  • from france with love, good movie

  • To Hankerone1,the title means,I have two loves. To thecritiquevirtuoso,I think your existence is highly overrated.Paris is,& always will be,the most beautiful city in the world.Your ignorance is profound.I'm guessing you're sitting there watching Jerry Springer, smoking, eating microwave burritos, with your ball cap on backwards. This Frenchman is telling you to keep your idiocy to yourself.

  • @fogeification

Yes--because France is the center of everyone's "travel-brosure universe." You call me ignorant because I find Indonesia's Prambanan temple or Copenhagen's Nyhavn more interesting than some ugly 100+ year old tower in the middle of Paris? Well this American is telling you to fuck off.

  • does this remind anyone else of God bless the child? either way, both songs are beautiful

  • Thank you for producing the most beautiful music I have heard in years. It truly is amazing and truly a gift to have in my life. You make everyday easier.

  • can anyone tell what does the title of the song means ?

  • A million times like! Absolutely amazing!

  • lovely! is just all 2 me!

  • I think France (especially Paris) is extremely overrated. The song is nice though.

  • sweet jesus this song is amazing. <3

  • Fell in love with Madeleine Peyroux in, yes, 1997. I am so glad to discover others love her, too. For so long, I was always met with, "Who", when I mentioned her.

  • I just discovered her in a store. I was testing some high quality speakers for my living room. I randomly chose a CD and I stayed in the test room for one hour and listenned to the whole album. She has an amazing voice

  • what is this type of music called? French Jazz?

  • Chanson de "from Paris with love" trop bon ce film!

  • @flofloriano31

I think you're pretending to be a french person. The french quotation marks would be « from Paris with love » not "from Paris with Love".

  • @thecritiquevirtuoso I think that you get really bored that is why you think that someone would pretend to a French one, and I can tell that flofloriano is French just by his writting because I am French as well. And I think you are a little arrogant to say that paris is overrated, take time to discover a city and its people before judging.

  • @yochana94

I'm not arrogant, I just think that there are better places to be in than "everyone's favourite" Paris, France. I'd rather be in Indonesia or India than in Paris.

  • French women sing so beautifully

  • @JYC422 Believe it or not, she's American, though she has spent plenty of time in France. I wish she would add more French to her repertoire.

  • From Paris With Love....this is gangsta music man...

  • Thank you for posting this! Really great pictures from Paris. I love this studio version of the song. I saw Madeleine in Montreal at the Jazz Festival. Unfortunately, she sang a very jazzy version of this song at the end of her concert, and I did not enjoy it. This is my favorite version still.

  • merci tout le monde; thank you everyone

  • Adorable.

  • Oh my, I'm in love ;)

  • this sounds so chill........:)

  • oh this is the first french song i learned...

  • If you like this, you should really listen to this artist - just heard her today... really like it!! Her Name is Mille Lykke - check out her channel

  • @jenny40970 Hey Jenny. Glad you liked this. I caught her in concert - one of the best I've ever seen - at Bass Hall in Fort Worth. But now you've got me hooked on Mille Lykke. What a performer; what a nice voice. Unique style. Thanks.

  • Paris .. je taime!! Can you imagine a world without Paris?!

  • This song is wonderful! It reminds me of my trip to france a couple years ago.

    Madeleine is very talented.

  • i dont know french.. but i like alot of music.. i like this.

  • So much class in only a couple of minutes.. Good song, for sure.

  • lovely calming song to listen to in the morning watching the sunrise over a cappuccino and a cigarette.

Originally heard this in the intro to the movie "From Paris With Love"

  • Had the EXACT same mental picture my friend

  • @phantomloita i get the cappuccino part but why ciggarette its very unhealthy for you :[

  • @phantomloita sunrise, cappuccino and cigarette! the best combination

  • @phantomloita Oui!

    "From Paris With Love". ^_^*

  • @phantomloita Me too. What a beautiful sequence of Paris in the beginning.

  • Madeleine Peyroux has such a charming voice. I wish she would sing more songs in French.

  • The French comes easily to Canadian Peyroux and she gets right inside this song. Bluesy interpretation with a lovely, slightly lazy, gentle swing. Nice job.

  • i watched her on Austin City Limits on PBS and i kept missing her name, they are real bad about that, and finally i cought it but it only stayed on for like 2 seconds, i'm glad i was able to spell her name properly =)

  • this song was originally sang by the late Josephine Baker who made her carrier in France in the mid 1920s...she was black which explained why she expatriated to France.

  • Lovely I feel like a true Parisian listening this

  • First of all, I m not French, secondly, I don 't really care where your dollars will be spent. Try a coca-cola and a "big mac", you will love it, i m sure.

