  • That ball python is wayyyyyy too small for being 2-3 years old. My female is 4 feet at 3 years. My male is the same age and 3 feet long and 5-6 inches around.

  • Comment removed

  • I have 2 pythons ad they eat big mice because there huge

  • And i use terriaium moss is tht good enouh

  • He eats small mice and terriaum moss

  • hello i got aloot of my ball python things from u......I just got a ababy ball python i fed him and he hissed twice i have a 10 gallon tank hot and cold side large water dish i dnt kno the sex im using aspen as a bedding what am i doing wrong

  • 2:23 Peek-a-boo!!!

  • I have a 15 gallon tank with a hot side hide and cool side hide, a heat pad under the warm side hide, locks, a water bowl, a fake tree and leaves, and eco earth as substrate with a 75 watt infrared bulb. Is this good for a baby ball python?

  • @dave8594 yes thats perfect

  • @dave8594 You would only need the head lamp bud

  • @lolatmyfoot Yeah but I heard they need belly heat in the form of a UTH. I already got my Ball Python, he has everything I described, has already completely shed with no retained eye caps, and has eaten three times for me. I think he's fine.

  • @dave8594 He sounds perfectly healthy,

  • I've had my ball python since 2007 he is cool

  • my uncle breeds ball pythons. if you dont have alot of space ball pythons can live in 40 quart tubs. in the wild they live in abandoned gopher holes so they can live in a smaller enclosure. bigger cages are fine however you need lots of plants and cover like he has in this video for them to be comfortable.

  • Thanks!

  • imo the perfrct temperaures are such bull. all my snakers have lived perfectly in room temperature. its nto liek in the wild they only live if the temperature is constant everyday

  • @slyrez where they're from the temperature during the day is well above room temperature. without the right temperatures they get sick and dont digest their food properly.

  • Check out my new ball python

  • Check out my video of my ball python

  • Instead of a heat rock, would a heat pad work????

  • @TheRebby9 heat pads that go under the tank are way better, heat rocks can burn the snake

  • @PirateJett okay thanks

  • you pronounce python funny :P

  • thumbs up if you have a ball python thats 20 or less inches

  • @ilovewaffles561 mines 16.6

  • DasPenguin84 I could use some try out stuff.

  • Hey dude, great video - very informative and mature. By the way, I'm getting into making some reptile products, and if you're interested I could possibly send some test stuff your way to get a good opinion on - stuff like dishes, hides, and rocks. Fire me a message some time if you're interested. I could use the mind of someone who loves their reptiles to make a better product.

  • @DasPenguin85 I have many snake and could help out with testing products. I would mainly like to try out hides but whatever you could send would be fine.

  • I'm only 11, my brother lives with my dad and he has a snake, everytime I go over there I care for the snake, she's the exact same breed as yours I help feed it properly and we have a normal habitat for it, I'm trying to convince my mom to let me have one, but she hates reptiles and rodents and all that. Can you give me advice, she doesn't like me trying to ask her about it?

  • @infaououtty take him to the vet as soon as you can. They will give you medicine to get rid of them fairly quickly

  • i just got a baby ball python about a week ago and he has little red bugs on him what do i do?

  • Moron you don't need lights

  • @reptileboy10 You're an Idiot, they're cold blooded, you can't keep them Healthy in a plastic container, you're a moron.

  • @reptileboy10 yeah you do fucking retard they are cold blooded without heat lamps then they will most likely die dont waste your time commenting or spending the money on a reptile because obviously u cant take care of them your a piece of shit

  • @IRONGOOSE69r Just saying, lots of boid racks exclusively use heat cabling. All you need is the right temps. They don't benefit from actual light.

  • @IRONGOOSE69r eh dude, you're obviously one of those internet assholes so you don't have act like a big man, These particular snakes don't need UVB or any other heat source other than a heat pad, but whatever, it's personal preference, so don't be an asshole

  • @IRONGOOSE69r First because giving someone advice you should learn some correct grammar and spelling, You fucking worthless little shit !

  • @reptileboy10 lolololol

  • i got a baby ball python yesterday,he is incredibly active, and its hard to stop admirring him, hes already made a burrow, but he hasnt gone into his hide, suprisingly, unfortunatley, both my grandma, and my cat, dont like the idea of him living here,oh well, im never getting rid of him

  • your python eats frozen rats? Why don't u let them eat live rats? That is what i do for mine they enjoy killing them and eating them.

