  • great legs stunning splits

  • Belissima performance!

  • nice and soft

  • Finally a dancer worth watching. Finally someone who can actually dance. Thank you

  • i loooooooooove the part where u were belly rollling combining with shimmies... i hop u can upload a video teaching how to practice and learn it! thanks!!

  • @Mariposa2707 Thank you! So to start, you're going to need to be able to belly roll, then belly roll in a supine plank position. You'll be using deep core muscles for this. Then practice a shimmy, which is more of a tiny twist in this supine plank. Then add the belly roll and try to keep the back straight- unless you want to change the belly roll into an undulation, which is beautiful too, but looks a lot different. Good idea for me to make a video, I will try. Happy Dancing! Tara Star

  • This is so amazing and beautiful. I've been a dancing ballet, tap, and jazz since I was four and I'm starting to fall in love with belly dancing. You look like you feel empowered. :) you have more muscles than some of the girls in my dance class.

  • @theovercastkid Thank you! I'm so glad to hear you are falling in love with Bellydancing! xo Tara Star

  • Wow... that was amazing! I have never seen someone deliver as passionately as you. Great job.

  • Your armwork is amazingly fluid, and I could watch the muscles in your back move all day. A very beautiful dance.

  • beautiful belly and legs

  • Thank you for the information Tara. I will definitely check out those books. :)

  • xoxox Welcome!

  • Bellydance is much older than the 3 main patriarchal religions of the last 2000 years that are repressive to women and especially their sexuality. Read- "Sacred Woman Sacred Dance" by Stewart and "When God was a Woman" by Stone.

  • This is VERY beautiful. I am going to be taking my first veil class soon. :)

Your floor work and arm/hand movements seem MUCH more sensual to me than actual shimmying.

I was told that Egyptian Belly Dancers are not allowed to touch the floor during their dance because it is considered too provocative... Is that true?

  • Hi timegrrl

This dance is not egyptian style and yes I think there are some rules about floorwork, but many dancers still do floorwork if they are dancing with shamadan. Floorwork is what remains of the sacred fertilty ritual we now call bellydance. Bellydance is very old, its roots are sacred, then it became folkroric with socio-political changes and the ancient meanings were lost. Now it is entertainment.

  • Outstanding!!
