  • bless u poster

  • great this is really funny keith made a mistake he starts to early and mick laugh at 21.03

  • Thank you for posting.

  • This has to be one of the greatest Stones video I’ve ever seen.

The Marquee was the location of the first ever Stones gig, for any newcomers to the religion!

They returned 10 years later, for an anniversary gig, at the height of their global fame

  • @MrCeej9999 Sorry to be pedantic, but it was 9 years later!

They were certainly at the height of their powers though, that's for sure. Although the picture quality is not brilliant, this is a piece of rock'n'roll greatness never to be heard again.

  • 71 71 dach dat ze ook in Rotterdam waren. Alleen al de voice.

    beauty for me.

  • side 2 stickey fingers cant be beat

  • INDISCUTIVELMENTE EM MARERIA DE ROCK A GUITARRA DO KEITH RICHARDS E A MAIS GOSTOSA DE SE OUVIR, SOLA O NECESSARIO E FAZ MUSICA. MAS NAO APITA. FRANCAMENTE O ACHO GENIAL. PESSOA E PROFISSIONAL DIFERENCIADO.

  • TOCA KEITH!!!

  • Quality. Just getting in to them. What's the opening track??

  • @clearviewmind Welcome to the family! ;) :P The song is "Live with me" from the album "Let it bleed".

  • @susanne1310 Nice one, Susanne :-) I shall order it! ;-)

  • YEEEEEES !!!! Thanks :D

  • F**k Me Funkenstien! - where on EARTH did you get this footage from??? It was suppose to have been lost years ago. Well done my friend...

  • Great upload. Thank you from Italy.

  • 33.01 Brown Sugar... incredible!

  • 4:00 "Dead Flowers"... amazing ...

  • Thanks Man, this is great! Reading "Life" great account of the Stones!

  • i hate when people say so and so brought me here. it bugs me but fuck it i just had to say the sexy and fine as hell pamerla anderson, brought me here

  • @thebuckrogers22 yup,, me too,,, :)~

  • Keith Richards is just the most elegantly wasted human/musician who ever lived, no questions, a tru rock n roll pirate

  • Mick Taylor is one of top five guitarists ever!!!!

  • @stalkalbany C'était un sacré guitariste !

How did they choose him ?

  • this makes me want to drink to delirium. There has never been anything like this exact assemblage.Thank you FunkensteinnJr.

  • @hrdraper- I agree. I was up for days when I first discovered youtube!

  • Do you have any idea how much sleep amazing vids like this have robbed me of? The Stones-still the best. Thx. Funkenstein.

  • Well carried on Keith's swinging guitar

  • Hey FunkensteinJr, I don't know where you got all of your footage but watching your videos seem to be the only thing I've done in the last couple of days ! Not only do you have some of the best GD footage I have ever seen, this is some of the best live Stones I have ever heard ! Now if you could only break out some JGB footage from 76-78'.... Sending a heartfelt appreciation for all of the bodacious music !!!

  • @wigginoutman

  • Love the way Taylor plays, he makes it like look like he couldn't give a shit that what he's playing is awesome. The man is just the best!

  • @deltabluesmanful That is what so great about the man. I don't think he does give a shit! He really had no idea just how good he was.

  • great find, saves me having to fork out a tenner

  • Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!

  • I think I like Keef's teeth in this era better

Why can't they teach Ronnie to play HALF as well as Mick T after 25 years? Bitch, for instance, is great to hear with a real second guitarist

  • @MontrealMort I agree. Actually EVERY song is so much better to hear with a real lead guitar virtuoso, just like Bitch is great to hear with Taylor on rhythm. I'm 18 years old and one of my biggest guitar influences is Taylor, it seems obvious to me that he's up there with the legends - Duane Allman, BB King, Peter Green, Hendrix etc etc. What a smooth touch and fluid style, I recognized him when I was 16 (too late) and it has changed my guitar playing completely.

  • Definetly Mick Taylor's bes backing band ever.

  • Mick, Mick and Keith line up clearly in the shot at 16:52, beautiful!