  • @Ravenite1 i wouldn't feed a snake live when i get mine coz 1 in the UK it's iligal and 2 i don't like to buy animals to instantly kill it, i don't mind if other people do it it's just i don't think i would like to feed it live + they don't like killing it, they just constrict it coz they don't think it's dead

  • @ImEatingACookie90 I feed my snake live rats cause it kind of became a habit ever since I got him however one thing is that everytime I put my hand in his cage he thinks I'm giving him a mouse and he bit my hand. So nowadays when I give him the rat I take him out of the cage and then put the rat in, then him. it has worked and he hasn't bit me for 3 years only that one time.

  • did you ever get a second one

  • nice job buddy!

  • i have a reverse albino cornsnake. great pet, and its probably a begginer choice, ball pythons are more second reptile kinda pet (about 2 0r3 years after your first) im getting a ball python for christmas. i knew most of this stuff, but for people who arent, reptile finatics.(people who are crazy about reptiles, and know almost everything)its an amazing informational video

  • God dammit I have to get one......maybe after Christmas?

Idk......probly not til at least next summer.

  • nice setup :) looove it , use to have a red tail boa 9 ft long :) male ... miss him :(

  • @beardieboy13 actually they grow a foot a year for 4 years then over time they can get up to 5-6 feet if well fed. they can also live up to 60 years not 40 like this guy said. ( I do my research before buying a new pet, that's how I know)

  • @TheTurkeyhunter13 what 3-5 feet, usually 4,5lbs at most, live for 20-30 years, record is 47 years, where did you get 60 years, 0r 6ft, the only one close to 6ft(5ft 10 was well fed and 27 yrs old. where did you get this research

  • @SuperPensfan8771 from online at dif websites and from the 7 pet stores I went to when i was looking for a snake a year ago. no matter were i went i was told all that info. plus a lot of websites say it too so i think they're right. and its the femals that get 6 feet. males get 4 feet usually. and yes there has been studies on their lifespan (I looked into it) and the average age on a well fed and in perfect conditions python lives 60 years.

  • @TheTurkeyhunter13 yes females can get up to 6ft, and males get 4ft,but dude, dont trust dif, ive searched dif sites before, one time they said,, the yellow anaconda gets up to 4ft, i talkedto a person who has them, and their over 2m long

  • @SuperPensfan8771 I meant online at like real herpetologists websites where they do research on animals like snakes and lizards then give us the info. I'm not saying your wrong or I'm wrong but they major in this field so I think I'll trust them on what they say

  • @TheTurkeyhunter13 oh, you meant different sites, i thought you ment that DIF site thats always giving false information

  • @SuperPensfan8771 oh, no haha

  • @beardieboy13 3-4 feat long

  • a juvenile is anything over about a month therefore your saying a snake barley 1 foot long would need a 20 gal long my juvenile carpet (coastal) witch is about twice the size of a juvenile ball python is in a 20 gal long. Maybe you meant a sub adult female or adult male.

  • you can keep a ball python in a 20g tank till they are an adult.

  • What if you only plan on getting one? Would a 20 gal tank do?

  • @megaconda07 for males yes females possibly a 30

  • its a ball python

  • hey i got a snake today i put her under a shelter in her cage and she doesnt move whatd do i do is she stressed does she need time to get use to the enviroment please answer me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theGuywhocamps1000 ball pythons are nocturnal, and 70 percent of the time they spend in their hides not moving around. Sometimes when i stay up late at night i will see my snake moving around, but certainly not everyday

  • hey im a new snake owner. I just got a ball python yesterday. I took a video and was wondering if you could take a look at it and just give me any advice that you could. Thank you!

  • are frozen mice better than live mice? i just want to know whats better because both have their benefits.

  • @zodajc This could go either way. Frozen mice are probably a safer route but will make your snake lazy. If you want a more active snake then live mice are better. My friends have snakes and every one of them tell me this when I ask them about it.

  • @ryochild thanks i appreciate it

  • i want a ball python i like this

  • what would be a good cage for a ball pythons all its life?

  • cornsnakes are cool but ball pythons rock!

  • nice posting. I just got one, so thank you very much.

  • is handaling a ball python jst like a corn snake or kinda different cause im getting a ball python 4 my b-day nov13 and i need 2 know hot 2 are4 one plz reply awsome vid by the way

  • @hamstergamer1 ball pythons are very easy to take care of, just keep their temperature around 90 and feed them once a week and you'll be fine

  • eco earth ftw!!!

