  • So for ANYONE who remains anti-union after reading what I have attempted to explain, well, all I can say is that I feel sorry for folks like you! You take the hard-work and efforts of MILLIONS of unionized employees, many of which are MISSION-CRITICAL to maintaining your quality of life, an bash them...THIS IS THE HEIGHT OF IGNORANCE! That's right...you're simply ignorant of Labor history and what Labor has, does, and will continue to bring you into the future BECAUSE WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE

  • such as this one and attempt to bash Union folks when normally they have absolutely NO CLUE WHATSOEVER who we are, what we do, how we do it, where we work or live, when we function and in what capacity, or where they would even be without us. Most people want to get on websites and bash Union employees when in reality there wouldn't even be an Internet without the Unions because we have built it! Not only that, we have built the powerhouses that power data centers, your houses and your work!

  • even begin to talk about the safety records of American versus Japanese-owned facilities...OSHA records can attest to the rather large gap...apparently the old rat idiom "We need to hurry", replaced recently by "Get 'er done" only serves to increase injuries and send people home with 60% pay at best, IF they're lucky. I, as a highly-trained and skilled UNION electrician who makes Union lines and non-union lines alike function properly, have a had time with the ratty individuals who get on sites

  • IBEW Inside Wireman with almost 24 years as an licensed Master Electrician and I have been in Union auto plants (GM, Ford, Chrysler, Corvette, ad infinitum) and Rat shops (Toyota, Subaru, Honda, etc., etc. ad nasuem) and I must say that the difference in manufacturing techniques and management styles is night and day between American (Union) and Japanese (rat) auto-manufacturing and assembly facilities...NIGHT AND DAY! The quality of American made automobiles is still unsurpassed and let's not

  • Sorry it took so long to catch up with the likes of you....... FUCK YOU AGAIN

  • So has the great American ingenuity become bitching about losing your job instead of reinventing yourself and finding a new job ?

    Lazy UAW fuck.

Go to a Honda or Hyundai plant in the USA / non union and they build cars that people want to buy, -they thrive.

The big three is hardly the canary in the coal mine of American prosperity, these fat UAW fucks constantly warn "..what happened to us will happen to the rest of America"

America would be lucky to rip off as much as the fucking lazy UAW has.

  • First of all my husband lost his job at GM in Ohio he was IUE Union. I have family and friends who work at Honda in Ohio & comparing wages they make as much if not more due to better benfits and perks.

  • Comment removed

  • Great song. And I don't even like country music.:)

  • GM plant in Lordstown Ohio will prob be closed come May, The big 3 aint going to be here too much longer if this Country dont turn around soon. I try to buy American and from independent/local stores as much as I can.

  • This is what happens when Detroit auto workers lose their jobs and have too much time on their hands.....they make tedious boring music in their basements. Please, buy American!

  • Great job! It's exciting to see your song being embraced by so many people. This song truly signifies what Americans are facing in our day-to-day lives. Your song needs to be played across America for everyone to hear. Radio and internet radio should be playing this great American anthem.

  • Great job Greg! I'll likely be joining you on layoff the first part of May. I hope our plant survives the rough road ahead!

Karen, 2nd shift electrician Grand Blanc WTC

  • Greg, you're right on point. My husband's grandfather was a sit downer and helped to form the union here in Flint, MI. Now they had tore down 6 hugh plants in this town. AC and Buick City are gone and so are the jobs. You watch you're city die a slow death while the big wigs sit in there silver palace and fly on there private jets. How can I feed my family on that. Steel and textile industry has gone the same way. Buy American = Employ Americans

  • If the Union would disappear then you might still have a job. Taxes and high labor cost have driven companies to move to other countries. I'm sure you wont admit it but it's the truth.

  • And you'd rather Americans work for the same wages as Communist China.

So how's things in Texas, Comrade?

  • Never said that. It just seems like every 3 years (before this mess) that the UAW came to GM, Ford, Chrysler with a new set of demands.

How are things in Texas? They are actually pretty good here. Low taxes and right to work does amazing things.

  • You said that high wages are why we're being outsourced. In saying that, you're telling people that you want our wages to be as low as commie China in the name of protecting jobs. I suppose you'd like the safety conditions as well.

So how's things working out for you, Comrade?

  • You are right, I don't want wages to be as low as China but I think someone should be paid $70 an hour to a car together. If it makes any difference, I'll support union made anyday of the week over china.

  • We don't ahve a choice. Building a car, many of the jobs, is monkey work. It does not call fro $50hr with benefits. Toyota, Hinda, and Subaru are building in the US and their line workers make $15 - 25 hr. GM couldn't compete.

  • Thanks for replying to a six month old comment, dick.

