  • genius

  • I named my cat F.M, but my ex thought it was F. Em like F#%ck Em so that was how she pronounced it. I did not know the origin of F.M's name so I never corrected her.

  • rofl

  • ur dad rules as do u!!!!

  • foda pra carai solidão=sehnsucht sehnsucht sehnsucht sehnsucht....

  • @fuckyouatwothetellme acho que sensucht significa saudade... não? é uma dúvida minha também.. vi na wikipedia

  • @fuckyouatwothetellme sehnsucht*

  • I Named my cat Blixa in honor of Blixa Bargeld, he's an unpredictable little fucker. Does that count for anything?

  • genius completely awsome. Pioneers in experssing existentualism, neuvau, and the dichotomy of modern man thru music which became a genre of music known as industrial or industrial noise goth. Half Man thanks

  • I got this VHS back then in 91 or 92 when I was 17/18 and used to watch it everyfucking friday/sat night as well as SKINNY PUPPY´s "AIN´T IT DEAD YET?" video and TEST DEPT´s "PROGRAM FOR PROCESS" and CABARET VOLTAIRE´s "GASOLINE IN YOUR EYE" before I went out and got totally drunk and since then I´ve become a huge NEUBAUTEN fan...this whole video is a MASTERPIECE!!!

    Greets from Lima, Perú.

  • fuckin brilliance

  • @InbredMao and in defense of BlixaMarkham1337 wow... are you so unhappy with your own miserable life that you need to lash out verbally at someone who just posted an interesting fact? I don't think they were trying to be cool... but if you want to go there, being a hostile prick when there's enough hate in this world doesn't make you so f@#king cool either.

  • Wow. I had this video (the full vid) back when it first came out. Absolutely stunning, IMO -- even now.

  • wow awesome name-but are you as sexy ;)

  • That's what I call CLUBIN'!

  • So GREAT!

  • なにしとんねん

  • I have this on vhs. I've seen them live twice and they absolutely blew my mind.

  • I just bought a copy of it myself; never thought I'd get the chance to own it.

  • Pure genius!

  • @BlixaMarkham1337 thats fucking badass! xD

  • @InbredMao

he was named after an artists. he is stating this fact,.. you are calling him a attention whore?? goto 4chan or whatever to release some of your tension, it's made for people like you

  • @InbredMao U freakin prat... get lost u total bore! Yes it does make the boy cool actually... fuck you.

  • @BlixaMarkham1337 OMG that is about the coolest thing i ever heard! Pleased to meet u Blixa! I'm sending a friend request... pls accept! I saw the band on their very first London gig supporting The Birthday Party back in ... 83 think it was... maybe ur dad was there? Lyceum Theatre in the Strand. Ask him!

  • @BlixaMarkham1337 Your Dad sounds awesome...Id be stoked! :)

  • @BlixaMarkham1337 yes!!!!!!

  • if any band can pull off making a movie that is part music video it's Einsturzende Neubauten since i think the visual aspect is a big part of their music

  • yess this this

    great stuff

  • This is Industrial........ love it

  • 3:08 reminds me of Shadow of Doubt by Sonic Youth

  • I heard it in 80's.I remember any sound of this piece

  • echt und einfach beeindruckend... Einfach toll!!

  • einzturzende es lo maximo, aun recuerdo esas notas estromboticas y paraniocas que retumbaron aqui en mexico yeahhhh

  • why would you divide yourself from people who don't fency only musical excitement but searching DEEPER into human heart and mind.

  • großartig. Das ist wahre Kunst.

  • They did it all before everyone else.

    Amazing!

  • Technically, Throbbing Gristle invented Industrial, however, I think Neubauten pulls it off more than anyone else. Besides, Neubauten isn't only Industrial, it's...more than any other genre of music.

  • Yes, you are correct.

  • Which is generally described as avant gard. I mean, you can't label something thats completely alien. This is, still, in many ways very alien. Its.. something, and a bit of industrial.

  • I think they might be more influenced by Fluxus than by Throbbing Gristle!

  • LO MEJOR

  • art.

  • dead cat on a stick?

  • Awesome!

  • einfach nur ... dumm?!

  • this is now my favourite thing. ever.

  • MAGNIFIQUE

  • Merzbau.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • I LIKE

  • haha the first guy's built, and then the stats just get taller and skinnier from there... fucking amazing stuff

  • so amazing

  • Oh my god.

    Einsturzende at it's best.

  • He'd better hurry and make a record with his 2-month old kid, their screaming is the best at this age :-)

  • utterly utterly brilliant!

  • what is the name of this song?

  • Sehnsucht (Zitternd)

  • The second song is Letztes Biest (Am Himmel). I'm not sure of the third one.

  • the third song is called "Abfackeln". (to flare off/up) if you search for that you can get the whole song.

  • They remind me of Street Drum Corps in a way due to their use of random crap as instrments...these guys of course came first..

also the warehouse looks like the one Die Toten Hosen's Hier Kommt Alex video was filmed in...

    Wunderbar!

  • mmm..that's good einstürzende neubauten

  • Blixa looked hot back in the 80s and pretty in the face and he STILL looks good but the rest of Neubaten is ugly but Halber Mensch is one of my fave albums of all thime.

Just goes to show you gotta open your mind and listen to non-English singing music sometimes!

  • thats the thing abt most english speakers, they think music containing other languages they dont understand is crap because they dun get it.

  • I think most anglos are pretty obtuse but I'm not...in 1986, age 16, I began to learn German so I could understand Rilke, Nietzsche and Blixa's lyrics. Ende Neu.

