@xplorerBDTH secularism is good. but i'm not in favour of the secularism that gives rise to atheism and hedonism, which is what happened to many developed western countries. separation of religion and state has helped them keep religion in a sacred place, but religion has suffered and the society as well. religion is an integral part of a nation (especially one like ours), in its culture and identity but not as a governing tool. we shud learn from the problems in those western countries

Thanks for your kind words and feelings. Our ethnicity & root culture is as important to us as our religion. Islam may be dominant religion in bangladesh but we also have a very rich culture which dates back thousands of year, even before the birth of islam. We have maynamati & paharpur archeological sites date back 2000 years from now.  Majority in bangladesh feel comfortable to say that Bangladesh is a secular progressive country. I personally think religion alone can't unite nations.:-) Love.

I also want to say that I somehow feel connected to this ad. Perhaps because of the fact that we were once together. Keeping the politics out and regardless of our ethnicities, there is one string that ties us together and that is Islam. No matter what has happened between us in the past, and whatever painful reasons for those tragic events might be, we must accept that we are actually one nation.
