LOTR music choice puzzles me. To the Indian confederation, US forces were loke Orcs. Note the Sioux were hated by many other Indian tribes for their cruelty in waging war. To get a victory like this, you needed a military genius on one side and Custer on the other. Finally, Indians were finally defeated logistically, after Sheridan ordered the complete destruction of all buffalo herds. Without this superior source of supply, the Indians could no longer withstand superior numbers.

I'd say the right and the wrong are pretty easy to tell:

Custer wanted to slaughter the Indians, or at least drive them off their land, and the tribes legitimately defended themselves against this aggression.

Custer was a butcher, as he proved at the Washita massacre, and he got what he deserved.

@fuhrerschein2008 Well if you actually readed some history than you'll find out that Custer was actually against the treatments of the indians. He once complanied to the Congress about those "policies" and that almost got him fired from his job. Custer was simply a man at the wrong place on the wrong time with the wrong strategy, and who had wrong ideas at that time.

@Dommie222 Custer was looking to gain the Democrat nomination for president in 1876. He was going to do that on the bodies of the Lakota people. Custer murdered many Cheyenne women at the massacre at the Washita River despite fathering a Cheyenne bastard by a native women.

@fuhrerschein2008 Its horrible that women and children died, civilians die in all wars. The "Massacre" at Washita was actually a surprise attack on an enemy camp. Only problem was there was no distinction between military and civilian camps for the Indians and innocents died. Plus Custer suffered dozens of casualties too, most real massacres are much more one sided than even this. History isnt black and white
