something being more complex doesnt mean its more skillfull in my opinion.Theres less complexity to turntablism, but it's a hell of alot more skillfull. scratching can take years to learn, not to mention the fact that it's much more entertaining to watch and perform that way. With the digital stuff it seems the only task your faced with is learning where the right buttons are and getting your head around what does what. It's a shame in my opinion and it's taking the art of dj'in.
tell u sumut.u av a gret skill mate,ya can get a bit anoying after a wile but ur a great dj.nice 1,ive just got sum cdj 400s after watching sum of ya vids, nice 1
that depends on what kind of dfj you are/ want to become for scratching purposes etc the 800 is best suited because of the larger jogwheel, on the other hand the cdj 400 (i have 1 at the moment) has a few audio effects wich CAN be fun and can control serato or pioneer's DJ"S software via usb
I wouls advise the CDJ 800 because they look more like the part, I have neither nor any cdj's but from my experience cdj 400's are moe for bedroom dj's even thought they are well fit for clubs aswell but cdj 800 relate more to the club standard 1000's, sorry if the question was already answered thats my opinion anyways, hope it helps
i currently have cdj 800's and going to buy cdj 400's soon. the cdj 800 is too simple in my opinion. its got no effects which can make your mix boring. If you are not a scratch dj, but the cdj 400. If you have enough money, buy the cdj 1000 mk3 . Also, im buying the cdj 400 because of its smaller size and capability of using an ipod, which means you can carry less stuff around when going to your gigs
great store just ordered 2 pioneer cdj 800mk 2s a numark 2050 mixer and some citronic ed fones plus 2 heads nstylis for my decks at £1,103.89 very good place would well recomend for dj gear
Even the mother and daughter @ 1:40 seems to like it ! This not only dance music, this is art and pure genious also. Hope you come to Portugal one day, i wont miss that.
Im sure many digital djs would argue against this. Whilst a CDJ makes things easier in terms of cue points, you can add and manipulate hundreds of effects possibly making it more complex than a vinyl dj.
true. ive mastered loads of scratch and vinyl techniques with 1210s and a normal mixer but looking at that shit makes my brain want to expload. there are too many possibilities!
if your looking to get into as in a complete beginer then ur not guna b upset with a pair of 400s, if you know the basics get 800s, youll kick yourself when you dont have the features you want in a couple of months when ur alot better, 800s are the shit, plus they wont feel out of place in a bar or club, plus theyl give u an excuse to practice cuz theyr worth a fuking fortune hahah gd luck mate
can anyone help me? when I copy data from one sd card to the other using a cdj, does it erase the data already on the card that is being written or does it make a duplicate.
You can record your voice through the headphones into the DJM 800 and use the effects unit built into that to add fx, same way you'd capture a small loop from the cdj. Adding an EFX1000 or 500 would allow you to add even more effects however.
He is and it's not a feature of the DJM 800. He has plugged the headphones into the mic input and is then using the speaker on the headphones as a makeshift mic. Any speaker can be used as a mic, same way a mic can be used as a (very bad) speaker as they use the same technology inside. It's a little known fact but a very cool trick none the less.
Whats the the best afforable cdj at the moment if you want to DJ in say small to medium clubs? I have been dj'ing for a few years but just using vynil. So cdj's are new to me , but there are SO may to choose from
If price is key to you then we can recommend the CDJ 400 which has only just come out. htfr(.)com/more-info/MR242288 which is basically a cut down version of the CDJ 1000's but also features some unique features of it's own like usb memory stick support. Otherwise the CDJ 1000's are great but cost a little more.
also.....if you wanted to sell me a cdj-400 what would you tell me to make me buy it? and.. if you wanted to sell me a cdj-800mk2 what would you tell me to make me buy it?
Without knowing your needs, its hard to advise what would suit you, as we prefer to advise customers on their needs and recommend a suitable product.
There are subtle differences between the two models, but again without knowing what you want from a CD player its hard to give you information relevant to you.
Major differences are notable, such as the new USB reader and effects on the Pioneer CDJ 400, generally speaking, I'd personally say the Pioneer CDJ 400 is better than the CDJ 800 mk2.
That woman in the back is totally in love.

Seems like cd dj-ing is a less talented way to produce the effects skilled vinyl djs take years to master. Just a thought.

The CDJ 400's has got more feautures then the 800's because the 400's was made later then the 800's... so I Recommend the 400's..
