@saddrums only a few have wifi right now. (Coast Starlight, Downeastern, Cascades, and Acela (of course)). They're supposed to be adding more soon i hear but who really knows.
LOL , I have 3 questions! 1. What did u have for dinner? 2. What did u have for breakfast? 3.Where those cars - Amfleet cars? (where u passed through to the First Class ) ??
@TheBestPeki For dinner...by the looks of this I had BBQ beef or something like that. For breakfast french toast. The food was very good now that they cook it right on the train again. And yes, those were Amfleet I cars except for the dinnette which was a horizon fleet and the sleepers whichy were viewliners
i forgo what i ate. train food is fun. once i rode the 449 and 448 both ways between SPG and CHI. like you i ate in the dining car. they still look as nice from when i rode them.
you probably joined the train after it merged. first five cars on the list are train 448/449. they originate and terminate in BOS.
Fantastic video! I've ridden 49 twice this year, and both times I've attemped to walk through the train with my camera but mine isn't nearly as good as yours. Riding along the Hudson from NYC is the best part. Always a great experience. Much better than flying.
@JLJ061 Thanks! I never knew they did back in, I've only been to Union station twice, once this year and once last year, neither times they backed in.
@MainlineProductions1 I've ridden into Chicago several times since 1994, and most trains backed in then. In fact I have a vid here showing my train backing in. :o)
@ikolkyo967 They used to back in when I started riding 15 years ago, in order to keep the locomotive noise and exhaust away from the terminal, but I guess they don't anymore since the move can take up to 30 minutes to complete.
@JLJ061 the lakeshore limited doesnt usually back into chicago partly being its the only train that uses single level coaches in chicago with sleepers. so they basically clean the cars restock the train and load it up for the nights return train to NY. the Capitol Limited if its late will back in cuz 90% of the time that train set is just gunna go out on one of the long haul trains out of chicago.
@jdgator95 I't wasn't too cramped. It was a great trip and I'd really recommend traveling with Amtrak next time you travel, If you're not in too much of a hurry ;)
Oh, a toilet right next to the lower bunk... that's pleasant.

@saddrums No it doesn't. The only trains that have WiFi are the Acela and the Empire Service trains.

TheBestPeki 1 year ago
@TheBestPeki if you book a sleeper meals are included, if not you have to pay and I think they take cash or credit cards.