Labor costs make up less than 5% of GM's costs. The problems with GM come from stupid management decisions, like deciding to design shoddy cars in the hopes that people will buy more of their cars sooner-not seeing the obvious fact that people would buy their cars elsewhere, and depending on the sales of trucks and SUVs when gas prices were skyrocketing.

Besides that, Toyota and Nissan have had to lay off workers.

  • Internet toughguy huh? Stupid ass.

  • That's the best you have to counter my argument? Weak. I didn't threaten you once. I made a well reasoned argument that apparently you're too stupid to counter.

  • Your "well reasoned arguement" started by calling me a "dick"? Go away peewee.

  • Weak.

  • Also, GM ships in parts made in Mexico & other countries, we have to put it in the cars and get called lazy and bad work. The workers tell you its crappy stuff but the bean counters don't care. They want to make their bonus.

  • @djtyg More of that deafeatist rationalization of why Detroit failed.

The invisible hand of the marketplace deemed Detroit as trash unworthy of consumption.

Despite this, the Fuckhead Big 3 convinced Congress in the 80's to make it nearly impossible to import a Japanese car but the Fucktard 3 was overwhelmed by the success of American made Japanese cars.

A Honda or Hyundai is more American than a junk GM since those cars are designed with ingenuity and pride instead of greed and entitlement.

  • @SeymourButtz99 Any man with a name like SeymourButtz99 shouldn't be lecturing people on intelligence. I made my comment 8 months ago and you're replying to it? Go find something to do.

  • Nice Video and song. The Trade Union movement built the middle class and all of the folks who have never experienced all that the union movement has gained for American workers feel that the Union movement is getting their cumupance. I just hope that when the next generation of workers organizes that they learn from the lessons of the past - especially the international impact of outsourcing and multinational corporation's eternal search for cheaper labor to exploit workers worldwide.

  • Be American and Buy American (whenever you can - it is becoming increasingly tougher, but you can if you look).

  • Great song and video Greg!

Too bad too many people don't "get it". The union, while not perfect, has basically built the middle class of America. They weren't asking for more, they were asking for what was fair. While the companies had record setting profits, they asked for more for their workers. Conversely, while these companies are in trouble, they are making concession after concession to help the companies. If our trade policies don't change, we will be working for China, oh wait.......

  • UAW = U Aint Working hahahahahaha

  • Hey Greg, great job, Thanks! Larry, Chrysler chassis, retired.

  • Get rid of the Union = get rid of the problem.

  • no you idiot get rid of free trade = fix the problem. you go to russia and want to buy an american car cost you 70% more just because of there taxes on imports. 30k mustang in japan or china will cost you 60k just from the import taxes. but they can all send there shit here and its free. how do you expect anyone to compete with such a fucked playing field? union pushes for higher quality of living and holds the company to what its says.

  • I'll agree with you on the free trade but the union is still the majority of the problem. It seems like every two years the UAW is wanting more and more while driving these companies straight into the ground.

  • Go fuck yourself.

  • After the UAW stays away from the car companies I would be glad to. Seeing that that is never going to happen because the UAW is nothing but a bunch of greedy bastards as are the greedy CEO's.

  • Get fucked ass wipe

  • Wow, you're realllllly smart.

  • Hey redneck you need to educate yourself on the term redneck came from organizers pulling a UNION together for the coalmines. They would tie a red bandanna around there necks so they knew who they could trust. Unlike you they believed a fair days pay for a fair days work. Maybe you should change your cyberspace name to something more simple. When I find the time I will educate you on the UAW and what that union has done for workers across the USA even for people like you.

  • Great job, on song and video. It brings me to tears. I'm unemployed to.

  • Good song. Sure GM has made some mistakes. Its the people running it now. Back in the days when REAL CARS were built 70s back down, you had Harley Earl, Ed Cole and others, they'd turn over in there grave if they knew what was going on. I will not own a foreign made JAP CRAP anyday, don't want one, never will have one. I'll keep driving my old Chevy. Daily driver is 86 SS Monte, 305 200+k and still going. Oh and its been flogged on plenty of times. Not babied like those little 4 banger japs.

  • GM built crap & is getiing what it deserves...a slow death. My Silverado 5.3 engine knocks, steering wheel clunks & the parking brake does not work. All 3 issues from day 1. GM calls it "normal" so I moved to another brand. GM is reaping what it sewed.

  • Yeah, you had a bad experience and so everything they build is junk... Well, I've owned a lot of GM iron over the last 45 years and the cars they have built in the last 10 years or so have been just great. My current car is an '03 Aurora with 80, 000 miles on it, and it's as good as the day it rolled of the line.

  • Great song

I linked it to twitter and facebook
