I saw them back in 1995 here in Ventura, CA. playin' at the Holiday Inn. I called a couple buddies, we grabed our women and checked it out. I'm so fucking glad I did. Couldn't have been more than 20 people in the audience, we were 6 of them, but Popa & his band played their asses off! I feel very lucky to have been there and after the show I walked up to thank them and also bought my first Popa Chubby tape - Gas Money. I still have it and I'm still rockin' to it.

Club gigs are better for shure, but I too wanted to se Edgar Winter that day, there was no chance to see Edgar in a club in Germany. Popa is a must see in a pub or club if you have the chance to!!

nice guitarist strong band sounds like he is a deep south blues man at heart with a nice free style mix wonder how it would sound on a les paul/ his style suits the strat does sound a bit like rory G at times

I have all his CD`S and he is always amazing.He sometimes sounds very bluesy and other times very country with a Rock edge. Very original sound.Plays with so much soul. I wish more guitarists played like this. I think the great Jimi Hendrix would have appreciated this music.

popa is no imitation of anyone.

He has his own style. mixes delta blues with hard rock and even metal elements. Thats why he is so sucessful. if you compare him to someone the Rory Galagher would be real close