What I said, is that the video has nothing to do with this song. Just photos of a tourist, and stupid ones. The guy who made even put a photo of two cops! unbelievable...

  • Comment removed

  • Agreed.

  • an education

  • Thx for all the fabulous pix of Paris. I'd love to see it in person!

  • This video looks like a clone of mine from when I went to Paris this summer. lol. So nostalgic. Great song.

  • Je l'imagine chanter "I love Paris" ... cela aurait été merveilleux...

  • Great song, great images. Dont you wish Maeleine had recorded more in French? This is the only track I have ever come across.

  • Man, I want to go to Paris so BAD, especially after watching this video (and listening to the beautiful song playing behind it)! I didn't get to go with my French class when I was in high school because my parents wouldn't let me, but hopefully one of those days I'll get to go.

  • i love all things french, and shes got edith piafs wistfulness, and, yeah a touch of billie holliday! jus gorgeous!

  • Awesome. I just discovered her today while listening to XM Radio. Her style reminds me of 8 1/2 Souvenirs (waves to another Austinite). But of course... the French-inspired songbird!

  • And a wave back to you. Don't cha love those Austin nights with KGSR-FM, Sixth Street, Hook 'Em Horns, the Colorado River, Blues on the Green, Barton Springs, Antone's, Hula Hut, Dazed and Confused, and all the other things that takes you back to the Hill Country? Ur right on with 8 1/2 Souvs.

Glad you like Maddie. She was at SXSW this year. And if you're not doing anything on Tuesday nights, check out the great new guitarist/singer at the Driskill Hotel. Even Jimmie Vaughan goes to hear him.

  • I love that song, it takes me back to Paris soooo badly... to a French Bakery and the metro stations... the charming Parisians (yes, charming!) and the Oranginas in Summer

  • XOXISSIMO

I'm returning to Paris in September. Do you have a favorite restaurant or place you can recommend. The highlight of this trip will be going to a Diana Krall concert at the Olympia Theater Music Hall.

Pizzeria Pitzman (next to the synagogue in Paris) the bagels and the pizzas are to die for.

  • @XOXISSIMO you the first person who said that Parisians are charming thank you :)

  • Where did you download this song? It feels like im like in Paris, Its a lovely song

  • This is wonderful. I appreciate the Billie Holiday comparisons. Not many out there who can duplicate that voice, and this girl does it very well......not to mention she adds her own style to it.

  • OMG!!!! That's soooo awesoeeme! x)

  • you know i just discovered her recently, but she has made many of my saturday mornings quite enjoyable

  • isn't this madeline peyroux

  • Yes it is Madeline Peyroux. Isn't it nice?

  • @o2bnaustin Sure it is

  • thank you dear parisa

    hou

  • Nicey, music like a spring day, in the morning, with an excellent cup of coffee, in the half shade, and the temperature is just perfect.

  • it wasnt her who did that song

  • Who did it?

  • interesting!

  • wonderful

  • "I have two loves"? Interesting.

  • I love that song but i dont think she made it

  • what an amazing voice

  • Great Pics! Great song pick as well! Thanks for sharing!

  • WOWOWOWOWOWWOW. this is super what a sexy mood song

  • Tom:

Merci pour le commentaire. It seems we have similar tastes in music and in our desire to write and speak French fluently. You are correct in your interpretation of the lyrics. If you have the opportunity to see Madeleine in concert, don't miss it. She and her excellent band put on a great show.

  • Pas mal!! Cependant, C'est MON pays.......... ALORS, elle parle.........qui essaie d'ecriver.

    Bon travail!

  • I love this woman. I hope some day she could make it to Washington DC!!

  • best thing I have heard all day

Beatiful Madeleine

  • This was originally sung by Josephine Baker, that glorious black singer/entertainer from the roaring twenties in Paris. She came from Tahiti, so she sang : I have two loves: my country (Tahiti) and Paris.

  • Vraiment? A St-Louis????

    merci beaucoup 'o2bnaustin'

    :)

  • Her voice is soooo beautiful

  • kt810: Thanks for adding it to your favorites. The lyrics are about having two loves: my country and Paris -- J'ai deux amours, Mon pays et Paris (I have two loves, my country and Paris).

  • I have no idea what she is singing about exactly but it sounds so beautiful it is a favorite

  • I saw Madeleine Peyroux at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas recently. What a show! What a singer! What a band!

  • what a hot voice

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • ana1977, thank you for correcting my mistake that stated Josephine Baker wrote the song. You are correct; I was wrong. Thank you for watching it and for your message.

  • Merci. J'aime le Paris.