  • you're in for a treat , there's still Thomas Mann,Werner Goethe, Schiller, ETA Hoffman, Guntehr Grass, herman Hesse and Hiedegger left to go.

    Plus Rainier Fassbinder's Films.

  • Of those- Mann der Zauberberg, Goethe - Faust, LDJWerther, a tad of unavoidable Schiller (Ich weiß nicht was soll es bedeuten etc) Grass - Blechtrommel, Hundejahre, a few Fassbinder films and how I loved a man called eva, about him, a treat too...but Heidegger and ETA Hoffman NOthing, still an ignoramus after all that...it took me three years to learn German not one...so you're a bloody genius then (grinz)

  • I think this is a mis-concenption with the learning of a language.

I have learned german in about a year, if you know spanish, it's very easier.

  • Mark Chung was soo hot when he was bald! ; )

  • Fantastick!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh, christian emmerich was too pretty

  • There are the true sounds in our factory world....Fantastic...

  • I dont like it, but its art and not supposed to be loved by everyone.

  • it may not be "songful" to some, but it is indeed music. It's called a tribute to the Pythagorean comma. The sounds that the natural scale shun. It's the other side of life, you know, the ugly side.

  • i've seen them a few times live in concert in san francisco, and they were GREAT. it's performance art, people. enjoy the ride.

    love to the band.

    k

  • wow, you suck, don't you? Close-minded for a "hippie", ay?

  • :S

    compliments!!!

    ahahahahahahahha

ma vatt´a ccid tu e chillu strunz e tuo cognato!! :D

  • i don't understand why this kind of comments are hidden, i like them a lot, they are the most interesting of all. and i don't say it with sarcasm. the more of them, the more glad i am when listening to the stuff they try to put down.

besides of that, i recomend everyone to get the full "1/2 mensch" video, it is really worthy, a superb opus.

  • makes me pine for the days when there was such a thing as industrial music, real fucking true to form industrial

  • how do you prounce there name?

  • Ainshtuhzende Noi-bow-ten

  • theres a vid on youtube with blixa and mick harvey and mick pronounces it perfectly in it...its how i learnt to say it properly lol

  • scheisse! schoen....

  • true industrial.

  • Two dozen cows!

  • amazing!

  • This brings back memories of a EN concert in Paris La Cigale early 90s. Thought the place was falling down, but... pure genius!

  • this brings memories to me to

  • I love this video!

  • sehnsucht

  • if industrial music is anything this is it.

  • i agree, nowaday so called industrial is mostly uninspired ebm music produced for the clubs.

  • exactly.

  • pen de ja!

  • yeah!

  • holey bejeebus~!

  • I was just going to say the same thing.

  • Inspired and inspiring!

  • Das ist unglaublich!

    DAS ist pure Kunst!!!

    Danke für das Video...

  • Songs in this video:

    "Sehnsucht"

    "Letztes Biest am Himmel"

    "Abfackeln!"

  • ge-nius ge-nius ge-nius

  • gorgeous

  • this could be the most savagely beautiful thing I've ever heard

  • It is, isn't it? Absolutely wonderful stuff.

  • I remember when I first saw this (late 1980s). It was like a revelation.

But it was nothing compared to seeing them live. Wow!

EN, along with TG, SPK and some other acronymyous bands are truly the progenitors of so much of today's music. And were so much more original than most acts nowadays too.

  • seen them in 1984 in the "NL centrum"in(outcomming of the record with a 12") amsterdam. also SPK in '83, TEST DEPT, The EX. still have the tickets.

  • Omfg i am realy jealous!Seen neubauten and the Ex but there is no chance in hell to see SPK live :((

  • You obviously have "gotten it". I totally agree. You should also check out Death in June. And Panasonic. They're from Finland. And they're awsome. Just listen and find out. Bye for now.

  • je ne savais pas que jean louis aubert avait joué avec ce groupe allemand. C'est mieux que téléphone en tout cas, et beaucoup plus intéressant que ce qu'il a fait par la suite en solo.

  • Too bad some new fans can no longer grasp the magic in this.

    Those poor children.

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiihhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

neubauten are simply the best kick ass band! GODDAM

  • hell yes!!!

  • I have no idea how Blixa manages to scream so high-pitched like that. It's absolutely amazing, like the perfect horror film scream, if it was used in a horror film.

  • constrict your throat and pull air in really hard... sounds like a baby dinosaur.

  • AWESOME! The soundtrack to my late teens!

  • I tried to get these guys to play at my wedding, but they're so hard to get a hold of. I've been a fan for years.

  • Would've been brilliant.

I hope everyone still had a great time and that you're chugging along in a happy marriage.

  • see them live...

  • hell yeah, neubauten live are simply amazing

  • personally, I put hot dogs in my shopping cart when I electrocute it...okay, tofu dogs, jeez

  • JE NE M'EN LASSERAI JAMAIS!!!

  • one of the best band in all the damn world

    amazing performers

  • fucking A. but try saying that to most north americans

  • this is amazing. they sure don't make 'em like they used to, yeah?

  • I don't like to see Marc shave his beautiful hair, but otherwise: awesome, spectacular, bravo!

  • Ahhhh! fantastique!! ça fait du bien!!!

  • if you want to see more of this, just look at the Halber Mensch videos here

  • this version of "sehnsucht" is by far the best one i know compared to this all the other ones suck

  • There is a nicely primal version of sehnsucht from the 25th Anniversary tour in London where Blixa takes up a guitar, and he sings his lungs out. Interesting to hear it 25 years on.

  • I love it.rock

  • EN should have stayed like this...

  • MORE...MORE..!MORE!!!

  • i love this
