Yes he is an elder god, but not really. He became an Elder God in MK4, but gave it up in MKDA. From the way he describes it, it's a "status", but more power probably comes with it. I don't see why the Elder Gods would allow him to step down and keep his power. But you also have to remember, he DOES have the power to bring people back from the dead. I think this video is the clearest example of why he doesn't appear as powerful as he should, because it can KILL him.

What sucks is that they show Quan Chi with that new move of making a wall with Skull Fireballs then don't make him a playable character. Instead they thought it was a good idea to bring back filler characters like Sindel.

That last part was so sad, when the electricity started dying out and Raiden's eyes stopped glowing. I remember when I first saw this, I actually thought Raiden was dead right then and there, until he turned up again later in the cinematic.
pure garbage they really messed up the storyline and added trash no wonder street fighter is way better than MK franchise these days. then again sf was always better. after uMK or trilogy MK4 and others got real cheesy. MK no thanks.
That was terrible. It seems that the Deadly Alliance made smart choices wiping out Liu Kang and Shao Khan because those two are the only ones who could have stopped this monstrosity.
Interesting point. I would've thought Raiden to be the best of them all. If you watch what happens in this fight you'll see that i'm right. One on one Raiden was beating either of them. But, as the writers have shown us, in tandem the two sorcerers are in fact unbeatable.

MK's mythos ripped Raiden's character from Japan's mythology. Raiden himself was in turn copied from China's original Thunder God Lei Gong.

pure garbage they really messed up the storyline and added trash no wonder street fighter is way better than MK franchise these days. then again sf was always better. after uMK or trilogy MK4 and others got real cheesy. MK no thanks.

That was terrible. It seems that the Deadly Alliance made smart choices wiping out Liu Kang and Shao Khan because those two are the only ones who could have stopped this monstrosity.

Interesting point. I would've thought Raiden to be the best of them all. If you watch what happens in this fight you'll see that i'm right. One on one Raiden was beating either of them. But, as the writers have shown us, in tandem the two sorcerers are in fact unbeatable.
