@kissklassics i agree cause people in the band know what they say next but say if gene says sixteen by accident thats what paul and ace and pter are suppose to say
Anyone think Pete was coked up? You BET he was. Coke destroyed his playing. He got worse every year and by the time 79 rolled around he was nearly useless.
@MrAlverez The thing is, is when its your own song, whos to say hes messing it up? maybe he just got bored with singing the same thing and wanted to cange it up a bit. That's the beauty of live shows, you get it fresh every time.
@chumon1992 that's not true. you can throw the whole band off by going off course...even a little bit... just look at Peter's face as he's trying to guess when to come back in... anybody that's been in a band know you stick to the agreed arrangement
The Larger the Stage.. Larger Gene's Ego. And worse the music got... I Love Kiss. Saw em twice but 1975 was the year. I was 3 so I never saw that. Still rule no mater what!
Just when I thought it was safe to comment. I just heard on the local news on Sunday night that another group is trying to save the Arena and have it designated as a historic landmark. I guess I spoke too soon.
I saw Kiss in Pittsburgh in 1977 ( I think it was February ). It was a "Festival" seating concert ( you didn't have assigned seats, run and claim ). My name is Kristine and I was almost 16. I still "claimed" the song as my own anyway. The city of Pittsburgh recently decided to tear down the Civic Arena where Kiss played since we now have the new Consol Energy Arena for the Penguins.
That's a bummer about the Civic Arena. I was from WV and from 83-90 I saw the best shows there; Motley, KISS, Judas Priest, Krokus, Y&T, WASP, Poison, David Lee Roth - Speaking of Pittsburgh I remember seeing Motley and Accept at the old Stanley Theatre...It was crazy. Great times in Pittsburgh for sure!
Great, but I prefer the slower studio vs. w/ piano. its funny how they got away w/ this statutory rape thing in conservative, moralistic USA, but I guess it was the '70s. Here in Brazil, parents may get mad about their underage daugthers going w/ older guys but if the guy is famous(i.e. a pop star, actor or a rich), the same parents will applaud and authorities couldn't care less.
Rock n Roll is about the MUSIC!! most rock guys who have done drugs etc will tell you that it was WASTED time! Aerosmith are a good example! they have said they wished they had more focus on the music than drugs during their bad period of the late 70's! some bands just get sucked into things that drag them down
@dagosburnindown right on dude. lol I'm 15 and I totally agree. I'm a rocker myself, and yea i partake in the general rock n roll activities if u know what I mean, and it is mostly about the music, but ya gotta hv fun some time right?
its not half as rocking as some of the fun we could have together if we beat each others skins and had an intense game of man twister! you rock my world sexy clint!
Why do some insist on saying he was not a good drummer? Well, I know nothing of drumming technique; however, Peter gave his soul out and broke his back when playing, especially his solos. Seeing him in action in the 70's still gives me the goose-bumps.
With previous comment about Led Zepplin. They weren't so bad except that they stole most of there songs. Before you rip me up, search it yourself and you will see. They did a comparison on the Stern Show about this.
I saw this great Kiss show , and with the help and inspiration of a local Rockville Musician, Tony Rigopoulos ( Tony ROMEO ) I put together my first band Public Enemy with he and his brother , Andrew Rigopoulos now lives in Laguna two were much better in a band than ACE and Paul and I heard Tony sing vocal parts from Rush and Zeppelin that would make most guys cry He also is Rockville's best guitarist for rock. He also plays bass and keyboards.Robert Sherman Washington Talent Rockville Maryland
Great musicians but their songs put me to fucking sleep, I don't care how great their drummer is. IMO, KISS blows Zep off any stage without even half trying.
@greenblue1979 They wore costumes and played the same boring rock and roll in all they're songs! The stage of led zeppeling is far way different to this paint, fire and lights circus!
Aw the 70s, when Pedophile was a word, you had to look up in the dictionary to find out what it meant.

Yes, Gene does mess up quite a few parts of the lyrics, however, I enjoy the songs that he sings more than I enjoy those sung by Paul Stanley.
