I have a question my phone got all the way to the last step and was searching and while it was searching said i had one voice mail than a few seconds went by than it says no service what do i do restart the phone and try again?

@matterdj it seemed like you got through and unlocked your phone because you received an email from your service provider (any non-At&t wireless provider eg. T-mobile, Sprint, etc.) Sometimes you might just not have coverage in the particular area without knowing it and the whole process is fine. If it gets to this point try toggling airplane mode ON and OFF and waiting to see if you pick up the signal from your provider. Try it in another area where you know u have reception. Hope this helps =]

@Viper11220 Thanks for replying back but i think i have tried that and the gevey welcome shows back up but when i try to redo the whole process it just shows invalid sim and does do anything could it be my gevey ? if so do you know where to get a really good gevey sim i could buy?

@matterdj sure, i do have a question before you buy the Gevey sim though; What is your iphone 4's firmware? Is it 4.11.08? As of now if you're on the iOS firmware 5.0 or 5.1 or if you're baseband is 4.11.08 then unfortunately its not unlockable and the Gevey sim will not work.

@matterdj @matterdj okay well there are a few web sites in mind but it all depends on you. If you want to take a risk but buy it at a cheaper price then go for eBay. If you want to minimize the risks but are willing to pay more then go to applenberry's website. Its under store/gevey-sim/gevey-ultra . This GeVey is called the Ultra GeVey sim; it will work flawlessly without needing to jailbreak your device. If you have any question regarding that GeVey sim please let me know.

@Viper11220 yeah will i bought one from ebay and got it put it in and it said no sim card :/ and my sim card is already cut and you have to cut it just a little more which i did and tried turning off and stuff still no sim card could it be that i bought a crappy gevey?

When will all of this not be required anymore? The whole airplane mode process takes a very long time and it seems that I have to do it a couple of times a week. Is there any hope that there will soon be an unlock that will not require all of this?

@sazin2supreme I agree this does take long. This was supposed to be a temporary unlock until the DevTeam figured a way around to unlock the iphone. Unfortunately, a few of the hackers which were part of the unlock process were hired by Apple. As of now for the iPhone 4 there r other Gevey sim cards that r actually better than the one i used in this video. The newer one's r simpler; no need to repeat the whole unlock process everytime the phone shuts-off. Check it out in the other video i posted.

@sazin2supreme the Dev team hasn't informed anyone on the unlock yet. If it does come out then yes, it will most likely be available via Cydia just like the previous unlocks. However, this is just a speculation and any of this info can change at anytime. Sometimes the Dev team and other individuals help collaborate and that may further speed up the process. If there is any new information I receive you will be the first to know. I will keep you posted =] thanks for asking.

@INDIGNITYBOY sorry, unfortunately there isn't a way to downgrade from 4.11.08 to 4.10.01; the iPhone 4 with a baseband of 4.11.08 is currently unlockable even if you downgrade the firmware from iOS 5. As soon an unlock comes out i will let you know right away.

i knew it wasn't ganna work but i tried to downgrade the baseband and couldn't. ended up with the apple icon on the screen for hours and hours. :/ Do you have anyway to fix that?

@meme050679 did you dial 112 and then hang up within 2 seconds after you saw the 1 siginal? Do that then toggle airplane on and off and see if that helps

@djcontempo5 What firmware are you on? If you are using the 5.0 or 5.0.1 then the GeVey sim will not work. If there is any changes or new updates with the GeVey sim i will let you know right away.

just to update on my last comment.. i have just gotten signal for t-mobile no more then a min.. and then a error message no sim, and now its just on no sim in the corner.. ??? what could be the problem?

@hamtownplaya its seems like ur GeVey sim is working but what probably happened is that u may have cut your sim card a bit too much. The reason i say that is because if you get the "No Sim" error it is usually because the sim is not aligned properly. Often its when you try to fit your sim in the gevey and cut too much off the edge.I would get another sim card and try cutting only a very small square on the top right portion of the sim where that annoying black chip protrudes downwards. =] Gluck

Im having a problem with the 112 set up, i get to turning on and off airplane mode and i get both errors the sim failure and no sim and then i redo the airplane mode on then off and my phone doesnt go to searching it says those to errors again and then stays at no sim... please help, thank you.

@aamrizwan are you able to get the welcome screen? if not then do you get the "no sim" signal? if you get this message then the placement of the sim is incorrect. it has to be lined up perfectly until that message disappears. It may take a bit of time fidgeting around with the sim until u get the right placement.

@jsligs Is it your touch screen working? You many have to close all programs running the in background. This may be hindering the welcome screen.

i figured it out. you were pretty much correct viper. I had installed "slideaway" from Cydia (a nifty alternative to the lockscreen) and it caused problems with Gevey compatibility. Removed that from Cydia. and it worked. then reinstalled after unlock. bingo.

@TutankhamunDrummer If you are getting the "No Service" message you can try these 3 things. 1) Turn on your Airplane mode for a minute and turn it off and see if that resolves the problem. 2) You maybe in a place where you dont have service, that is very common sometimes. 3) If neither 1 or 2 worked then power down your iphone, take out your sim card, make sure its aligned properly inside the Gevey sim and retry the steps again. Hope that does the trick =]

@leopert22 If it says no simcard that means you might of cut the sim card a bit too much. you have to make sure that the sim card is not loose inside the Gevey sim tray. You have 2 options 1) buy a new sim card and try cutting it again but be careful not to cut too much. 2) Here is what I did with one of my friends sim card... since it was cut too small i crazy glued a little piece of the edges that were cut off to make it fit perfectly inside. Please make sure that it's dry before putting back.

@cyndyq1 Try turning on airplane mode for about a minute then turning it off. Then retry the steps again. If that doesn't work then shut down your phone take out your sim card and reinsert it again and start up your phone again and follow the video tutorial. Make sure ur sim card sits in place properly in the Gevey sim. If you get the "No Sim" message then its not aligned properly. For example if you cut too much off the corners the sim card might move around.
