the words coming from the depths of his soul man... Its beautiful
Art in the broadest sense, encompassing religion, science, politics..
Jim let his life be a blank canvass and when we look back we see the king of sub-consciousness, most consciously calling us, with cries of laughter, from our Neanderthal notions of right and wrong, good and evil, truth and falsehood, freedom and slavery, life and death.
I don't believe every great poet "found it necessary to over-consume everything he could." I mean, the name William Wordsworth, who lived a pretty healthy life until age 80, comes to mind. It's questionable as to whether Morrison qualifies as a "great poet." I'd say "The End" is pretty brilliant, but stuff like "Horse Latitudes," a more obvious attempt at groundbreaking verse, does not endure well. He didn't even write the best-known Doors song, "Light My Fire." Robby Krieger did.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
how in the hell would you know that.just cos you die doesn't mean you all of a sudden get enlightened.the human body can only take so much and if you really think about it he wasn't that great.good riddence.
The road *TO* excess leads to the Palace of Wisdom.
Like all great poets, Jim found it necessary to over-consume everything he could. This obviously led to his demise..but it was a necessary sacrifice of his mortal shackles in order to break on through to the other side.
dude...i'm no scholar or anything but i belive it actually IS the road "OF" excess....not that i give much of a shit, either way...i just hate it when people correct minor grammatical errors in comments on youtube....i mean, come on man...get a life
Its easy to make fun of a madman with close up footage...I think the bill murray audition is a funny little spin though and Morrison would have got a laugh at it too
People can become more interested in iconic characters like Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix than in what they strived to communicate to the world. There's nothing wrong with that but surely what these people wanted more than anything else was for their music to be understood and appreciated. Then, by understanding the music, you will hopefully come to understand the man.
arthurjimbo, i've read about that i think you've too, but as they said, noone really believed that jim was turning his back for the hippies and the summer of '67, and the west and los angeles that the band had risen from

Some people get a sense of spiritual depth from Jim Morrison and some don't get it.
Maybe it's subjective, I don't know.
Some people get Einstinian relativity some don't. some people get Jackson Pollack some don't.
some people get evolution some don't.

While trying to answer, poor Jim is distracted by an electric phoenix rising from the ashes of melting walls of azure. Oh Jim ... God love him! LOL!

On his death-bed he received total personality integration. He didn't believe in it, but got it anyway.

Total personality integration, huh? Is that something Bill Gates developed for Jehovah Enterprises?
ZenBarracuda 3 years ago
Maybe it's a theory of Jung, the Swiss psychologist. I don't know but total personality disintegration sounds the liklier.

Its easy to make fun of a madman with close up footage...I think the bill murray audition is a funny little spin though and Morrison would have got a laugh at it too

I dont think Jim was a Hippie..as a matter of fact he made fun of hippies

i think that 90% of people in his time and ours didn't even know what jim was really all about, they couldn't understand. what do you think?
Swagman8 4 years ago 10
People can become more interested in iconic characters like Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix than in what they strived to communicate to the world. There's nothing wrong with that but surely what these people wanted more than anything else was for their music to be understood and appreciated. Then, by understanding the music, you will hopefully come to understand the man.

arthurjimbo, i've read about that i think you've too, but as they said, noone really believed that jim was turning his back for the hippies and the summer of '67, and the west and los angeles that the band had risen from

Did a generation ever have its collective head more up its own ass then the hippies?