  • hey, i just got a ball python, and i'm not gonna lie i'm still pretty nervous about reaching dwn in his cage and grabbing him and getting him out. He's still pretty young, should i be nervous?how often should i handle him? please help! thanks

  • @NoApologies1000 I just got my ball python too! You have to leave them alone for about 5 days before you start handling them. You shouldn't be nervous, they rarely bite! Just handle him gently for a few minutes a day until he's used to being handled. I hope that helped! :)

  • i want ball python now because my corn snake just died :(

  • When I turn off the light during the night, the humidity in my ball python's cage goes up to about 70%. Is this okay? If not, do you what I can do to not make it go up so high?

  • can a ball python live in a 30 gallon extraa long tank their whole life??

  • Had a ball python, but it just wouldn't eat!

  • how many wats is your heat pad???

  • How much do they cost?

  • @NorthPoleMan91 30$

  • can a ball python stay in a 20 gallon long its whole life? if not, when is a good length to switch to a 40g?

  • @IamAnthony10 Yes they can usually stay in on there whole life. Although it is always better to go bigger.

  • Can your snake fit in the hide with the hole in the top? Also what heat lamp should i buy? One more thing what size is that hide with the hole in the top?

  • I just have a red plastic tub. Would that work. I might het a ball

  • I'm obsessed with ball pythons. I ADORE them <3

  • I want a ball, but I think I will start out with a hognose first.

  • What happens if the temp goes below 75?

  • noob questions:

-can 2 snakes live in a 36 gallon terrarium?

-can ball pythons live with king or cornsnakes in the same terrarium?

  • is there a way i don't have to feed them frozen mice and rats

  • @r2d2live just feed them live ones instead

  • soo you clean it once a week ???

  • If i were to get a ball python would exo terra plantation soil be ok.

  • @TheTurtleaddict Yes that is what the guy in this video is using.

  • a rat just bit a hole in my snakes mouth and its bad and what should i do i rally dont have the money for a vet plz tell me what to do

  • @jacobfare12 talk to a person who works at a reptile store or find a vets number online and ask them what you think you should do and the cost of treatment if even necessary. getting some professional info wont cost you anything and it shouldnt be too serious dont worry about it

  • @jacobfare12 Take him off food for a few months

  • do you need a uv light. all i have now is a 75 watt black heat light and i have had both of mine for year and the heat stays at 75 80 all the time

  • @jacobfare12 You can get a uv light but its not needed

  • ball pythons are so cute :·3

  • hey just saying its a boy i can tell by its patteren and size u can flip him and an inch before the tail ends fell for bumps and if there is bumps it is a boy

  • Can I just get a heat mat for the heat? I've owned a leo gecko before but this is my first snake ima get. Im on a budget too. Any suggestions?

  • Why buy a stick of wood .. ? i found mine outside put it in my pool " it had chlorine in the pool " soaked it / washed w/ water let it dry and my snake is all good w/ it " no mites " it took a day to prepare for my snake ..

  • curiosity. whith your live plants are you using a fals bottom? or are you using like rock as bottom layer then screen thn eco... im thinking about puting live plants in my new pythons tank but everyone says diff things. i have my own plan for mine but i was curious how you did yours. btw sorry if youv already answered this i dont feel like goin thru and reading all posts :)

  • btw GREAT setup!

  • dont u start baby ball pythons off with pinkies and still feed them once a week? and at what point should i change my ball python to bigger food?

  • @domiy27 You should feed it a mouse or rat that is as big as it's biggest part of it's body mines about 16 inches long pretty young and hes eating frozen thawed fuzzies the head looks to small for it but it goes down easy. But just upgrade to bigger food as it gets bigger.

  • @MontyThePython58 email a pic of its enviorment so i can see what u use for a young python

  • that is a really pretty snake! and thats a really cool tank. if i can persuade my mom into geting me a ball python i gotta know where you got all the stuff for your cage

  • i have a stick that i peeled all the bark of and whittled then sanded and washed is it safe to put in my snakes tank

  • nice setup

  • Where did you get your ball?

  • I just got one today! I am already in love with her/him. Name's Flicky

  • exactly how big do they grow

  • sterlite tubs are way better and more economical

  • @Hondacivicsi10 only two what happened?

  • I have one 40 walt or valt (idk lol) lightbulb on top of its cage, is that enough?

  • @rseagles14 what i use is a 70watt. i have 2 of them in a 30 gal tank. thats why i reccomend. mine is very happy :)

  • Im getting my first ball python in 2 days and I have a question about the temperatures. It gets really hot upstairs where my parent's and brothers's bedrooms are so my parents have the AC on. But when the AC is on it gets really really cold in my room to the point where Im shivering. Will a heat lamp keep the snake warm enough in below room temperatures or will I need more heat sources? Please reply ASAP

  • @XxDragonSlayerxX100 You can get an under tank heater and turn it on depending on your needs

  • I really want one but my cat just had 4 kittens. So I'm gonna wait until the kittens are all grown up.

