  • So what are all of the different words you can spell? I know about "EXTEND", "HERO", and "NEVER", but apparently there's also something with a "V", an "I", and a "T"?

Also, what happened to your annotations? I was enjoying those.

  • HERO - 1 Extra Life

    EXTEND - 2 Extra Lives

    NEVER - 3 Extra Lives

WINNER - 5 Extra Lives (Über hard to spell)

Popping a letter belonging to a different word will convert what you have into the new word, discarding the rest.

Also, I abandoned this run because I felt I could do much better. I never got around to doing all the annotations, I find.

  • Thank you for level 21. I never got how to do that one.

  • What does the bell at the start of 32 signify?

  • If I recall, you can grab the Cat Bell as an item. What it does is it will ring at the beginning of the stage if an item that affects the entire screen will appear.

So for example, the cross to flood the stage, the Bomb to blow up all enemies, etc. That bell will ring if it WILL happen. You loose it if you die, however.

  • There are things written on the wall in the Fairy rooms.

Interesting, because those letters were in the NES version's hgidden doors also. The symbols were explained in the game once, so people could understand the writings on the wall. Maybe those are the same symbols as they were in the NES vesrion?

  • Do the fairy doors show up in Standard Mode? I got to level 17 and never saw it.

Then after finishing Arrange Mode it mentioned the fairies and I didn't know what it meant because I played terribly and used a bunch of continues.

  • I never see doors in standard. I mean I never seem to be able to avoid Continuing around 19, But I get the feeling they were made for arranged mode.

  • Where do the Fairy Doors take you? Bonus level?

  • Sort-of. They bring you to a secret room in place of the next stage. Just a free passage will a whole bunch of 700-point gems.

These rooms exited in the old game and I heard that these gems were worth 10,000 points a piece. (holy crap).

  • Hey Sae what kind capture card are you using?

  • Conexant 2388x Video Capture

Any capture card works OK. It's just how you do the processing that's real important.

  • Let me guess that the Skeleton guy who appears in Hurry Up! follows you through the map.

  • Yep.

That is Von Blubba. He shows up when you've spent to long on a stage. He will remain on-screen chasing you in a linear pattern. He can only traverse one axis at a time, but the longer he stays on screen, the faster he gets.

Oh yeah, one appears for EACH player on the stage. So yeah, he's not fun to avoid.

  • He's pretty cool IMO. xD

  • Fireballs? YUM!

  • Saes, will you be doing Donkey Kong Country 3?

  • Yes, If I can ever get it off my DVD Recorder...
