I don't agree with Nightmare, Last House or Carrie. They were actually decent. I do agree with you on The Fog, Black Xmas, The Wicker Man, Prom Night, Psycho and When a Stranger Calls Though. They were terrible filmmaking.
@spyrothedragon590 idk about Nightmare on Elm Street, I can respect ur opinion but I honestly felt like it shouldn't have been made. It's like a "Why Even Bother" type of remake. It clones some scenes from the original, characters are bland than the original, & Freddy dies in a pathetic, lousy, weak, horrendous way. HANDS DOWN! I don't think Robert Englund's Freddy can die from that. I never saw remake of Carrie or The Last House on the Left, but won't bother with it. Just saying bud no offense.
@billruller no offense taken champ. I thought it was decent. Yes, maybe it shouldn't of been remade, but if it's made for a new generation which i am growing up in, then i can respect it.
@billruller I think the Fog is a pile of shit. I mean who would have thought that today's effects and shitty actors would replace Carpenter's work. I kinda like the new nightmare on elm street because even if they were only picky for money, it was just dark and gritty and the score and Jackie earle were good enuff to make the film go on.
@spyrothedragon590 I agree with the remake of Fog, it's possibly the worst of all remakes. Well, I will give credit on the remake of NoES. Jackie Earle Haley was pretty good as Freddy, it's not easy being Freddy Krueger unlike Robert Englund b/c Englund IS Freddy. But still, Jackie wasn't bad. But the make-up is lil crappy, it looked like cheese pizza lol I also did like the Nightmare scenes, they were pretty decent as the original. So, I do give NoES credit, but I dnt feel it holds up for me.
@spyrothedragon590 Me? lol um...I'm not entirely sure haha I haven't seen a lot of decent remakes exempt The Ring, The Thing, Dawn of the Dead, & The Grudge. Idk how to make a Top 10.
Whatever happen to original movies? Everything is just a remake now. It's like the movie industry has lost it's creativity or is just too lazy to think of their own plots.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed the black christmas retake, i also enjoyed the first one as well for different reasons. the nightmare remake was just awful! they totally did a bad make-up and prosthetic job on freddy, every time i saw freddy in that movie i wanted to punch the damn screen(he looks like he's from whoville!) freddy's voice also sounded really soft and not threatening at all!. the friday the 13th remake was terrible as well
yea i agree these are all crap but i actually would have put a nightmare on elm st. at #1, to me thats the all time worst remake ever, awful acting, awful effects, no scares what so ever, no suspense and worst of all no originality just a cheep way to cash in on a true classic and im not trying to just hop on the band wagon and hate it but it really does suck,
top list mate, yeah wot is it with classic horror films they just have to remake them why cant they just leave them the fuck alone! i mean wots next remakes of saw, the sixth sense, paranormal activity and the blair witch project in about 10 or 15 years time
House of Wax, Amityville Horror, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Day of the Dead....

@billruller that's fine. I also agree, Black Xmas was a very unfaithful adaptation of the original, it sucked hard.

@inbreakingnews The Shining didn't get remade, the author of the original book didn't like the movie so he made it a three episode t.v mini series.
