Because if he has no chance of winning, he should drop out, like every other candidate that couldn't win did. You don't see Mitt Romney continuing the race or Mike Huckabee, or Chris Dodd, or Bill Richardson, maybe because they intended their campaigns to be more than a publicity stunt. It's quite obvious now that both Gravel and Paul are not running as serious candidates, if they were, they would win at least 1 primary. These two are obviously just in it for the publicity. Ron Paul right now, even with all the TV shows he's been on and such, has a grand total of 21 delegates. Only a very small minority support people like Kucinich and Paul, and an even smaller minority supports Gravel. How do i know? Look at the polls, that's all you need to do.
At this point, Gravel has no chance of winning, it's an impossibility. The only reason he's in the race now is to try to get some publicity. Don't even get me started dude. I've been swapping political party's for well over a decade or so, and I know quite well about the subject. You'd be wrong to assume I just supported Ron Paul out of the blue.

In paticular? His statement about ending the draft. He didn't. His filibusters failed...twice. By the time he got around to a 3rd one, the 2 year draft extension was over.
Seeing as how he's running on the Democrat ticket, I wouldn't be surprised if he supports gun control either.

A) You're being extremely stupid about this. Speculate all you want about what would have happened had he not filibustered, released the Pentagon Papers, etc. It took a lot of courage and to suggest that his actions were inconsequential and his filibusters were a failure is absurd. Name one comparable thing that Ron Paul has done.
B) He's running Libertarian now. Gun control--he's pretty flexible about that. He was an Alaskan senator and he owns a handgun, BTW. He ain't like Kucinich.

The candidates decide when they drop out, it's not the medias decision to make. its important for Mike and Ron to be included because they inject issues that the 3 puppet candidates aren't allowed to discuss.

Because if he has no chance of winning, he should drop out, like every other candidate that couldn't win did. You don't see Mitt Romney continuing the race or Mike Huckabee, or Chris Dodd, or Bill Richardson, maybe because they intended their campaigns to be more than a publicity stunt. Once they realized that they couldn't win, they dropped out, like a candidate should.

How can you tell if someone is going to win before the race is over. Why do people do this to themselves? I don't understand...media brainwashing..Rove would be proud of his efforts. People focus on winning, placing the bet on the winning horse, I mean candidate. The results are not supposed to be in until the race is over just like any contest. Why should a contender throw the race when he's willing to fight to bring the National Initiative to the attention of the American people? Free, at last

It's quite obvious now that both Gravel and Paul are not running as serious candidates, if they were, they would win at least 1 primary. These two are obviously just in it for the publicity. They can air their views somewhere else, but they don't need to attend presidential debates and take time away from the candidates people really want to listen to to do it.

You are correct. The media predicted they did not have chance. Therefore, they were never serious. Now they are just attention whores, as they always were. There is perfect evidence of this in the case of Gravel from his release of the Pentagon Papers. The media marginalized him. Therefore, he was never serious. It was all a gimmick for attention and reveals him to be the loser that he is and will forever be. You have perfect insight that all these whining idiots will never have.

Yeah, the polls are conducted by companies who finance the "top-tier" candidates. The polls are "buzz" to create hype around the celebrity nature of the campaigns. (Think about it. Why did we need polls before the candidates spoke in the debates?) rjrfrj65 is a McCain supporter who is into groupthink in a big way. He wants endless warfare to feed the military-industrial complex, so it's no wonder he wants Gravel to be censored. Reason is the greatest threat to these people.

I don't claim to know about everyones hearts and minds, however I do claim to know that Ron Paul/Dennis Kucinich/Mike Gravel will never win a nomination and never stood a chance of winning. Ron Paul right now, even with all the TV shows he's been on and such, has a grand total of 21 delegates. Only a very small minority support people like Kucinich and Paul, and an even smaller minority supports Gravel. How do i know? Look at the polls, that's all you need to do.

At this point, Gravel has no chance of winning, it's an impossibility. The only reason he's in the race now is to try to get some publicity. Because of this, I don't think he's entitled to equal coverage in the debates, it would be an absolute waste of time to ask him questions, because no matter the answers, he can't win anyway, so what's the point?

This bipartisan system is completely corrupt. We need to empower ourselves and gain strength in numbers and agree to NOT vote for the mainstream candidates. McCain (Bush 3.0), Obama, Clinton will be more of the same that we've had for the last 30 years! We must start voting in third parties. It is the only answer. For those of us here who care, we need to put together a place that shows ALL the candidates and PLUG the hell out of it so people are informed. Who's with me?

while I can certainly understand your point and I can appreciate the sentiment that it is presented....
I think you're making an issue where there isn't one. Gravel and Paul are VIRTUALLY eliminated from the race already. There is truly no REASON for them to continue. John McCain WILL BE the Republican nominee. Obama or Clinton WILL BE the Democratic nominee. I'm sure if Paul/Gravel reenter the race as independents for November, they'll re-list them as choices...I'd have done the same.
