turn it all the way off hold the home button and plug it in (still holding in the home button) you will get the same image, but plug it into itunes and hit restore.
that happpens to mine all the time:[ well, all u hav to do is click on the restore button n wait a while. but remember to plug it in like everyday cause sometimes, if u dont, then it'll just happen again.
ok dude hears what u do u get on ur computer and download ibrickr_v0.91 it will say boot my phone it works with itouch after that the screen will eather turn red or green u want i to turn red and it should start up ur ipod but if it turns green ur SCREWED and i dont know what to do hope this works 4 u
all u need to do is got to black rain.com and download it and connect your i pod and when it is done downloading click make it rain

When you get an itouch 2gen. You need to download the new itunes 8.0. it wont erase your songs or anything.
