4th GEN MAXIMA BURNOUT

I bought mine this way last Feb. '95 GXE 5 spd.  Stillen lip & sides. White guages, Stillen shifter. Engine has ypipe, hi flow cat. w/ new stock exhaust. Through fender cold air intake. '00-'03 series variable induction intake tied in with a piggyback Apex i fuel computer. Fidanza flywheel w/Nissan '00-'03 series clutch. Setup has about 15,000 miles on it.

hey man have you ever heard of one of mazdas jdm engines? its a KLZE and I've always wondered how well it would do with a VQ30 Maxima. I have a 1995 Mazda 626 w/KLZE swap 5speed, and it hauls some ass, compared to the American engine.

Yeah but it's elements are from the 5.5 gen, not the 5th gen, which causes even more confusion.

It's a 4th gen with a 3.5 swap.

@realestniggaout it depends on a couple factors. would you be able to do it yourself? and do you want to do the FULL swap? meaning engine, 6 speed tranny, and the vq35 ECU? the wiring is a bitch to do, which is why many people dont do the full swap, they just swap the 3.5 into it and use the old vq30 5 speed and ECU. expect 2,000+ dollars to be spent. if you have the knowledge and tools to do it yourself it will be far cheaper.

4.5gen is the informal name for a maxima with a VQ35 swapped into it.

I have never heared anyone call a 4th gen a 4.5 because of an engine swap, that makes no sense, the only reason people may call the 97-99 a 4.5 is because of the styling changes made by the OE.

An aftermarket engine swap doesn't change the model of your car.

It's just a 4th gen with a 3.5 swap. You make yourself sound ignorant when you call it a 4.5, informal or not.

Youtube has several videos of "4.5 gen" maximas.

4th Gens are hardly plain jane.. the GXE, yes. But they were built to be more affordable compared to the SE and GLE. And the VQ30 is a really good motor. Those 4th Gens are still more powerful and responsive than a handful of some new vehicles.

I never said the VQ30 was a bad motor. There's a reason that it was on Ward's Top Ten list for every year it was produced. Except for power, it's better in every way than the VQ35. My VQ35 smokes during WOT and it only has 32k miles on it.

All gen 4 maxima's come 4 disk... And u can do that burn out if u just slick up there area ur in. Put ur rears on something sticky and pull the ebrake and do a tiny N drop... Only a small one though... Like less then a Grand that way it the tire can skip out and u just gun it. It should work fine... Don't do it all the time because it is bad for the autos.

No thats just ebrake. And yeah they're cefiro's, there is quite a bit of modification you need to do to make them fit though, keep that in mind.