  • is a heat light needed if u have other reptiles in the same room because my room is really warm because i have my other reptiles in it so if i bought a ball python should i use a heat lamp or just heat mats and i would have the snake out i the sun a lot to so would a heat lamp be needed

  • My ball python just got out of her cage! What do I do? She's only about 2 1/2 feet but I have a cat that just had 5 kittens and a few chihuahua's. I'm so scared! Last time she got out she managed to get all the way across my house, from my room to the kitchen! My friend found her on a sack of potatoes...

  • my ball python is almost 2 feet long can u tell me how old he might be???

  • guys i have a question. whats the difference between het albino ball python and normal?

  • Me and my fiancee are actually going to be getting a ball python within the month next week we are going to buy a teranium and make sure we know exactly how to regulate the temperature and humidity before we get the actual snake. Ive been doing all the research I can and this was very helpful! Thanks for uploading!

  • Don't you need a license to breed ball pythons?

  • @Wiseguydude No you dont need a license for breeding reptiles, but you do need a license to breed mammals.

  • @downthebeatenpath what would be better for my ball pythons bedding? newspaper or aspen?

  • iv had mine for 1 year and 1 month and im already feeding him small rats not pinckies.

  • i want a python sooo bad but my mom would make me live in my front door with it! lol im not lieng ._.

  • aww i want one now were did u get him

  • I just got one. you said you just started feeding him small rat. what were you feeding it before?

  • @zeus2117 Pinkies..you can get them from a pet store. you thaw them out, cuz they come frozen...then feed it to the snake:)

  • @Arviter80 thanks so much, i just got a 8 month old ball python also, and it didnt want to eat anything for about 10 days.

  • @zeus2117 np..and it was probably just getting used to its new habitat:)

  • I'm getting mine in two weeks. I'm so stoked

  • @slugbeats i am in exactly a month i cant wait!!! !:)

  • What do i feed it if she's 1ft 7inch long? She is eating fuzzies and she isn't thick. Help?

  • I am dying for a Ball Python. Im thinking like a 35 gallon tank for a starting tank.

  • Whats the temp on the hot side and whats the temp on the cool side.

  • is reptibark all right for them to live on ?

  • Got a ball python a female three year old a 20 gallon tank and a log and a water ball a heating pad all for 65 bucks

  • nice ball python and setup :)

  • your not spose to put more than one ball python in an enclosure unless its breeding season

  • @carsandjesse that's what he said he was gona do haha

  • I want a Ball Python sooooooo bad...

  • @dancingbananasROK their great pets!

  • @dancingbananasROK me too

my cosin has one they are so nice :)))))

  • do you have to put anything in the waterbowl or can it just tap water?

  • @Thematthewrox123 the best would be to use purified water or de-chlorinated tap water

  • or python regious, the scientific name! :D

  • You, good sir, take very good care of your snake.

  • eco earth all the way!!!

  • What substrate are you using, I'm getting my ball soon and I wanted to know what you're using since it looks good!

  • thats a male,u can tell by his tale, how it just gets short real quick and the other way is if it has spirs comeing out of its vent

  • you dont have to have a heat bulb i use 2 heat mat's and my royal/ball python is fine she's always had them since a baby and she is now 2and half 3 yrs old no problems with feeding she is a nice heathy snake

  • @newportboyo123 The bigger the cage and the more heating you will need. Also heat bulbs are better about giving off more heat than under the cage heaters.

  • just got mine yesterday refuses to eat prekilled got any tips to switch him over

  • @bw1819 make sure the thawed is a temperature of a average alive feeder. Also feed it with tongs or your hands making it look alive

  • @bw1819 feed him live mice, his natural instincts will probably kick in and he'll start feeding, then switch him back over to prekilled

  • how many times has it bite you in your three years, im thinkin of getting one

  • @tasdin11994 They rarely bite. If they are threatened they will roll up into a ball. Thats where their name comes from.

  • Im gonna get one....without my dad or mom knowing :)

  • @SUPERSLURPZ dude same here haha

  • I just bought my python today and Im so happy with it i bought it from a bredder i had a cornsnake and it was to like skittish and it always struck at me whenever i put my hand in the tank

  • I'm not a snake or reptile specialist. But from what I heard Ball Pythons should not be recommenced to first time snake owners, because they are vicious and don't like to be touched or plated with often. Corn snakes are always recommend as first time snakes, because they get along with other snakes, people and are not sensitive to touch like most snakes. I WANT A CORNSNAKE!!
