Common, I thought Anna's acting in this scene was very realistic. You can tell the initial disbelief, then the panic, and then the sheer terror at being burned alive. If this happened to any of us, we would be on the floor in a fetal position, screaming like an animal, and crapping our pants.

This scene annoys because I actually really love Sookie. Most of the time I think she's awesome, this scene makes her look really annoying. And Anna Paquin is a good actress, she can do SO much better than this.

What would've made the most sense, though is her reacting to smoke inhalation..... Or they could've gone all Harry Potter and made the fire like Fiendfire. This combination just looked silly, though.

@Outrajess I realize that, but that's not really an excuse for Sookie's end of the whole debacle being so shoddy. The people who make this show are all professionals, directors included, so it's their responsibility to make a show that's both believable and enjoyable from all ends.

@SilencedByGreed She was close enough to the flames to feel the heat and the sparks in her hair and she was trapped and couldn't get out.  That's enough to cause anyone to panic. I admit I wasn't impressed with the special effect itself, but Anna's acting is very realistic.

If I was actually on fire, I'd scream my head off and offer just about anything to whomever could staunch the flames. In this case my perception is that it's just a little heat; she doesn't look like she's burning, at least.