  • I turned a friend of mine on to this video. I hooked him up. I sent this link in

an email and said "This is an artifact. Made even before we ourselves were

    chasing after chicks."

  • This is so wonderful !!! ~ A brilliant post !!! ~ Thank you !!!

  • This is so damn cool, man. Love It Live.

    ~

  • Worth it alone for MT and Dead Flowers. Heartfelt thanks.

  • Well done Mr Funkenstein!

  • thanks bro for posting this...never new it was available...whered u get it from....is the origional much better in quality?

  • Keith looks HHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • What a band!

    They were hot back then.

This is so much better than all that stadium nonsense later.

    And it's got Mick Taylor.

I wish the sound was less murky though.

  • the holy grail of club shows.......they set the standard. Brilliant!

  • FunkensteinJr, BIGGEST THANKS TO YOU for posting this WHOLE THING!!!! I've been waiting for so long! I finally can see the whole show and it's MINDBLOWING!!!

  • the guy can play that fucking horn eh

  • snatchhog,

you´re free to join the Roman Catholics. There are over a billion of them.

  • THE BEST ROCK BLUES BAND EVER !! THIS SHOW IS THE BEST !!!

  • SUCH LOW VIEW RATINGS ON THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALLLLL TIME?

  • They should've added some reverb to the sound, to give it that thunderous Stones'edge. In my humble opinion ,this sounds very dry and rusty. On the other hand, it has a somewhat intimate living room quality. They were still recovering from the Altamont farce it seems. Still..we should be so lucky to see a band like that ,these days.

  • @PAULLONDEN I agree. I bought this on a VHS tape years ago, always thought it was rather tinny-sounding, needs that "fat bottom" so remniscent of The Rolling Stones' sound with which we've become familiar.

But, as you also noted, just lucky to have a visual record of this gig at all. And as was originally shot on videotape, for that live look ,makes one feel as if right in Marquee Club itself.

  • @PAULLONDEN I wonder if some tech-savvy audio/video guy couldn't remaster and remix the audio to give this a better sound? Because, on a High-Def screen, with better sound, this would be an incredible performance!

  • Stones forever...

  • This ain't live son, it's band rehearsals. Even better. When I join my dream band I want rehearsal to be like this.

  • Nobody and I mean NOBODY can get even close to The Rolling Stones LIVE - great video, great guitar by Mick Taylor and great music by each and everyone on the stage and first of all by Mick Jagger! Wanna get those days back into 21st century...

  • Fantastic !

This the "quintessence" of the Rolling Stones... as good as Get yer yaya's out !

(how to get good copy of it ?)

  • armstrong plexyglass guitar

  • what is keith playing here? anybody know?

  • This blows away the "Ladies and Gent's" film. I now have to own this.

  • So, so, so much better with Mick Taylor. The difference is just amazing.

  • Best band on the planet

  • Some of the Stones best live shows have been in the smaller venues such as this one. This is an awesome performance.!!

  • Yeah shimmering performance from all...Big nod to Big Bobby Keys...man he can blow...

  • GREAT SHOW...Bob Keys tears it up! Here's to not sucking in the 70's!!!

  • Sweetest vid! Merci!!

  • This is great! What a real gem.

  • COOL...THANKS !

  • Hot Damn, Hell yeah! Don't Anybody try to tell me that ain't the greatest rock and roll band in the world.

  • Gotta say, I Got The Blues is such a great song...proper good ol' rainy day Stones ballad...

  • @burnsybaby1987 Agree 100% - I Got The Blues is IMO the great underrated Stones song. So good - never gets old.

  • Mick Taylor around 22:30- INSANE!!!!

  • Bloody Hell !

One of the very best footages I have ever seen. Their satanic majesties the Rolling Stones at their maximum power. Raw, natural and fresh. Thanks a lot for uploading this genuine gem.

  • The Stones had "only" been in existence for 9 years when this was filmed. 40 years later they are still around....who knew???

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT --IT'S THE BEST

  • Thanks!!!

  • Great stuff, thanks for the post!
