  • 405 million kg deadlift

  • Upper back rounding is not bad form, especially at this level when that exta leverage is needed. Lower back rounding is bad, and you can see that he avoids that very well.

  • dealift 430, oh thats not too much, then i see its in kg

    :O one strong mutherfucker

  • has anyone noticed his belt possition ? I don't think it's quite ... correct .

  • @Anonymus27BZ when you bend over to pick the bar u see the belt kinda makes a huge gap if its put on too low , but if its put at middle belly itll stay tight all the time

  • @Anonymus27BZ I deadlift using KK’s style (600lbs) and I can tell you that the stress is on the upper back when you use this style of dead lift. So the belt placement is “correct” for this style of dead lift.

  • My one rep max, with a double overhand grip is 135KG, and I seem to have stagnated almost completely. Huh?

  • @TheTomFitness do mixed grip

  • that doesnt look like 400 million kilos

  • molodec !!!!

  • Press 8 rapidly, there is some weird stuff going on background.

  • in my opinion one of the best deadlift videos on here

  • this guy is a walking stereotype lol

  • KK has pulled 939 lbs completely raw, not even a belt...Bolton is just a fat British bastard.

  • Skinny calfs don't matter in the dead, this guys squat is low compared to his dead, but still impressive!

  • that back rounding makes me shudder... i could never let myself dead lift like that

  • Konstantin Konstantinov is not from this planet

  • I love the way he walks up to the bar

  • wow 405 million Kg. lol

  • nigga big izcell

  • im 13 and i can not do that but i can do 610 raw

  • @13andincrediblycut 610 raw strokes to your boyfriends cock?

  • @4inches4u LOL!

  • why does he wears his belt so high?

  • @Joshbarnett28 he has developed a different style of pulling that compliments his build. You will notice that he also has a tiny bit of back rounding incorporated which is WILL happen at weight this high no matter who you are. People saying his back is rounding have and never will understand a max pull at way over 3.5x BW.

  • this guy is not for real man

  • this is way more impressive than andy bolton IMO.

  • dosent look like 405 million kg to me

  • @rideronthebonez shit comment

  • This is seriously the most impressive deadlift I have ever seen. 948 lbs in 275 class! Damn! Konstantinovs is living proof that you can be lean and strong at the same time. Does anyone know exactly when this meet took place?

P.S. That place has good taste in music. :D

  • HAMMER

  • Russian's want to be German!

  • @DEUTSCHLANDHEINZ Who the fuck would want to be German?????

  • он ноги не подключает вообще одной паясницей тянет грубейшая ашибка ..незачет

  • @CapriceNsk ошибка тут только ты... Подними хоть что-то, а потом умничай, ущерб ходячий..

  • Monster! Hell yeah

  • kurwa, plery do wymainy

  • Is it just me or was his form completely awful in the beginning of the video?

  • Apparently some big time lifters round their shoulders in order to lengthen their reach and consequently shorten the lift. Also apparently you have to be pretty strong and know what you're doing to get away with it.

I just read this a couple minutes ago on a site linking to this vid. Seems plausible.

  • @JacktheDaniels you think he got to 400 killo deadlifts by doing that form aswell or?

Most people tell me its rull number 1 to keep back straight but i just dont know anymore

  • @muzimuzi - lower back stays straight and strong, (notice his lower back from the belt down is very straight) , rounding shoulders forward from mid back and keeping chin to chest, known as round back deadlift brings lats and traps into play big time, takes some practice but pays off,

  • It's silly to discount Bolton's geared lifts. It obviously takes immense strength to do so, same with Benni. KK is awesome because it's just pure training and genetics. He's 270+ LBS and actually looks in shape, not just huge and round like Bolton. His lifts are done with some ridiculous determination, and they're done CLEANLY. You can see the lockout, he sets weights cleanly and doesn't drop, it's incredible. Boltons lifts look like shit. He gets it up there, but the lockout is weak and brief.

