  • Great song, with one of the most tasteful solos ever

  • this definatly was not the heviest stuff at the time Black sabbath was.

  • @Theblackmetalist Sabbath was way before Kiss. They both rocked. Heavier? STFU asshole.

  • @Rampant7990 Sorry about that fucked up my sentence lol, what i meant to say is at the time Sabbath was still heavier ,Kiss is fuckin great band but all those loves they did really turned me off from them.

  • who's the faggot that dont like??

  • @fockencio Probably the dickhole above you, claiming Sabbath was heavier "at the time".

  • I hear ya, KODIbassplayer . This & Shock Me are my 2 fav Ace solos!

  • I'd like to have heard the "original" Sepultura do a cover of this tune!

  • Admittedly Ace's solo is awesome. My favorite song off Hotter than Hell. But please. I was part of the Kiss Army when until I was 12 or so. Their music is extremely simple, dated and really not that good! Granted, a great show! But come on man! Montrose had their first album in '73 too and blows the doors off anything KISS ever came out with!

  • @DickLodge68 well kiss is an entertainment group. they still hve some great material

  • The music is simple I agree, but dated? Not at all. KISS songs still go strong to this day. I like Montrose too, but they can't touch KISS.

  • @timm441 Hi Timm...yes, extremely dated. "Rock and Roll All Nite" sure...probably their most recognized rock song. "Beth"? A love ballad long dead and gone. "Detroit Rock City"?dead too. Even later songs like "Lick it Up" is dead. Therefore "dated". Most Zep and Beatle songs simply live on. And really, would you rather hear "Rock Candy" by Montrose or what..."Love Gun"? C'mon man! I've been playing guitar 30 years now. Go ahead like KISS but other than a live show, I'd never listen on headphones

  • Ok so we can agree to disagree, which is cool. I personally am a huge KISS fan so also a bit biased. I admit their live shows are them at their best. I do appreciate though, the fact that we can disagree and debate in a civil manner. I have gotten many replies when stating my opinion, that are simply insults from the start. And honestly all this comes down to one's personal opinions and preferences. I love rock music and talking about it and it's all good to see others have passion for it.

  • @timm441 You suck ass! WTF is your problem? I'm kidding. I think it's great the KISS ARMY stills lives strong. I just moved on....but still stuck in a time-warp a bit. I hate most current music. It's great to discuss our likes/dislikes here. People take it way too personally! Watch my video...and my faves...people actually "hate" me because of my opinion? Ridiculous! I like the fact there are still KISS fans.

  • gets my fucken dick hard to this day.

  • This Ace solo is crazy good! Ace>Thayer.

  • @jarjon76 yeah the ACE solo is awesome period.period man! ill give thayer one thing ,,the talent as a guitar player.period man you see.so the thing is ACEstands alone. so the name thayer doesnt deserve to be near ACE...thayer is not ACE.as a kiss fan its a disrespect to KISS fans and to ACE and PETER to have fake people behind ICONSmake up.sorry if you dont agree

  • Thank u Dave Mustaine for mentioning this song in an interview. Cool stuff.

  • @cameltooth1 where did he mention the song

  • this was when rock was rock

  • This was the HEAVIEST shit at the time.

  • @COBWEBOWNZYA Correction Black Sabbath was lol.

  • Sorry but that's Peter Criss siging :D

  • @brenomaidens it is Peter singing, but Ace wrote the song.

  • aint no band in the world can touch the original kiss man / these guys were REAL / they were from the streets and they were the real fuckin deal man / pure raw rock and roll baby !!

  • got it on the original 74 vinyl hotter than hell on casablanca !!

  • ace wrote it. peter sings it.

  • sorry but I think ace worte it and petter and gene are sing it ya I haven't listin to kiss sine the solo l.p s. ace had the best one

  • sorry but I think ace worte it and petter and gene are sing it

  • I can't remember what L.P this was on but I belive it was hotter than hell oh by the way Ace sings it

  • I can't remember what L.P this was on but I belive it was hotter than hell

  • who sings this song? ace or peter?

  • @acefrehley10Solos peter sings it but u can also hear gene as well

  • @shaunsstuff79

    thank brother

  • and all Gene can do is put shit on this man Ace, Pull ya fat fkn head in Gene and listen to Hotter Than Hell again, it's obviously been a long fkn time since you did.

  • this is probably kiss's heaviest song, thanks to ace, peter sounds great on this, and its from hotter than hell, a very unerrated gem

  • GREAT SONG.....thanks Ace

  • my fav kiss song ever

  • really wish I could find an old video recording of this song... Anybody have any ideas?

  • where is the pic at liek 3 min from?

  • Ace,you rocks :D

  • Awesome song by Ace. Peter has such a good voice. Peter really added a lot to Kiss...

  • This is a really old one by KISS, but Peter Criss's vocals are really great. I love the raspy quality. Eric Singer is good, and I like him, but he'll never be Peter.

  • love how HEAVY in the honest way this song sounds

  • this is peter criss singing I recognize his voice

  • Is this ace singing

  • @123ozzied1 Peter Criss is singing but Ace wrote it.

  • @capnpfff oh okay

  • It's a shame that Starnge Ways never made it;s way into the set list of KISS live shows. Could you imagine seeing the original line-up kick this out live. Or, the thundering double bass drums of Eric Carr blowing this through the roof tops of concert halls.

  • @regtoyz Yeah, this song would have definitely fit in with some of the band's heavy songs

  • One of the best Kiss songs ever!

