You should acquaint yourself with the history you're digging up. No problem with the metal detecting at all. You'll just enjoy it more if you know more about the places and events you're uncovering... and you're viewers will also learn more.
I got an Ace 250. If you're look'n in the right places they work good. This place you're searching is good because it wouldn't have a large amount of trash. I like to avoid the trashy spots too. I live in Massachusetts too lol. Happy Digg'n & GL
Hey guys, that 1854 button looks to be what they call a Goodyear button and is made from hard rubber. They were produced by the Goodyear Rubber Company that produces vehicle tires today. The buttons were used during the Civil War by the Union Army....Great find...
good luck guys, i was 2 month in and founf a few gold rings, lucky but dig everything and dont give up, such an amazing feeling when you see the gold come out the ground, real money :)
have you found out if that was a colonial button. i live close to the mass coast and there are good places where i live and have found many different kinds of old buttons. if you have any info on that button plz share it with me.

that non metal button that you were not sure what it was made of might be a button that is made of hard and compressed rubber. Great video.

The non metal button is likely a Goodyear button. Nice video.

You are right on about that one. It's an 1851 patent Goodyear's hard rubber button. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it :D
