See "Kayleen Flanery "surviving cystic fibrosis and the need for health care reform now" Then tell me US health care is good.Sorry but compared to the UKs NHS you are a piece of crock.
I'm from Japan. I have never had to wait or need for making an appointment to see a doctor.
If you are in the school, specially elementary school, the doctors(eye, teeth, necessary vaccination, etc.) come to the school regularly for the check up.
I'm from Canada... this woman knows nothing about our healthcare system....I would never trade our system with the American system... That says it all.
Im from the uk and this is the first i've heard of people waiting 6 months to a year for a doctor ! lol she should do abit more research because if this was the case it would be all over the news in england would"nt it ?
Where do Americans get these crazy ideas about Canadian health care? There's no one from the government between me and my doctor, people who have an urgent need to see a specialist see a specialist right away, teh median age of survival for CF patients is th esame in Canada as it is in the US.
This is fearmongering of the worst kind. Please stop lying about my country.
This fucking idiot is full of shit. I have NEVER EVER in my entire life been dissapointed in any way with healthcare in the UK with regard to my CF and neither has my brother who also has CF and neither has anyone else I know who has CF. This woman is a god damn liar and is using her son to make some horseshit political point on fox fucking news. You fucking americans deserve the shitty shitty healthcare you have.
Kristen Hawkins also lies bout Ireland, claiming socilaized health care is responsible for cystic fibrosis in that country.
In Ireland about one in 1,500 Irish people will develop the disease. However, the reason for the increased incidence is not known, but researchers say that it may be caused by environmental factors which may cause the CFTR gene to mutate or increase.
Funny, how Kristan doesn't mention all the American children without insurance and are unable to see a doctor.
Kristan Hawkins is lying 100% about UK healthcare, they do not deny babies with cystic fobrocis immediate care, but American health insurance companies do by cutting coverage.
Obama's plan would not prevent any baby or adult from getting medical care, but private insurance companies do everyday.
Kristan Hawkins is a liar and is using her baby to further her lies.
The Obama plan will move America to mandated coverage and will force changes for all health care plans. With increased paperwork, bureaucracy, and regulations, seeing a doctor will be more difficult. When you force the demand for health care up by making it "free" for people, it will create shortages. This is simple economics.
Have you read the bill? Please post where in the bill it says that healthcare will be mandated. You do not create shortage, the problem is that we have millions of people who are sick and cannot get care. I myself have great health care, but it's not only about me, it's about millions of others sharing this country. Why don't you just say that as long as you are taken care of, screw everyone else? At least have the guts.
Well, personally I think some of the numbers out there are misleading. It's true that there are many people without healthcare and yes that is a problem. However, what they don't tell you is that some of those without health care are can afford it, but simply choose not to get it (for whatever reason). I think there are definitely some changes that need to be made, but I don't think nationalizing it is definitely the way to go.
It's not nationalizing, it's allowing a option designed to offer care without profits. The private sector still exists and now have a competitor. So now we have the same thing cheaper, because there is no one in Wall St profiting from an essential and life saving industry. A few people will not make billions of dollars, but rather, the premium paid by the customer is reinvested to it's benefit.
"It's not nationalizing, it's allowing a option designed to offer care without profits. "
What a lovely picture you paint. The thing that you are forgetting is how doctors and students will react to a job without profit. Would you spend about 8 years of your life in college accumulating debt to work at a job that wouldn't allow you to make any money? And then to top it off you could be sued if you make a mistake. Why not just get a simple business degree and make more money without the risk?
Doctors will not get a pay cut or work for free or without profits, as I mentioned and you distorted, we have to get rid of the people in Wall St. They produce nothing, they help nothing. If you want to distort the truth to defend them, that's your problem.
Canada's life expectancy is 47, 10 more than USA. Yeah, socialist nazism!

She is not forced or obligated to take the public option. If what she has is good for her, she can keep it, so what's the problem?
