That fire was low enough that she probably could have ran through it. She would still have gotten burned, but she maybe could have patted them out or something.
Why does everybody bash Anna/Sookie so hard in this scene? Like you wouldn't be screaming you're head off if a crazy possessed witch trapped you in a circle of fire?
Wow...so much judgment over a 30 second clip that she's hardly in...and isn't burning, incidentally. She's watching the flames come towards here, panic is building, she's not being burned.
The level of idiocy from You Tube viewers is astounding.
Common, I thought Anna's acting in this scene was very realistic. You can tell the initial disbelief, then the panic, and then the sheer terror at being burned alive. If this happened to any of us, we would be on the floor in a fetal position, screaming like an animal, and crapping our pants.
Haters need to shut the fuck up,If you dont like the series or the acting just dont watch it. Plain and simple. I love her and her acting in this scene was VERY good (:
well i think it was really good... i mean what would u do??? there are vampires outside , yes but they cant help u as ussually!!! the werwolfs are on V.. so they are no Help as well.... and the people in the room cant move!! now, you`re about to burn.... what would u do? just stay there and relax.. be realistic... u would scream .... well i would... i would freak out!!!!
This scene annoys because I actually really love Sookie. Most of the time I think she's awesome, this scene makes her look really annoying. And Anna Paquin is a good actress, she can do SO much better than this.
Um, there's fire.... So I'm just gonna freak out when it's not actually burning me or anything. Just gonna stand here and look like an idiot. Yep, a good yard between me and the fire every way around, and I'm just gona scream and whine like a toddler.
@SilencedByGreed Lol, what is she supposed to do, try to jump and hope Marnie doesn't toast her with the flames? Or hope that she jumps high and hard enough to not land right on the fire? Please.
@Outrajess No, I just think this scenario called for the flames being/ moving closer, or maybe some burns, OR she could've just kept her cool. What would've made the most sense, though is her reacting to smoke inhalation..... Or they could've gone all Harry Potter and made the fire like Fiendfire. This combination just looked silly, though.
@SilencedByGreed Smoke inhalation and the heat. But really the point of the scene is Eric and Beel feeling her fear so the rest is pretty much secondary.
@Outrajess I realize that, but that's not really an excuse for Sookie's end of the whole debacle being so shoddy. The people who make this show are all professionals, directors included, so it's their responsibility to make a show that's both believable and enjoyable from all ends.
@SilencedByGreed She was close enough to the flames to feel the heat and the sparks in her hair and she was trapped and couldn't get out. That's enough to cause anyone to panic. I admit I wasn't impressed with the special effect itself, but Anna's acting is very realistic.
@SilencedByGreed You're a tougher person than me. I would terrified if I was trapped in a giant circle of fire that I couldn't escape from. Burning to death is a terrible way to die.
@EnchantedSweetheart Well no one said anything about actually being burned. Don't they do these 'inside a circle of fire' things all the time like it's no big deal? If I was actually on fire, I'd scream my head off and offer just about anything to whomever could staunch the flames. In this case my perception is that it's just a little heat; she doesn't look like she's burning, at least.
@Chify123 except Bella somehow manages to be terrified whilst having no expression whatsoever...and Edward as well actually...I guess there's an overabundance of botox in Twilight as well as sparkles.

I blame the special effects people. I feel like they told her it was like Harry Potter Fiendfyre, which would've made this whole thing make sense.

@EnchantedSweetheart No. Honestly, I think I'd just be like, "That's it? ooh, I'm trapped!... And now I'm bored....."
But then I can't say for certain because I've never actually been trapped in a circle of fire.

@SilencedByGreed The risk of catching fire by being that close to the flames isn't scary to most people? Thats where her fear was coming from.
