I admit, despite some of the hammy acting, "Blood and Fire" is an excellent episode. Sadly, as I was watching this nearly three years ago, the writing was on the wall, inre: of Alex Freeman's fate. Hey, profondement, did you know that David Gerrold, who wrote this episode, first recommended it to Star Trek: The Next Generation, but it was refused - for obvious reasons. I read in an article that quoted Bobby Quinn Rice (Peter Kirk) saying that he made Gerrold cry with his protrayal of Peter. Wow!
I'm not a Trekkie perse, but I do like this revived version of Star Trek: Phase 2. Star Wars is fantastic, yes, but it slightly falls short of Gene Roddenbury's idyllic view of the future. It's also interesting to revive Capt. Kirk's nephew, Peter, and made him a gay character. Before this, Bobby Quinn Rice played 'Ro Nevin' (a gay character) in both fan-made versions of "Star Trek: Odyssey" and "Hidden Frontier." Check it out. It's here on YouTube.

I came across this in 2009, and shock overtook me at the rebirth of a project dropped decades ago. The episode "Blood and Fire" is one of my favorites, and the 'Peter' and 'Alex' characters made it seem so natural, not in-your-face. I love the music that plays right after Peter proposes. It made me tingle. So much to talk about, but not enough characters. Awesome post. Thanks.

I just have to let you know it's a torturous wait between uploads for my internet access is tethering via my Droid which sucks for uploading, but normal and fast for downloads and such. I'd be happy for help or suggestions for any of y'all who have Verizonwireless and know how to make it possibly faster(?) Files avg 330MB in size. 24hrs per upload=Very Slow :(
