colby cohen came to a hockey clinic i went to he has sick gloves he also played for the middle school hockey team that i do but he played years ago lol i play now lol
i was there i can actually see myself right behind the glass. but being a BU game this was by far the greatest hockey game i have ever scene. 2 goals in the last minute and an overtimer i was going nuts and it was awkward since we were with all the miami of ohio fans
in the 3rd period i was so pist and with about 5 minutes i almost changed the channel and then they scored with 1:30 then like 30 seconds left it was epic
@kahockey19 What does that have to do with anything? National championship, overtime, Gilroy makes probably the gutsiest plays by a defenseman I think I've ever seen. Don't try and put a negative spin on it.
@rdlampert Garbage? I don't see how it's garbage. Oh, my bad.. Because it got deflected let's make it seem like it didn't really prove much. I'm not a fan of either team.. Just a hockey fan watching it, and I couldn't believe it. It's better to be lucky than good.
Wow amazing game. Hey thanks BU for all your talented young players!! Yes I'm an Avalanche fan, Yip has been fantastic for us. And now we have both the Cohens signed as well as Shattenkirk!!
I miss this team. Unfortunatley we lost most of our good players because they either graduated or left early to join the NHL. I think the only "good" thing that happened this year is that Gryba now holds the team record for penalty minutes...woooo... :-/
The greatest BU championship had to come on the most unbelievable one of a kind goals I have seen in 44 years of BU hockey. How about THE IMMACULATE DEFLECTION!!!!!!!!. BU'69
Watched this entire game on TV. As a C/O 2009 grad, it was sadness and heartbreak followed by unbridled euphoria. The moment that puck hit the back of the net was ecstasy. Absolutely amazing.
Don't feel bad I'm a 1981 grad and I couldn't watch last few minutes of final, I left Agannis Arena with Terriers down 3-1 and found out at home it was 3-3, than listened to overtime on radio. I should have known better, this was greatest BU comeback team since 1977 when Terriers won6 games in third period after being down by 2 or 3 goals. This 2009 team ranks right up there with teams of Eruzione, Meagher, Silk and Craig.
After all the good luck and odd bounces to get BU to the championship game, it was this last beautiful moment that confirmed to me that god is a terriers fan
One of the quirkiest goals you will ever see in a hockey game, at least as far as the shot goes. I can't believe that the defenseman actually blocked the shot, but it's extremely bad luck that it actually went into the goal. What a game!
I agree 100%. I've never seen anything like that before. What a weird bounce..if the goalie wasn't screened then it probably would've been a save. Alas, it was not to be. What a great game.

Would have been better if BU won with a legit OT goal. Sick comeback, but what a garbage way to win... a deflection...really.
rdlampert 1 year ago
@rdlampert I agree, although a deflection off of one of BU's stick would have been much more sick.

i thought nothing would top how lucky blake wheeler's final five goal in 2008, but this tops it by a mile.

came back to earth, yes... but they're the #3 seed in the hockey east tourney, and can possibly win out to make the NCAAs again...