  • Konstantinov is definitely someone, who you would like to look as.Bolton may be tough, but he looks fat and slow.I bet Bolton could not do as many pullups,as Konstantinov can do.

  • Kons is an animal... no other word... He is hands down the strongest deadlifter in the world.

  • hmm... he is an animal but i think benni magnusson is a better deadlifter.

  • That would be a hell of showdown... I agree with that... Benni Is amazing as well!

  • But Kons is one of and or the best raw deadlifter in the world. no ifs ands or buts.....

  • Thats nore then 948? And he's got a suit on in this don't he.

  • His back muscles are so bad ass that it doesn't look like his back is proud when he lifts. Those are some massive back muscles.

  • @snozzcumbers Yeah, his back muscles look kinda like a defence shield behind him.Badass.

  • i love how much the bar bends when its off the ground

  • don't be mad because you can't even do 1/4 of this weight

  • @Fir3fly798 dude a quarter is l07.5kg. If you cant dl that then you should probably kill yourself

  • @ValleyOfChrome2112 I didn't say I couldn't I was referring to the people trolling on KK.

  • @Fir3fly798 1/4 of 430kg is only 236.5lbs. So you're wrong.

  • fucking spell right, good god

  • WOW! What a powerhouse!

  • He looks quite tall.

  • Comment removed

  • Beast! well done

  • luthmhor i think that doesnt matter who weight less when you are the man that can deadlift the MOST in the whole world you are simply the strongest deadlifter and thats it lets see andy dead 948 w the gear kons have here yes he can lets see kons deadlift 1008 with andys gear no,he cant but i think kons will have the record "soon" MAYBE for now can only be 1 number 1 and is ANDY BOLTON!!!

  • Bolton's raw deadlift is around the same as KK's. Put KK in some gear and see what he can do. KK is also a much better bencher than Bolton. Yes weight does matter to a certain extent, but I agree with you that, at this point, whoever lifts the bigger load is the stronger lifter.

  • @Ludichris8531

KK is the worlds best deadlifter enough said

  • Well I would agree to that, but a lot of people seem to argue that Bolton is the best because he's the only one to deadlift 1000+ pounds more than once even though he did it with a deadlift suit on and at a higher body weight. But you could also argue that Coan was better deadlifting 901@242 than either of those guys, but he's not currently at that level. I agree though KK is the best.

  • he didnt complete the lift last i saw

  • pause at 1:03 not complete?

  • @howcanthishappentome

    talking about bolton...

  • KK is a better deadlifter imo, stick to kettleball

  • @howcanthishappentome

what the fuck are you talking about?

  • @kettlebellconvert

    im talking about bolton, people

  • i agree bolton is the best deadlifter with gear on, but KK is a better raw deadlifter

  • @howcanthishappentome

I don't know, I haven't seen Bolton complete the lift.

Not to mention, in my opinion, raw is the only way to lift that truly counts.

  • complete agree

  • i agree..its hard to judge two people when they are geared. Gear helps people differently. Raw is what it is and is a standard method of comparing. Not everyone gets the same increase wearing the same suits so its hard to say who is stronger when geared. Raw is not contested though.

  • Strong, Stronger, Konstantinovs. Im impressed!

  • A bench press of 771 would have to be equipped, since the RAW WR is 715lbs. Kons does his lifts RAW. You can't compare the numbers.

  • UMNI4KA!

  • Remove all andys support gear, then lets see him lift 1008. Not to mention andy IS BUILT TO DEADLIFT, he has long arms and short stubby legs, this dude is super tall, and has long as fuck legs. Plus he set the raw world record deadlift, i think 40 pounds short of breaking andys geared record. How much does andy weigh?

  • Don't great deadlifters tend to have short torsos, long legs, and long arms? like Konstantinov.

  • It depends. Long legs no. Thats never a bonus. The longer your legs, the farther the bar will be from you when you are bending them, also the longer your legs the more you will have to bend your legs to grab the bar, and youll have a lower start. IE like a normal squat as compared to a quarter squat. You either want short legs, torso, and long arms. Or Ideally, long torso, short legs, short arms. A monkey is the perfect example of a deadlifting body.

