We need to start treating this planet as our garden home. It is our responsibility as the dominant species on the planet to take care of the rest. We're the only creature on the planet that can.
If we can drag tons of fish off the ocean floor, then we can drag tons of plastic out of the water too. If we can build giant factories to pollute the water, we can build giant tanks to purify that water too.
We already have the answers, we just don't like them, because they're inconvenient.

Some people argue that a mass culling of humans is needed to bring things back into balance. I think that if we used the tech at our disposal, and started treating the whole planet as our home, instead of just our houses. We'd see a big change.
The technology needed to fix the worlds problems is in our hands. The trick is to convince all those people who are making lots of money doing things the wrong way to start doing things the right way. The way we should have been doing things since we first discovered what kind of effect we're having on the oceans.
We have no need to hunt for food, we can cultivate everything we need. We can raise fish, the same way we do cows.
It would create more jobs in this challenged economy as well.

Human kind is just ending one chapter in earths very long existence. Nothing that we do is "wrong" or "right". If we consume the earth, we will dissappear and therefore create a chance for next dominant species. If we don't do it, then wouldn't that be wrong looking from next dominant species point of view (yeah yeah, then they wouldn't excist), but what if they would treat earth better?
We are not killing the earth, we are making room for future species - if we excist, they would have to adabt to deal successfully with humankind, therefore evoluting to new species; if we are not around anymore, then they adabt to world that we left for them - yet again becoming new species.

As a Christian, I believe that I am responsible to "keep up" the earth that God has put me on. I do NOT believe in "global warming" or anything of the like simply because there is no real evidence of its actual happening. The same temperature changes were recorded around 70 years ago with the exact same changes, and it worked itself out. Again, I think we should take care of this earth and the things in it...but that doesn't mean that we "worship" it...which is basically what most people do...

Perhaps, but we have caused the extinction of thousands of species on this planet since we arrived. Not just animal species but plants as well. We'd punched a hole in the atmosphere as well.
Whether or not you believe we are killing the planet, we've done our share of damage. We've killed many a living thing here, and we may some day find ourselves on that list.
whether the earth or we die first, the outcome is the same as far as humans are concerned.
Neither is acceptable in my opinion.

I think the current estimate is 97% of the species that have ever existed are currently extinct...and that is not because of human beings.
Species died out before "naturally" and they will continue to do so.
If you believe we came from nature, then you know we are part of the process, there is no such thing as "manmade" it's all just "nature". You imply distinction when none exists, unless we're talking divine.

Yes many species became extince before human beings started harvesting every resource this planet has to offer us.
I don't question that we are part of the Earth's "process". However, humans have a unique and undeniable atvantage compared to the other creatures here.
We can shape the planet to be whatever we want it to be. We literally have the ability to move mountains. We can create islands, forests, fields, and lakes. No other creature on Earth can do what we can.

So what does that have to do with the fact that we are not responsible for the overwhelming percentage of creatures that have gone extinct?
Do you think humans should shape the earth how they deem fit since they have the ability to? Should we keep around species that would have gone extinct without our help? Should we destroy species that cause an imbalance in nature?
You see, people like you want to do the exact same thing you hate on...regulate the planet for yourself.

I see you're point but you misunderstand what I'm getting at.
I only mean that we, humans, can choose to have less of an impact on the planet. We don't have to destroy it in the process of existing.
Outside of our own mess, I think it's best to allow the Earth to look after itself.
I believe that because we can take better care of our mess that it's our responsibility to do so.
As for what we are capable of, I simply wanted to point out the "distinction" you asked about. We're NOT divine.

Human kind is just ending one chapter in earths very long existence. Nothing that we do is "wrong" or "right". If we consume the earth, we will dissappear and therefore create a chance for next dominant species. If we don't do it, then wouldn't that be wrong looking from next dominant species point of view (yeah yeah, then they wouldn't excist), but what if they would treat earth better?

We are not killing the earth, we are making room for future species - if we excist, they would have to adabt to deal successfully with humankind, therefore evoluting to new species; if we are not around anymore, then they adabt to world that we left for them - yet again becoming new species.

Not everyone is all talk, wazzaa4u. I go to the beach a LOT and I pick up trash all the time. I see other people doing the same occasionally. It's the little things that start the trend. I also stop buying plastic where I can.

As a Christian, I believe that I am responsible to "keep up" the earth that God has put me on. I do NOT believe in "global warming" or anything of the like simply because there is no real evidence of its actual happening. The same temperature changes were recorded around 70 years ago with the exact same changes, and it worked itself out. Again, I think we should take care of this earth and the things in it...but that doesn't mean that we "worship" it...which is basically what most people do...

The Christian God, and all gods of all religions on Earth, were fabrications of ancient civilizations who were trying to understand the world. Perhaps something did create the universe (although there has never been evidence for it) but it was not a god of our religions

As far as the Big Bang...yes, there is evidence. Cosmology teaches about red shifts, and cosmic background radiation which was predicted 3 decades ago before we even had the technology to see it. Where did matter in the singularity that caused the big bang come from? We don't know. Simple as that.

My universe includes living in 9 countries on 3 continents in 25 years, traveling the world, having a great education, and being well cultured. My universe includes 7 and a half years as a practicing Christian too. Thankfully the will of my mind to distinguish the true from the untrue is stronger than any convictions established by religious indoctrination. So you have sought for truth as a religion and now worship it. Remember that truth in your "realm" is dependant upon those that tell it. I used to be an atheist, until I saught for a way to shut Christians up via the world of facts and materials I knew and the Bible they knew. I am now a Christian and am quite firm in what I believe based upon the facts I know and the Bible I know...they actually fit together quite nicely when you understand how both work!

Spend a few months with some intensive study of ancient cultures (including those previous to the early Israelites), evolutionary biology, cosmology, astronomy, sociology, and engage in some good old introspection. If you're intellectually honest, and spiritually unbiased, you'll see the truth. A god may very well exist. He may have created everything. But if he does, he is infinitely more complex than anything humans have concocted. Humans have always made god in THEIR image. It's obvious.