  • Comment removed

  • @bjdot666 Very cool. My daughters also grew-up listening to KISS as well. Probably a few times as I changed their diapers as well. KISSNATION FOREVER !!!!

  • @regtoyz KISS ARMYYYYYYY KISS WILL SET US FREE

  • Ace wrote some of the best songs.

  • Great!

  • the best Frehley solo ever!!!

  • paul stanley rules he is my favriot i forgot they all rock

  • One of my favorite Kiss songs ever. Ace has the coolest guitar sound as well as great songs he pens.

  • KISS should be playing this fucking song NOW!!!!!!!!

  • Ace Frehley one of the greatest guitarists ever...he just had charisma!!!!! Peter Criss sings his best Kiss song also on this. Awesome song...........

  • @fletch00001 ace will always be the sound of kiss, his rifts are legendary, his solo's are memorized by millions of fans forever

  • peter's vocal is badass!

  • this song rocks!

  • Aces guitar drives me crazy!!!!

  • ace frehleys playing made a lot of kids take up the guitar, and had a big influence on others,a unique style & sound.

  • to bad we cant stay in this frame of mind when it comes to music.

  • This is THE best KISS song EVER!

  • i smoke weed to this,kickass

  • This has long been one of my absolute favorite Kiss tunes. I generally love anything Ace writes. His playing is positively blistering on this track, I only wish there was a live clip of it.

  • Listen to Ace's solo. Remember, this was released in 74. Ace was a great guitarist back in that day.

  • this lead kicks ass

  • I love the murky sound of Hotter Than Hell.Great vocals by Peter on this song, and some of Ace's best playing.

  • awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kiss sucks without Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.

  • @dropdead309 amen

  • Nothing like some Klassic Kiss! Fucking unbeatable!!!

  • one of the most bad

    ass songs of this decade...

  • @sapiopneumoni It's not of this decade.

  • @Zon3y sorry my english i mean 70's decade

  • I love hotter than Hell in the top two favorite albums of mine.

Is the sound quality any better on any of the new releases or on the Japanese imports ?

  • Ace's solo sounded evil... Damn

  • One of Aces best solos!

  • one of their best songs ever

  • There is something mystical about Ace's solo in this song. Tell me you don't want to listen to it over and over. Vinny , Bruce, etc. good guitarist, but only one true Kiss grate. Ace!!!

  • While I agree Ace is the best, and just had that special something. I feel that Bruce is a great guitar player. Vinnie on the other hand is really fast but plays with no emotion. He is like a robot.

  • Glynnracing79 I was referring 2 the solos from the band as in Paul Peter gene and ace. He had the best solo album. And I beg 2 differ on the other guitarist.

  • ACE = GOD

    TOMMY = DOGSHIT

  • Space Ace definitely is the man. He has the best solo out of Kiss in the 70's and spruce, tommy nor Connie can match that 2day. Go Ace

  • @gregerv37 umm i hi ope so,since he was the only guitar player in kiss during the 70's.and bruce and vinnie and mark are 100 time sbetter guitar players then ace.

  • Man what a solo,, Ace is the man, best guitarest for Kiss plain and simple, And Peter awsome singer and drummer

  • Excellent! I'm not the only one who really sets this KISS song apart from most of the others :-) One of the best, easily.

  • Ace wrote this song about Gene and Paul´s kind of treatment. A strange way of look and tell things. A hostile way.

  • One of my favorite KISS songs also.

Ace is the man and so is Peter!

  • this is vintage ace, without him kiss was nothing...

  • great song. I play this on guitar, but I can't play the lead.

  • ace est vraiment cool!!!

  • I'm 40 and listening to this song again reminds me of how great KISS was. There will never be another band like them again. They were awesome!

  • Peter was always so awesome when he sang lead!

  • gr8 kiss songever

and one of the best solos !!

  • Ace Frehley is my favorite rock lead guitarist of all time. I just can't believe the sounds he makes -- just awesome!

  • I agree

  • Some modern players that have Ace's slow vibrato, John Sykes, Paul Gilbert who credits Aces vibrato as a hughe influence. What a solo. My favorite Kiss song for over 30 years. If I mention it to a casual fan they don't know the song at all.

  • @carnivalofsouls2047 I used to play this song... singing and playing drums in my garage band about 15 yrs ago...... fuckin awsome.

  • @shakjamer AWESOME! I would have loved to hear you guys play Strange Ways! Ace rocks!

  • @carnivalofsouls2047 this was AMAZING!!!! live when i saw him on his solo tour last yr!!

  • yeah i still have my vinyl i got it when i was six years old im thirty-eight now do the math and i still play the sucker and its on the blue label yes.

  • You and I both. I'm 41 and man I remember being 9 years old a nd loving this tune. I still thinks it's Aces' best solo. Kileer tone, a wah , neck position Les Paul and a Marshall.

  • yes

  • I've remembered listening to this song for roughly 30 years (I use to have the original on vinyl). Thanks to youtube, i've heard this track again. The young bucks out there could learn a thing or two from one of the best guitar solos ever played. Thank you Ace. Saved in my fav's and on heavy rotation!!

  • fuck yeah Ace !!!!!

  • How Ace pulled off that solo boggles my mind!

  • This is one of the best Ace songs ever. I add this to the list of Rocket Ride, Parasite, etc. that rock.

  • @PaulStanleysGal But It's Peter Criss singing it lol

  • @PaulStanleysGal cold gin shock me talk to me

  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again...coolest Ace song ever!

  • One of the best Kiss songs ever.

    The guitar solo is awesome!

  • frehley rock n roll!!!
