@TheTampleSmoke I am Roman Catholic and a Secualr Franciscan. I received the pains from an image of the Divine Mercy. Revelations are private. I am 47, I go to confession every 3-4 weeks. I have mentioned my condition to my parish priest but what I go through is private, it's not visable anyways. I suffer them for those in purgatory and take Communion to those in hopspitals.

I follow the one true Church and the Magisterial teachings of the Church that have been handed down to the Apostles. I do not follow a heretical fractured Protestant faith where there is no order and no Sacraments. Jesus shares his wounds with whom He wishes unworthy though I am. And please don't throw Scripture at me since it is a Catholic book.
There is also a hidden stigmata where the pains are there and there are no visible wounds. I suffer those. I have had them for about 12 years and I use them to pray for those in Purgatory.

Only extremely holy Christian people in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches (the Church historically founded by Christ receive the stigmata). Jesus taught self sacrifice, love, service of neighbor. The Catholic Church has taught his from the beginning and continues to do this to the present day. Also the Catholic Church is responsible for the university system, many break throughs in medicine and science (scientific method, big bang theory, etc) Most of the great cities of Europe were originally intellectual hubs of education fostered by Catholic Monks. When a group tries to control people its usually through controlling information and keeping people uneducated (as seen in the Islamic world), the Church thoughout its history has done the exact opposite through promotion of education
You also said that desperate people flock to religion, history shows that many many brilliant people (not desperate in the least) have found a true hope in Jesus Christ in Christianity. I am involved in several Catholic Churches and Pro Life groups and i haven't yet met a desperate person. what i have met are loving, intelligent people looking to bring love and justice into the world. And throughout all these very different environments the Church teaches the same things, love of God and neighbor, justice, mercy, respect of life, service of others, etc. So by these facts i dont see the Church being under the control of a government

The Quran is constantly talking about slaying the unbeliever. Catholicism teaches the peace and love of Jesus Christ. The Church teaches that other religions have some truth in them but the Catholic Church teaches the fullness of the truth. Islam teaches peace and love towards muslim but this isnt the case when it comes to members of other religious groups. also when you misquoted Samuel 2 saying God had the wives raped? they weren't raped. David sinned against God and had Uriah killed so he can take his wife Bethsheba. he was being punished for this crime. you have to read things in context, not just quote a verse out of context in order to make it sound worse then it is. One shouldn't mis-quote the bible to make it sound harsh when the quran is full of violence, rape, war, theft and much more

@TheTampleSmoke I am Roman Catholic and a Secualr Franciscan. I received the pains from an image of the Divine Mercy. Revelations are private. I am 47, I go to confession every 3-4 weeks. I have mentioned my condition to my parish priest but what I go through is private, it's not visable anyways. I suffer them for those in purgatory and take Communion to those in hopspitals.

What's the problem with these beliefs? Ask the millions who died in the Crusades, and since, and even today, ugly hearted people act on such beliefs to the detriment of others. @dikajenny The actual quote is " You have never heard his voice nor seen his form" (wrong tense.) Here, Jesus is talking to the corrupt Pharisees. But he said to his apostles in John14:9 "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father". Even his name, "Immanuel", means "God among us".

Whether you believe in Christ or not, if the belief gives people hope and helps get them through the day, then what's the problem. I personally am a firm believer in GOD and Jesus. He has worked in my life and he continues to do so. Just because you have different views doesn't give anyone the right to insult someone for their beliefs

All of a sudden they are preaching about the dangers of alcoholism and pointing fingers at others they suspect as having a problem. It's all well and good in my opinion. there are many other marks of a cult and the Catholic Church doenst have any one of them. I admit there are bad Catholics just like there are bad protestants, jews, muslims, hindus, atheists, etc. but have bad people in a religion in no way prove or even hint that the organization as a whole is of a cultic nature. A good book i would recommend is "Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Steven Hassan. Mr. Hassan was involved in the Moonies and gives indepth information about cults and how they function

Only extremely holy Christian people in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches (the Church historically founded by Christ receive the stigmata). Jesus taught self sacrifice, love, service of neighbor. The Catholic Church has taught his from the beginning and continues to do this to the present day. A good book to read is "how the catholic church built western civilization" by Thomas Woods.

Also the Catholic Church is responsible for the university system, many break throughs in medicine and science (scientific method, big bang theory, etc) Most of the great cities of Europe were originally intellectual hubs of education fostered by Catholic Monks. When a group tries to control people its usually through controlling information and keeping people uneducated (as seen in the Islamic world), the Church thoughout its history has done the exact opposite through promotion of education

Catholicism transcends cultures, socioeconomic and political systems. you find the Church in extreme Capitalistic countries like the US, thought the theocracies of the Muslim world to extreme communist countries like China, North Korea and Vietnam. And throughout all these very different environments the Church teaches the same things, love of God and neighbor, justice, mercy, respect of life, service of others, etc. So by these facts i dont see the Church being under the control of a government

first of all you have to quote scripture in context not out of context. when Jesus said i didnt come to make peace on earth but bring the sword he was saying how there will be conflict because many wouldn't accept him and there would be disputes and even violence in response to his message and his followers. Also i check your site, im shocked to be hearing a Muslim complain about violent texts in the Bible. If i would try to quote the violent texts in the Quran i would run out of paper.

The old testament recounts many historical events which, yes included wars amongst other things but there Bible in now way sounds like it was written by a war lord. If you want a book written by a war lord pick up a copy of the koran.

The Quran is constantly talking about slaying the unbeliever. Catholicism teaches the peace and love of Jesus Christ. The Church teaches that other religions have some truth in them but the Catholic Church teaches the fullness of the truth. Islam teaches peace and love towards muslim but this isnt the case when it comes to members of other religious groups. read history, since the beginning of Islam in the 7th century where ever muslims went there was violence, the crusades were a response to muslim invasion only a couple of decades after its conception. if you go to bbc or any other website when ever you go to middle east section or read about a country which is 5% muslim or more, things are always exploding. also when you misquoted Samuel 2 saying God had the wives raped? they weren't raped. David sinned against God and had Uriah killed so he can take his wife Bethsheba. he was being punished for this crime. you have to read things in context, not just quote a verse out of context in order to make it sound worse then it is. One shouldn't mis-quote the bible to make it sound harsh when the quran is full of violence, rape, war, theft and much more
