  • yeahaaaa like me but i've broken my elbow LOL

  • the guy who highsided tried to do a wheelie in the begining, he couldnt do it or he got scared, and at the corner he got scared again.

  • haha the ol'backdoor tickle

  • so why did it slide out???

  • is this the go-cart track where you almost died?

  • Yes, same one I talked about recently.

  • did you catch it on tape?

  • u almost died? where?

  • Ouch!

Well explained, dude, that's how it's done.

  • can you make a super moto vid with u riding cause that wuold be cool

  • Don't sell yourself short man. Take them all on.

  • Cool video !

  • Heh I think if this guy kept the throttle open he would still be going round in circles :)

If the bike has enough power and so little traction that the rear will ultimately just keep sliding out if you keep on the gas, like happened here, then obviously you have to close it.

The big highsides happen when you don't close it soon enough, and the rear is a long way out of line.

  • well ya he did actually explain it pretty well

once the rear end is outta line even moderatly if you let off the gas the odds of you going over are pretty dam high

    physics sometimes sucks doesnt it?

that being said powerslides on a motorcycle are fun as hell to watch

  • I disagree, racers have these "out of the seat" moments quite frequently, and if they're quick enough not even that.

They only leave the throttle wide open if they're confident the rear won't go around any further.

When the rear slides unexpectedly, particularly but not only at lower speeds, then 99% of the time you have to close the throttle, at least partially, (doesn't apply to dirt). Leave it wide open, it keeps spinning, goes all the way round and you fall off on the low side.

  • Actually, you have to keep the throttle going if its a highside so you can skid to safety. If you just let go, you will get sling shot out of the bike. I'm not sure, but i think that's how it goes.

  • Only if they're sure the rear won't go all the way round. Or else it's a guaranteed crash.

Out of a 1st gear corner, if they spin the rear tyre unexpectedly, you think you just keep the throttle wide open and hope for the best? Of course not, you react instantly and stop the rear spinning before it goes too far. If you're quick enough it's just a wiggle, if not quite quick enough you might be out of the seat for a moment, if nowhere near quick enough you'll get thrown back over the top.

  • actually i've had a similar thing happen to me, my rear end slides out, i just keep the throttle where it is and keep calm

  • u shud be a bike instructor....u explain it so idiots like me can understand it

  • Ouch, poor dude, i wish we had something similar here in Australia, but track days are far and few and verry expensive, you need a week advance booking and $220 per day =(

  • wow thats a lot

  • Gotta love the way supermoto's sound!

  • i love supermoto lol

  • I don't know about everyone else, but I personally HATE motocross and other bikes that aren't supersport bikes. Not only for the looks, but also for the noise they make. Supersport bikes = Formula 1 noise, other bikes = lousy and crappy noise. Besides, motocross helmet sucks!! XD

  • listen to the HAND !!!

  • i did that on my cg 125 :( it wasnt fun and scared me off roundabouts for a good few months. glad the guy was ok!!!

  • what caused that? too much throttle on the exit of a turn and no track to grip?

  • usually high sides results in the rider getting thrown a good distance. it happens when the tire looses traction enuf to make the bike tilt on its side then suddenly the tire have traction again uprights itself real quick and bucks you off

  • I know what high sides are >.> I was asking HOW this happened.

  • then listen to M13, he explains it very well

  • he gave it gas while going around the turn which made the back wheel fling out causeing him to go of the side =)..or he slide and the tyer gained grip =) something on that lines

  • oh my bad. rider error, oil on the track. I dunno. I can hardly hear what m13 is saying in this vid

  • It was cool seeing the guy on the sports bike hanging from the seat and sticking the knee out while on the curve.

  • Should had got on anyway :D

You should do some more videos with you on a track. Imo anyway.

  • SICK!!!!!

  • I just noticed that the guy who crashed was the second guy to get on the track, who attempted to do the wheelie. He was probably trying to show off for the Camera.