  • A long torso means that your upper body will be more vertical when you go to lift, meaning less movement in the back. But this has to be in combination with short legs to be a benefit. Just picture it in your head and you'll see what i mean.

  • i would have thought a short torso & legs, & then long arms is the best combination. a shorter torso would mean better leverage

  • not realy.long legs can help with the deadlift.more bend at the knees and hips means also a more efficient stretch reflex=more force at the bottom position.not the same for the squat though :)

  • I'd love to see how much a monkey could pull.

I'm betting they'd break every deadlift record.

  • One chimp pulled a rope with a force of 572 kilograms - it was an old circus chimp, so probably not in good shape. A female in a zoo pulled on a dynamometer with the force of 384kg - not as impressive till you find out THAT WAS WITH ONE FUCKING HAND. The human record is 333.2 kg (734.5 lbs) by Hermann Goerner - a man who spent his whole life training, probably because he started with good genetics. The female chimp was just some chimp doing it cus she was annoyed at a male - no 'training' etc

  • @vitr1ol

    Congrats

  • Yes but bolton is also a good deal heavier then him.

  • HOw the hell do these guys pull with mostly lower back. I get lower and get speed off the ground first with my legs but must stand a bit wider to do this. I am alos shorter.

  • Wow.

  • i have never seen the bar goes like that

    WOW

  • Sorry, but you are incorrect. Herniation of a lumbar vertebral disc is usually caused by lifting with a rounded back, as the nucleus pulposus herniates out of the annulus fibrosis in a posterolateral fashion. Almost never does it herniate anteriorly, which is what arching the back would provoke.

  • More or less. Although one should differential between a rounded upper back (shoulders pulled forward) and a rounded lower back.

  • You are right. However, looking at the original comment, "very arched back," we can assume it means lower back. You don't commonly hear people use the word "arch" in reference to their upper back. In addition, it is highly uncommon for the nucleus pulposus to herniate in the upper thoracic region, regardless of the position of the discs in that region.

  • he probably confused arch and round. that makes sense since kons rounds his back.

  • kons was rounding his lower back too not that i carew i round my ower back on max attempts its not a max unless youre back is rounding.

  • He ruined the bar, look at it, it's all bent when he sets it down. I wish I could ruin bars.

  • dude i wish i could bend bars a bit, never mind ruin them!!

  • This is just insane.... he is lifting precisely 3.44x his own bodyweight....imagine if he was heavier, he could probably break some 1000lb records...

  • id say he will get 1000lbs in the next few years..even if he stays at the same weight

  • yeah no doubt, i just like the way he pulls the weight with such conviction, shows no mercy.. haha

  • inspiring..

  • He pulls like this because he claims this style suits his frame. It is intentional, the upper back rounding, and he has said many times in interviews that he plateaued at 750 lbs a few years ago and could not break it. When he switched his style he broke through that barrier and kept on going.

  • what's the name of the first song?

  • du hast (spelling?)

    by ramstein

  • Rammstein - Du Hast

    (Band - Name of song)

  • simply the best!

  • You guys are looking at his form all wrong he is letting his upper back round on purpose, it is called Bob Peoples style deadlifting, He keeps his lower back straight, but allows the much more well supported upperback round, really just a different style like sumo deadlifting.

  • Bob Peoples was a phenomenal deadlifter.

  • Lol @ Xplodz, no wonder his technique isn't perfect, he is lifting 400+ idiot. And after all, his technique still looks pretty good!

  • Pretty sick man

  • His upper back rounds not his lower back

  • Oh okay. I thught the entire back had to be straight in a deadlift though?

  • Nope. Just lower back has to be straight.

  • The spine is a single connected unit. Rounding in the upper back results in rounding of the lower back. Which, if you look at Konstantinovs low back, is rounded.

The back is rounded because he is lifting incredibly heavy masses, not because it is proper form. Form inevitably breaks down in PL competitions.

