Cerwin vega's so easy to drive you could have a weak amp they can pump it out, im using ve-12 im very happy with them, good value for money. unless you buying a pair these rude boys, stick with the ve 12 best value

You are as crazy as ME. I use 4-18" Woofers for mains - 2-12" Woofers for Center - 4-15" Woofers for Surround and 4-15" SUB-Woofers. 160 ounce Magnets on the woofers. It's to die for.

Also i do believe you can wire the subs separate from the top end, that's how you keep the top from blowing!

just bought a pair of xls 215s and they sound great for the money, have tried all kinds of music and movies, they sound good with my parasound amp,or my anthem amp, or my adcom 555 amp, they even sound good with my 33yr old pioneer spec amp,right now i am breaking them in slowly in my 2 channel system, but will be using them in my anthem h/t system, no there not considered high end by some high end snobbery retailers of today but for 1200.00 a pair they are a good value and they are efficient.

I just got an SX-1200 power amp and the S-curve 215 graphic eq both from Samson and I am loving them very much. Good power, good sound quality, I ws amazed. What you got right there on the floor is a couple Samsons correct?

I'm also going to pick up a pair of these speakers to go along with it. I'm making a bass/hi-fi system.

@Maester The sound quality is very good, compared to older cvs! And actully a home teater amp will work if its a good brand, we tested my friends nad wich delivers 40w per chanal, and it made em play very loud!

@Maester Yeah these speakers are good if you want decent sound quality and high SPL ;) but, you shouldn't play to loud with a low power amp. I believe these speakers peak at 500W, so you should get something that is at least 400-500W per channel @ 8-ohms. (otherwise you risk blowing the tweeters easily) i have a pair of the previous version (cls-215), and they sound pretty good and they can play pretty loud and yes they have a LOT of bass! they really shake your room :p

@faustsmith they are both tuned to 24 Hz but since the xls-215 is the upgraded version of the cls series i would think the xls would sound a little better. they improved the crossover system and changed out the drivers for some better ones. i can't find any engineering drawings as this is not PA, but they will both scare the shit out of you and the neighbors!

@LifeRunner4000 yeah just use a big enough amp. mine had a problem when i got them. but i think the problem was in the xover. some of the caps might have blown haha. they were very abused, borderline raped from the previous owner, but except for the hf they sounded great :)

@aprilialover125 Actually 450wpc at 4ohm is perfect. These are in fact 4ohm speakers.

And the tweets have breakers on them so they can take whatever knocks the breakers :D

(yes I have tripped the breakers once, it was at a nice 118dBA too)

that's awesome that the tweets have breakers cuz with my old pair of cls-215's they are not playing at all. but i think it might be the x-over. any idea on how to fik it w/out changing the whole x-over board?

@mistretzu18 For the speakers i paid 24000 swedish krons. Thats about 3200 dollars, and for the total speaker setup with amps i paid 41000 and thats about 5500 dollars.