  • i hope get showed off enough....he hurts lol thats why he aint riding lol

  • good explanation of the high side. it makes sense

  • abit small but seems like an awsum idea for the 250cc and smaller engines :D

i hope lawn mowers are up next ;)

  • does any1 know what year m13's bike is

  • the ninja?

    2006 i believe

  • ok thanks man

  • and 650cc

  • Good thing it was at low speeds and on a track

  • More of a drop that a highside... But your analysis of the crash is stop on ;)

  • guy at 1:27 did it right.. from what I've read you break traction in the rear tire with the rear break just enough for it to kind of hang out as you enter the turn.. as you lean into the turn you do a normal corner.

I think the guy that highsided was trying to drift through the corner.. not something you want to try doing if you are inexperienced for the reasons you described. but those who CAN do it are .. awesome :-)

  • that wasn't so much of a highside as the rear of his bike slid clear around to the front.

  • sometimes even with the gas all the way the tire will grip :S

  • hmm a crotch rocket? dont u ride one of those

  • ouch!!! you're voice sounds so differant, amazing how living somewhere else can change your voice so much over the years, great vid btw :)

  • He's was still going through puberty back then lol

  • hahaha that one yell at 0:59 sounds like a mortal kombat sound

  • I want Mordeth to teach me how to ride a bike!

    How much mordeth?!

    lol

  • great

  • i just wanted to leave a comment to help ur stats. 5/5.

  • i love the cries of concern at 0:59

  • Mordeth sounds different in this too. Being 3 or 4 years ago, he hadn't been speaking Taiwanese as long so his voice doesn't have that higher pitched sound it does now. :)

  • ....it's just a different mic.

  • the gas is you'r frend when sliding!

  • Looks like the blue power ranger

  • lmao, I was thinking the same thing!

  • Supermotos are cool

  • mordeth if one of those bikes were to slip, you're standing right in their path

  • I wish I had a track like that where I live. I'd probably have to travel out of Arkansas to find a decent track.

  • I got to build a track like this.

Ideas of how much it would cost me?

  • 50,000 dollars?

  • did he die... are you serious, iv fell of a bike worse than that

  • it's supposed to be a joke lol

  • No he didn't die but his vagina was seriously damaged in the crash and required surgery later that night.

  • lol i like that

  • Slow tracks ftw for crashing.

  • supermoto ftw!

  • i love supermoto :)

  • Tardin' ftw.

  • Put M13 to shame? I'll edit that part out later. :)

  • Tum de tum te tum... ohh a corner coming up, better turn soon... turning...turning... wtf..!!! no...no...Ahhhhhhhh [thud thud thud thud],

dang... I hurt my leg... and I use that for walking on!

  • I totally forgot about this one. I was there that day. You can see me near the blue R6 just before it pulls out onto the track. The guy on the R6 and the one on the yellow Suzuki are from Yamaha. The guy that highsided just bought that moto and was riding it for the first time on the track.

  • Probably just trying to show off for the camera

  • Thanks M me and my buddy were having an argument about this one couple of days ago... i've just lost :-(. so that guy got off with no broken bones?

  • He was fine. Kept riding a bit later.

  • Well, from personal experience, I often get up and keep going and dust off my ego, but the next day I'm taking pain killers and seriously feeling it, lol!!!! xD

    High-sides are NO fun!

  • oh yea bebe touch it.

  • this reminds me so much of "Icespeedway". It's a cool sport to watch =)

  • good advise thanks

  • Well it's easier said than done. If I went into a slide like that I'd probably panic and go down as well........that's what she said.

  • Lolwhut!

  • i had it happen to me last week and i panic and hit the breaks the bike stood up straight and i went over. terrible thing i was uninjured and the bike was ok. not much damage but it scared me a bit

  • motards are fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • motards are best.

you can also get highsided by false steering

  • Cool =]

    And 4th

  • Cool vid mordeth. you shoulda gone out there ;) only way to get better is with more track time....

anyway, cool little video with a crash in it. stay safe and healthy mordeth!