  • Mine always does, even though I try to maintain proper form in the deadlift. In the end it's a case of getting the bar up and to hell with form.

  • Er...maybe in competition, but training with proper technique allows you to both lift more weight and avoid injuries.

  • a lift is still elgal even if the lower back is rounded. you just cant hitch or ramp. it looks to me like his lower back is rounded but suppoosedly hes got a special technique where its not and im not judging.

  • it's a max effort lift so it isn't surprising that his lower back is a little rounded. ordinarily (if you watch his other videos), it's merely his upper back that's rounded, which is perfectly fine. you just have to keep the lumbar spine arched.

  • im not hating at all he is one of my favorite lifters.i round my lower back slightly too. check out my deadlift videos breo. its still a perfectly legal lift b/c im not hitched.

  • yeah I know man. Konstantinovs is friggin' awesome. I was just elaborating on the technique you mentioned in your comment. but if you pull regularly with your lower back rounded you're gonna need to fix that before you injure yourself... on max effort stuff it's fine to an extent, but not regularly.

  • yeah i used to have such an ego and id pull that way for all attempts. but now i use mark rippetoes videos as a guideline for my training sets. but i still max out this way. i only max once out of every 3 months though so its alright ;)

  • lol no. You should have relaxed shoulders and comfortably rounded upper back (which at lighter weight means it's almost straight.) When you work on your hip mobility the lower back straightness comes naturally.

  • Okay. My lower and upperback are straight when doing deadlifts. Anything wrong that could happen in the future from that?

  • no, not really. The rounding comes in with heavy weights.

  • insane

  • Which federation was this in?

  • Konstantinov, you WILL break the 1000lb barrier ! YOU WILL ! Awesome man !

  • The fact that he deadlifted 430kgs is incredible; the fact that he didn't need straps is just plain scary.

  • he could crush a persons skull with his bare hands lol

  • this is no diss at all on the man. imo, the deadlift is the king of the powerlifts, but i have a question, why are his legs so thin (or maybe they just appear so)? does he actually squat or does he try to keep his quad size limited for better leverage on the deadlift? his hams are pretty slender too. he's in bloody good shape though for a powerlifter.

  • He olympic squats every week and has squatted over 800 lbs in IPF competition

  • Круто

    Надеюсь потянешь 455+ )))))

  • WTF!!! Now that is some serious strength! What an animal!

  • great deadlift!

  • That isint raw is it??? he pulls like a tank!!!!!!!

  • Equipped with a deadlift suit, but it probably doesn't add much (IPF legal). Check out his other two competition vids, those are raw.

  • I have to watch this vid every once in a while. Totally inspiring! You Sir, are a beast!

  • his pulling is unique because he appears to get very little leg drive or attempt to get any recoil from his suit.. strong back for sure!

  • His form is just disgusting. Quite literally, everything you're normally told not to do, he does. Rounded back, head down, etc, but his body just "clicks" with it and he's (in my view) the best puller alive.

  • his lower back is straight...

  • I've heard it said that a rounded upper back is stronger in deadlifting.

  • Even so i'd like to see you lift that weight

  • You're missing my point. I'm saying that he seems to have such a fantastic grasp on how he should deadlift that doing everything "wrong" is "right" for him.

There's that whole "conventional wisdom" in the deadlift that doesn't work for him, so he does everything in a way most internet warriors would call wrong but he smashes world records.

  • Well anyone that actually knows anything about deadlifting/powerlifting wouldn't say that he has bad form. He actually has perfect form for a narrow deadlift.

  • His form is fine. He's just rounding his shoulders and upper back.

Which is not exactly dangerous. It gives a smaller range of motion for your upper back and thighs to lift.

  • Exactly, his LOWER BACK is not rounded at all, just his upper which is not improper form or dangerous.

  • At that weight I wouldn't care how my form looked, i'd be happy just to get it off the floor.

  • the way he gets it off the floor that fast is crazy.

  • great pulling. what else can be said.
