that is one great sounding guitar!! awesome!! can I ask if a maple neck/rosewood fingerboard is a better combination than a maple neck/ebony fingerboard for a Swamp Ash body?? Please help.....
I'm not an expert but what I've read says that the harder the wood is the brighter the sound,(that's why les pauls have a maple cap on the mahogany) so the ebony would have the dark neck wood but would probably be a little brighter than the rosewood.
@2derrilicious1 I actually disagree that maple is "bright", I avoided maple necks forever because I thought they'd be too bright, I now have a maple neck strat and a maple neck tele and I LOVE how they both sound. If you try a maple neck guitar and disagree I suppose you could always put in a darker pickup to balance things out.
Maple is in fact brighter than rosewood. I never said they were too bright, or makers wouldn't use maple for necks. Just for the record, I have two teles with maple necks. I too find the tone pleasing to the ear like you.
I think swamp ash with a maple neck and rosewood board is one of the best tone combos you can find as long as you keep the pickup low output. Ebony boards sound harsh and very one demential to me, so we just choose not to use them.
Mikerhd89 if you're from greece i dont think you'll be buying anything for quite a while!!
