When children eat they should be carefully supervised by adults at all times, specially when eating hot dogs, grapes, popcorn since these foods are a choking hazard. Sigh, kids that young are supposed to be chunky! He has perfectly healthy foods. Actually Gerber sells little hotdog bites. I am most positive that they wouldnt sell anything that is unhealthy. Babies that age are supposed to have extra fat in their diets. Hence the whole milk that is so good for them. Now if the child was obese, which clearly he is not, then that would be an issue.

Yeah, if they're not cut correctly. A lot of people cut them into little circles, which is just the same size as a toddler's trachea. Cut like this mom has cut them or smaller is fine.

@laupugliese I give my almost 14 month old hotdogs all the time, but I sit their with her when she eats them and am trained in Infant/ toddler and child CPR. but I also cut them up into little circles and then cut those circles in half and then thoes halfs in to half again. I know I sound paroined but that is how I cut them so I know that she wont choke on them. it is how I always cut them for my 4 year old daughter when she was that age and it is how we cut them for the little ones at dayCare.
