Taufik was forced to play that crazy shot because you can see Chen Hong looked like he was late in returning taufik's previous shot, so Taufik stood his ground on the front thinking that Chen Hong was gona hit a short return, but turns out he didnt lol. Wrong anticipation from Taufik but what a shot. That's magic right there.. that's pure instincs... thats Taufik.

Ha, that's chilling. He did something similar against Tommy Sugiarto too, which you can see if you search for "Taufik the badminton magician" (I made that video). For people attributing it entirely to luck; I wouldn't be so sure. Players definitely practice hitting the net chord with the shuttle, and its one of Taufik's signature moves. Maybe in this case it was luck, but other times it is definitely not. Their accuracy margins are just that good.

taufik is not 'fuckin' around', it was his usual method of play. Badminton started with a point system saying that only the one who serves get the point, that's why the pace is slower than nowadays and Taufik is really so used to the old point system
